Emergency Psychiatrist. Always struggle with wanting to eat when stressed, and hard to plan for a healthy meal!

Speaking from experience, the weight WILL come off after stopping Risperdal, but you may need another med adjustment too. Like adding a weight loss med to temporarily jump-start your body into a new rhythm. Congrats on being happy!

I am at 236 now, was down to 221 last year but have not been below 200 for 10 years. The Time is NOW! Thanks and Best Wishes!

OK, time to set a goal for the next 8 weeks leading up to Halloween, because THE STORES ALREADY HAVE BAGS AND BAGS OF CANDY! I want to lose 12 pounds by then.
-
Glad you are back! Hope you are feeling less pain each day.

I have been pre-diabetic for 2 years, but watching what I eat has paid off and my A1C is going down!

Hi, I am in my 60s, have been on and off this site for the past year and it really helps me. Good for you on losing 5 lbs and I would welcome if you added me as a friend. I try not to look at my neck! My most annoying parts are upper arms and thighs. I always go over my sugar limit and do OK with the fat limit, go figure.…

26 pounds to get below 200 - have not weighed that little since the year 2000!!!

Your plate is so cool. I have been using the smaller plate idea too. I am new to this group. Lost 30 pounds last year and restarted this site 9 days ago. I need to lose another 30 pounds this year! I am motivated by just finding out I am "Prediabetic". Also (to my surprise) I have a new boyfriend and we are meeting for a…

Hi, I am Mary, 60 years old here in Bethlehem PA and wanting to plan for 20 more! I started to turn diabetic early in 2015 but have lost 25 pounds and need to lose 25 more. Really this has got to be permanent this time! Would love to go into the New Year having lost at least 15 pounds from this date. I have two adult sons,…

Hi, I restarted my weight loss here on Oct 10 and I am so glad to find this group for support! Weight loss goal for October is 10 pounds and so far I have lost 6 pounds (but most of that was water weight). Favorite motivator - those smaller clothes in my closet Resolutions - continue to see sweets and adult beverages as a…

Ready, set, GO!

OK to add me too - I am almost 60! Sent a friend request - Mary

People who report that they exercised today and it totalled 10,000 calories - you win!

Loved the knee comments .. Today felt my abdominal muscles while swimming! May see them someday.

I agree, weighing in at 265 pounds, I felt more confident - I guess I felt off the chart and nobody paid much attention to my size (except my MD). When I have lost weight before and got down to about 185 pounds, THEN people started to make comments but not necessarily helpful. For example, some said that they had given up…

I have lost 100 pounds in the past and have experienced the plateau you described. Felt very stuck and very tempted to give up. What worked for me was understanding that my body was concerned that we were facing a potential famine and holding onto every calorie. It actually helped me to go up in calories (somewhere between…

Hi everyone, I am new here, have been on this weight-loss program for 3+ weeks now. Hardest thing for me is the temptation to eat sweet foods in the evening so my cut off time has been 10pm. However if I wake up in the middle of the night and stay up for about half an hour, I am so hungry that I want to eat breakfast. What…

fissbuzz - congrats with reaching your mini target , and keep up the good work with those cubs!

Birthday donuts, oh my! Impressed with your resolve jafray4.

andilynn82, good luck with the procedures. Clearing out junk is a hassle, but I have found that afterwards you see the difference and it is satisfying. Let us know how you do over the next couple of days.
-
Moonbeams896, glad you are not dwelling on the bad day, you are making such a great effort!

I started at 1200 calories for a few days and was still genuinely hungry in the evening so I upped it to 1400 calories and it is working for me. If you cut too much, your body might think you are starving and slow down your metabolism!
-
Kept my calories below goal today but dinner was two ice cream sandwiches and a chocolate bar! Have been doing this for two weeks and felt confident and then - stressed today about family and immediately wanted sugary foods. I hope this gets easier at some point.

SO hot outside! It does seem to cut my appetite. I still get the munchies in the evening and have set a strict rule of NO FOOD between 10pm and 8am. To jafray4 - How I remember those tempting snack food leftovers for my kids! Not enough to save and the choice is toss it or eat it quick. Good for you for resisting.

Been there too - lost 100 pounds and gained it all back, kept losing and gaining about 15 pounds after that. Now I finally feel committed to lose at least 50 pounds, maybe more. The difference for me is focusing on eating healthy food, not just counting calories. Vitamin-rich vegis and fruit plus protein does fill me up…

I watched a documentary on Netflix this weekend and WOW! It hit me that I should be eating healthy non-processed food! I always focused on the calories but with better quality food, I think I will feel more "full" and maybe even live longer.
-
Congrats on losing 40 pounds and your activity level is impressive too!

Under REPORTS you can see your intake of specific vitamins. I did not realize I was low in potassium and iron and have started adding foods rich in these.

Hey! Our group has 27 members! Encouraged to read your stories and comments. Had a good day, after finding out I lost 2 more pounds, I was motivated to get out and go to a museum and do some walking.
