Yes sure this is a thing. I notice that to the touch the skin is squidgy and a bit cold, then within a couple of days flat and a bit firmer. Almost like it happens in layers/cycles but each time preceding a drop in weight.

Yeah the pain/bruising is fairly short lived. I hoop occasionally and it hasn't come back.

My takeaway from this though was that the increased activity (steps) and diet was most effective for both fat loss and health. The sit-ups which you could class as body weight/strength was of no benefit other than aesthetic. I found it interesting as the received wisdom here is to 'lift heavy' whereas their research…

Interesting story on the bbc today http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-36763102 just good old diet and exercise...

That sounds bland, literally what meals can you have?! I eat a lot of vegan Asian vegetarian food as my main meal of the day (I'm not vegan so eat whatever I want otherwise) but cannot imagine leaving seasonings and oil out, my tastebuds would seriously suffer!! What's a typical meal for you?

They had me at playing fetch!

Yes this! Toning = no wobbly bits!
-
I'm similar height to you and mine only significantly reduced when I got down to low 130's. For me it went pretty flat - in past tense as I'm about 137 currently and it's all back! Just seems to be my nemesis!

I thought it was simply lifestyle and genes. I'm erring on the side of caution (no major vices!) since genes not so great.
-
Absolutely this! It really is just maintaining a deficit.

Not going to state the obvious on spot reduction, but I found running and front squats have given good overall appearance. Cycling isn't great for me and tends to bulk them ...they look and feel bigger in clothes. Unfortunately I have a knee problem and doing more cycling now, but keeping resistance low...

Fitbit zip was probably the best for weightloss for me. I've had a few different devices, misfit was worst. Currently using Garmin Vivoactive. Although cheap and cheerful the zip was super accurate for for me at least.

Honestly I think people forget how small being normal weight is! I had a few 'don't lose any more' at top end of normal BMI, I still have a few wobbly bits and not even halfway to middle range. I'm focused on my stuff and not really paying attention to people's weird perceptions of what's a healthy weight.

I cauliflower riced for dinner tonight for the first time! I used it to cut my basmati - sceptical but worked really well. Farting a lot but worth it for the calories!! Had enough to fit in nightcap tonight, sweet

This too! If you were close to goal weight then I'd understand. If currently over 220lbs I wouldn't worry about 1000 goal either, especially under Dr supervision. Personally I'd listen to your doc & if losing too fast dial it back a bit.

Tunnocks caramel wafer fan here! Not a lot of veg there, I'd add cauliflower or green veg and apples for good stool action ;) Good luck!
-
Same for me too, I do both squats and running but appearance is so much better the more running I do. Weights/squats just seem to push any fat further out making legs look huge. Not a good look for me!
-
With you on disco, and BeeGees for cardio! Currently Spotify disco beats playlist... You can tell by the way I use my walk....
-
Running worked for me much better than doing weights. Weights didn't really do anything to the layer of fat and just made legs look bigger overall. Running has helped reduced body fat and cellulite pretty much gone on legs, which are now way firmer!

There's a book called the 'takeaway secret' where the author gives the recipe for creating takeaway dishes... The good thing is you get to control the quality and quantity of ingredients but still get the flavour! If you're not exactly loving heathy food - and it isn't for everyone - I'd make healthier versions of tasty…

Not sure if still there, but a few years ago went to a restaurant called Seasons 52 that has everything calorie counted - smaller Brit sized portions! Still think about the stuffed chillis.... Yum!

I'm almost your stats twin! I'm half inch taller, ahem a little older, 137 and 24% body fat. I would like to get down to about 126lbs.
