I am 5'3 and 138. I would be happy at 130. I am curvy so I feel like I will always weigh a little more than most at my height but oh well. Where the fat is distributed is more important anyway so I keep track of my measurements more.

Thanks :). I know I should ignore negative people but I've had women look disgusted at me because I was wearing yoga pants. I realize it's probably because I am not thin and it looks sexual. But to be honest, that's not my fault. I like doing yoga and I'm not going to do it in a bin bag to satisfy the women in a cafe…

Thanks! this is very helpful :flowerforyou:

Thanks for the tips. I am already quite fond of a good old high waisted skirt :). I think casual dress is the real killer haha.

Preach :flowerforyou:

Thanks that's very kind.

Yes that's true. I guess I just mean someone who isn't very curvy and is slender. They get away with almost all casual clothes.
-
I've never used the gym for weight and it's usually filled with men. Should I have a member of staff advice me on what weights I should lift? Because my sister has a personal trainer and he told her to not bother with lifting and to work on cardio?
-
I'm just exchanging words and ideas. Yet again, here you are. If you don't like me exchanging ideas with "very intelligent people" maybe just avoid replying to my posts. That would be a perfect solution for you.

:grumble:
-
So you're saying lift weights? I would be a little conscious doing that to be honest.
-
True. Sometimes I feel thankful for my curves and other days I'm like why is my body such an effort!
-
Yeah this is the easiest option for casual. I hear you on the thigh issue! I like wearing tighter tops because it shows I have a waist but then it looks like I'm trying to show off my chest. It's so annoying.
-
Haha
-
Do you boo
-
True! Only problem is that clothes that don't really suit me are the ones I need to wear the most. Casual clothes!
-
Ok I want to decrease body fat if that makes it clearer.
-
I'm quite weak and I don't know if this would really benefit me. I do yoga and that has worked for me. For what I want it to work for.
-
Well I don't know the word it would be more PC to use on this site but you all are aware of what I am trying to say....
-
Well, I probably didn't word that perfectly. I am not trying to strength train but aim to reduce fat and sculpt the overall bodyshape. If this is achieved by lifting then sure. I must admit I am not strong so I don't know if it's really suited to me.
-
But "toning" has always worked for me. I usually do yoga and stretches and for some reason it knocks inches off me. Especially my waistline and thighs.
-
Yoga, stretches and anything that aims to free up certain areas of the body. I call bull**** on anyone who says toning is rubbish. I lose most of my inches from toning certain areas of the body. Be it waist twist, yoga or dumbells. It works for me :)

I don't want to look bulky.

I slightly prefer her before. She looks very girl next door after, whereas before she was noticeable.
-
I think it's more about the beauty of the face than the shape.
-
Yeah! That makes sense.
-
Yes, that's me in my pic. I am not thin but wouldn't describe myself as fat. I really want to get my body fat calculated to end the confusion. Is there an inexpensive way of doing this at all? I know we used to have scales that tested body fat but I have no idea where that is these days :/.
-
Yeah my waist is about 25 inches and hips 38. My waist to hip circumference is good which is why I'm confused.
-
Okay, but how am I supposed to know what to follow? My waist to hip ratio is excellent and my waist to height ratio implies I am too thin. So with all the "science" conflicting itself what now?
-
Yes. I heard that BMI was created by a mathematician who had no intention of it being used as a measure of health. I think my BMI is about 24 too. But I don't feel (nearly) overweight or anything. I actually also used to waist to hip indicator and it said I was "excellent". Some people argue where fat is distributed is the…
