You could always just poach her friend list and steal them. (Stirring trouble).

FYI, 5 Guys is the best burger joint ever! I actually ate there this week.

We need to talk! I just took on a new job that I am positively stoked about. I have been hired as a Director of Day Services for a non-profit organization that supports adults with developmental delays. I manage two programs--a vocational center and a retirement center. The organization inherited the vocational center and…

I was spot on. Knew I was a pear too.

Double post.

I don't eat exactly the same every day. I go over my calories 2-3 times a week (by several hundred or so) but by the end of the week, I even out to exactly what I was supposed to get (plus or minus 200-500 for the entire week). I don't eat that cleanly. If I want a cheesecake, I eat it. If I want a quarter pounder with…

Apparently twerking doesn't count as working.

I'm just poking fun because my sarcasm meter was alerted from the initial post. In all seriousness, there IS a certain amount of one size fits all thing going on here frequently. I assume not everyone will get to know me. That's okay too. I also assume that all of us want something different in terms of support. One of my…

It's a work in progress.

Please don't do that. That doesn't leave enough donuts left for me. Ignore this message if you living in or own a Krispy Kreme factory.
-
Ya'll are high maintenance. Oh wait, that's just the Op. The rest of you can grab a donut. We'll encourage you to stop. It'll be okay.
-
I just decided to try that. Tastes like chocolate cheesecake!

I'm not suggesting it isn't a nice thing to do. I've just never heard of it being any kind of custom or protocol.

I've never heard of getting a gift for your boss when YOU leave. I've gotten a gift when I leave but not the other way around. If my boss left, I would get a gift for that too. I have always seen it for the person leaving. I've never heard of the person leaving giving something for the person staying. Interesting.

I'm going to an event tonight where businesses will be donating business clothes to everyone that comes and giving tips. I figure if there is anything I like but not my size, I can have it altered and it will still be a deal. At minimum, they are feeding us and I will network with a few businesses for future potential…

Kohls used to be my go to store but now I view most of it as too casual for the job. The clothes are more teacher style than business manager style. I also don't mind spending a few hours shifting through clothes but not 6 stores and 6 hours later.

Loved the video! Cried! Good for you!

I'm with you. I am needing to buy new clothes for a new job. It is either overpriced, not the right style for the job, or missing my size. I went to Dress Barn, which says sizes 4 to something on the door. Still 70% of the 4's were not available. It is frustrating to shift through a ton of clothes to find what you like…

I don't have a lot to add to this debate but I can tell you that using a food scale for months actually TAUGHT me proper portions. Now I can eyeball it better (maintenance). Some calorie dense foods may sometimes benefit from going back to scale once in awhile to verify eyeballing is still on target. This thread is full of…

My husband is leaving on a business trip again soon as well. I usually can go the first week and not really miss him because I'm too busy trying to adjust to a single parent household again (he's a great partner at home). By the second week I'm missing him like crazy. I have experience though and just realize there is…

At one point I weighed 2lbs lighter but was down 2 sizes! I like my scale but I wouldn't use it as the only progress marker. Sometimes it lies too.

If it isn't labeled, it is likely 70%. I eat Hershey Bliss Dark Chocolate. Yes, it is sweet. I can't handle darker versions. This suits me great while ensuring I don't down a whole bag of milk or white chocolate.

The easiest way to do this, and satisfy people looking at it, is to up your activity level. I am assuming you go at regular intervals. Edit to add: If you look at most calorie calculators, this is how they do it. It is already figured in. Setting it to sedentary and then adding it is relatively the same math as just upping…

Look for a crockpot version.

I actually GAINED weight when I moved to Okinawa. This is actually common among my American friends that move there. The real culprit? I quit my more active job. (Ie, moved less) I went on vacation mode (I ear much less when I'm stressed and I used the vacation mode to routinely over indulge especially with drinks)…

(singing). I've got sunshine on a cloudy day...

I use FB for a lot more than keeping up with friends, reconnecting with those from the past, sharing pictures, and chatting. I also subscribe to town and base pages and keep up with what's going on base or in town. Want to go do something fun? Oh hey, cool...it is advertised for me. I lived abroad for a few years and used…
