Not at all. There are propulsion and balance issues! You have to run at/on the curve to get the belt moving forward. Until you get used to the movement it takes a surprising amount of concentration. I've almost come off a few times lol!

They have a woodway at my gym. Had a few balance problems to start with, but you get used to it. It is exhausting!!! Tend to have my proper run on a regular treadmill, then a few weights/squats, then a slowish jog on the manual treadmill as a cool down.

Don't they get soggy?!

This is so true! Need to prioritise what you want, unlimited biscuits or a fat Arsenal!!

There was something on the BBC a while back about the being no "off switch" for some people eating foods with equal amounts of sugar and fat. The theory is that if it's all sugar, or all fat, you're less likely to overeat. I try moderating biscuits/chocolate that have the sugar/fat mix, but otherwise don't avoid either…

Well done lady! The thing about your story that resonated with me was being mentally ready for something better. My journey so far is only 28lbs, but much much more in terms of outlook and wellbeing!

I'm missing the outrage of friends noticing the weightloss....! I guess their filter is off since they know you already?!? I would honestly feel fine with any friend calling me skinny lol! I'd probably even love them a little more for that!!!

You look like Kate Middleton in your new pic!!!

If it helps I've lost 2 stone and gone from 38c to 32e, 6 inches off bust and under bust. It can improve hugely! I would say they've improved in perkiness as well, but that's more to do with using the chest press in the gym..

I didn't have any luck with insoles, but aisics motion control trainers (and wearing low-ish heels!) fixed it for me. I need to avoid completely flat shoes with no support. Ibuprofen gel on the arches also got me through some tough times!

Nah that's sprouts! The only way to reclaim them from the claws of satan is to hide them under a thick cloak of curry sauce. I cavolo nero here.

Yep that's dry!

Instead of typical UK portion of 75g I usually go with 50 or 60 then bulk it out with tomatoes/veg depending if hot or cold meal. Slightly less cals but not feeling too deprived! I noticed in France the suggested serving size on my bag of penne was 60g so not sure why it's so much more for us greedy Brits!!!

Apparently it's a "crapshoot" if it works or not lol
-
The only thing I noticed is it makes coffee taste a bit bitter... I eat a lot of Asian food so heavy use of garlic is more of an issue! Maybe mention to hygienist next visit...

Strawberries with a bit of truvia (stevia) on the side if not sweet enough without..

Thanks, this is my 3rd type of tracker and the number of steps feel right, it's just the calorie credits being so low is hard to adjust to! Garmin is so much more advanced though, have a feeling it's probably correct!!
-
While I'm here, has anyone tracking steps with Vivoactive/Garmin connect previously used Fitbit? I'm not sure if Garmin is more accurate but I'm getting only half the calories Fitbit earned me! I'm so hungry!!! Before 13,000 steps would earn me 400+ cals, I'm lucky now to get 200 for the same step count...
-
New Vivoactive user here, feel free to add :) Numberwang on there

Mine is open too but far from perfect....should be back on track after weekend! Mine is 1200 and eating ALL exercise calories as Garmin stingy compared to Fitbit I'm 5'3" BMI about 24, trying to get lower... lost 2 st over 18 months nice and slow!
-
I just ease off/ slow down the speed when I get that pain and it usually goes enough for me to carry on. Eventually you'll get to run longer/harder before you get it.

Not tried it but heard that olive oil hardened on a plate in the fridge can make a butter substitute.
-
Im also a closet butter fiend, cottage cheese could be your friend here. Nice on toast or jacket spuds. When trying to be good I have less butter and more marmalade on my toast at breakfast. The other thing is to switch to foods that requires less butter in the first place - muesli? ;)

My diary is a shameful admission of guilt right now but it's open, go ahead! Back on the wagon imminently...

Agree, my resilience for dealing with all sorts of stress has improved dramatically since dropping from overweight to normal. I not only have better reserves but give less of a f@&k what anyone else thinks as well! Win win.

I can't see Bigelow without thinking, 'Deuce Bigalow, male gigolo' lol!! Mines a Clipper organic with dash of milk and stevia, thanks!
-
My starting weight was about 72kg but aiming for 57kg in 2016, 5 to go!! I think that's 125lbs in old money ;)

Advice from an old dear :) You are 2 individuals in a relationship, it's alright having different opinions and not everything (dieting/whatever) has to be done together. Ideally a supportive partner would be cheerleading you on, but regards your own weight just get on with it & put your own needs first. Also if the…

What foods do you think you are getting too much sodium from?

This is approach we take as well. Sometimes we'll eat very different portion sizes of the same dish but I'll bulk out mine with lots of veg. Other times I'll just have my own lighter veg alternative. We tend to batch cook at the weekends so I usually have one veg curry or stew I can have as & when needed. Also freeze…
