Your commitment is so inspiring, Mollie. I'm glad you're able to move past the setbacks (which happen, because we're human as you said in your update!). I'm so excited for you to reach your goal! I, unfortunately, have not been doing so well. The last week has been disasterous food-wise, though I have been exercising…

Thank you, Mollie and Steph. I've looked through some of the posts on the first thread, Mollie, and I think I'll keep doing so. There's something to say for knowing you aren't alone, that others are struggling with similar things. Apropos, the girl in I Used to be Fat's mother is eerily similar to my parents. They also did…

Thanks for taking the time to reply, Mollie. You're right, what I'm really looking for is changing how I react to my parents. I don't blame them, I just wish I had been able to think differently, more maturely, when I was younger and this all began. I've been to a therapist, but I didn't find him particularly helpful. He…

I've never done this, but it might be a great way to remain accountable. Even beyond that, it would be an excellent support system, especially where half the battle is emotional/mental. It'd be great to be able to talk to people who understand the challenges, struggles, etc. associated with losing weight. I have Skype, but…

Mollie: It must've felt great to hear people acknowledge your hard work and even more so to feel the difference in yourself (regarding not thinking about food, and instead enjoying yourself, etc.!) Glad to hear the party went well! Steph: Glad you're back! Sounds like those challenges will definitely keep you busy. Good…

Great job everyone! My weigh in: SW- 224 Week 1- 222

Hi everyone! Hope your weekends have been great. Mine was pretty laid back and it was nice to have absolutely nothing pressing to do for a change! Just wanted to check in and share that this pretty plaid shirt I bought while studying abroad now buttons! When I bought it, I didn't try it on because it was in a regular…

Hi everyone! I'm from Nova Scotia. I like the idea of the encouragement, support, and accountability available through MFP; feel free to add!

Sigra's ideas are good. You could also try upping your calories burned. Since MFP operates on a calorie deficit system, increasing your exercise would give you a few more calories to eat per day.

Sounds good :) SW: 220 GW: 210

Very excited for this! SW: 220 HP GW: 199

Thanks for tips, Steph and Mollie! I'm actually quite proud of how I did tonight. I only had two slices of baguette, took just a sip of the cream-filled apperatif (sp?) to try it, skipped the appetizer, chose the main course that seemed to me to have the least fatty/caloric sauce (a balsamic reduction), and allowed myself…

Good for you on taking control of the chocolate, Steph! It's so hard to do mid-weigh through eating. Rainbow, well done on no soda or tea! I went over my calories today. Ate so much sushi! It was delicious and if I'd enjoyed all of it from the very beginning and consciously made the choice, "Well, I'm still hungry, it's…

It happens; so hard to resist sometimes. Way to go on the positive attitude, though! A little junk food here and there is ok. It seems like overall you're doing really well. Keep it up!

SW (26/04/11): 224 GW (21/06/11: 199 Maybe a little lofty, but I really want to strive to get out of the 200s! Good luck everyone!

I'm in as well :)

Well done on getting back on track, Mollie. While it's not ideal, holidays come up and over-eating happens. As Steph quoted, it's consistency not perfection! Congratulations on the minutes of cardio as well! Sometimes it's so hard to squeeze in those workouts. Also, would you mind if I friended you? I'm sorry to hear you…

A nutritionist may help in the sense that he/she will be able to help you create an individualized meal plan that will keep you energized and (hopefully) full throughout the day. One thing that rarely fails to be true on days I binge is that I didn't eat breakfast and sometimes even lunch. For me, it's been six years and…

Excellent work with the exercise, Steph! 3500 cal/week would be phenomenal! What kinds of exercise do you like to pair together when you do two workouts/day? And congratulations on the half portion of ice cream! I have trouble with limiting myself to just one serving of sweets, so I'm avoiding them altogether for now. I'm…

Thanks, Mollie! It's definitely a relief to be finished. My name is Asha. Well done on the exercise this week! Kudos on the time management. It's hard to get to bed on time, I find. Sometimes, the harder I try to get to bed by a certain time, the more things it seems I have to do and the later I end up going to sleep!…

Great job everyone! And a good thread; it's so much easier to focus on the slip ups than the positive changes. Sometimes they just seem so small, even though they are important! Today, knowing I was eating dinner with my parents and that it would be high-calorie, refined carb pasta with store-bought sauce, I planned my day…

Sounds great! I'll finally have lots of time to spend on myself (just finished my undergrad science degree!) this summer, and I plan on making it count. It's been way too easy to put it off on account of school, studying, exams, etc. (or ruin any progress I'd made during exam period), but I'm excited to get this ball…

Great idea! I'm definitely in! :)
