I Googled Broscience, BTW- the Urban Dictionary definition made me laugh my *kitten* off. I can't even begin to describe all the Broscience I've received over the years. Especially in the 90's when lifting was huge. I admit it... I wore Zuffas.

I am married to an "older" woman. We met when I was 27 and have been together for 13 years. Older women rule. They know what they want, aren't afraid to ask for it, are still very sexy and could teach you a few things... Happy hunting.

I've had lower back problems for most of my life. Core excercises help in so many ways and yoga has a lot of them. If you add a kettle bell or medicine ball to a lot of the poses- it can feel more like regular excercise and combat boredom because you don't have to maintain the pose as long. And naked Yoga is awesome...

You seem like the kind of guy that says what's on his mind. I'm the same way. And yes, I would be more inclined to take fitness advice from someone in much better shape than me. It means they know their stuff. but I'm going weigh said advice against what I know. Its not my fault people misinterpret what I wrote and get…

I can run a 5k- i had back surgery and can't run without severe pain Dead lifts are out for the same reason My total cholesterol is around 240 My BP is 120/70 on the average I have chronic back pain 24/7- how's that for a medial problem? Now, if you read MY ENTIRE post, instead of just the first sentence you would be able…

Actually, I had never heard of DDP Yoga until your post- but coincidentally, I tried to become a professional wreslter in the 90's and was sidelined by a back injury- ending my potential career as a wreslter. Years later, my ruptured disc never healed, I ruptured 3 more and had back surgery in 2010 (4-level Lumbar Fusion).…

You're right. I should try a different approach... If you want to meet lots of women, go to a Yoga class near you!

I uses them almost exclusively for strength training. After back surgery the Dr. said weight lifting was a no-no, so I had to switch to resistance bands. There are a lot of combo-excercises that you can use them for and simultaneously work several muscles at once. You won't see the size gains that would get from free…

I was going to let this guy slide- but since people want to agree with him: Where in my OP did I say to someone "Your way sucks and I am better than you since I am more fit?" His ENTIRE paragraph has nothing to do with anything I wrote. "And people are on MFP for fitness advice and support?" I see a LOT of people berrating…

There is HUGE difference between Coaches and arm-chair fitness experts which is what I was referring to. Besides, most coaches/trainers were at one time, in excellent physical condition. Arnold may be old an flabby now, but there was a time when he put all of us to shame, so of course I would take his advice- because he's…

He is a separate contractor who works out of the gym. You can pay an extra fee to tap into his infinite knowledge. However, if you keep your ears open you will get his instruction by proxy.

Actually, he does do that! His first conversation with me went like this: "You move less of the rest of your body- it will make you concentrate on the muscle better." While I was doing combo-exercises with resistance bands- that are intended to use more than just "the muscle you are trying to work out" because they work…

My suggestion: keep your diary private. there are a lot of peeps that will berate you for your food choices, if you miss a workout, what your pic looks like etc. For some, this can be motivation- but it's clear that a lot of them do so with the "I'm better than you" intent and are doing it just to be mean. I agree with…

You can also enter customize exercises. If you know how many calories you burn during an exercise you can enter them manually. Determining how many calories you burn is the trick. A fitness tracker might be a good way to gauge it.

Honestly, they don't make any that fit well. Tight workout pants compress your "boys" and you might have to make an adjustment in front of women and children. If you wear the ones with a cup pocket, now you look like a ballet dancer (not that there's anything wrong with that- unless you look like me and could not possibly…

Would you want to learn how to swim from someone that was drowning?
-
Thank you! You understand my point precisely.

You read an awful lot into my post that wasn't there. If you CHOOSE to be offended by what I said, that's your choice. I was merely saying that there are a lot of people that spout fitness advice without knowing a damn thing about it. My guess is, you're one of those touting the "latest and greatest" fitness craze and my…

Thats almost 20% of your former body weight. You should be very proud of your accomplishment. That's a huge leap in the right direction.
