I suggest tracking your exercises, number of sets and repetitions instead of doing for X minutes. So let's say you do 2x 20 lunges today while resting for a minute between each 20. Record them down and either increase the repetitions or the number of sets whenever you feel like your body is too comfortable with your…

Because she needs the vitamins and minerals along with insoluble fiber from vegetables and fruits, soluble fiber from legumes. And it's redundant to take them in forms of supplements when she can have better eating habits. What's the point of cutting down her carbs to 40 grams? Please explain your reasoning if you're…

As a non-native English speaker, whenever I see that R, I think about Toys R Us -.-

Full body workout is where you train your whole body, arms, shoulders, back, chest, abdomen, quadriceps, calves, glutes etc via different exercises. It's one of the most commonly used workout compared to an alternating upper body and lower body workout. The thing with weight lifting is that you need to give time off for…

I usually eat 2 whole eggs and any amount of whites if needed. Let's say it is 2 whole+5 whites I could theoretically eat 7 whole eggs but that is around 1800 mg of cholesterol. Whereas I agree that dietary cholesterol has little effect on LDL levels, that goes for 1-2 eggs. 7 eggs is around 622% of dietary cholesterol…

You need to drink more water with higher protein intake anyway. It doesn't matter if the protein is from a shrimp or a shake. Unrelated to above but related to shakes; protein shakes are only fortified in vitamins and some minerals to enchance protein absorption. Most importantly what they usually (and they have) lack…

Your weight is not unhealthy so you should never aim for a fast loss. What you can lose though, is some fat mass. For that, a mild cardio~ brisk walk of 20 minutes every day and 45-60 minutes of medium to heavy weight lifting~ full body workout twice a week will be more effective for you. Online calculators give around…

She doesn't need to cut her carbs that low. She's 18 (or younger since the site is full of minors who say they're 18) and probably doing just cardio, she needs those carbs. OP, you're not eating enough of anything. Medically speaking, you're still growing up. You gave us nothing about your height and weight and unless you…

I think what you are asking for is positive discrimination. That's not equality. I'm fine with opening my my doors, carrying my bags or anything. I would only think less of a man when he doesn't help me when I'm crashed under heavy bags, when he doesn't hold the door after he goes through it first and slam it on my face…

You can make your own peanut butter if you have a food processor or anything similar. Same goes for any nut butters. For 8 oz. of roasted, unsalted nut, you add 1 (or 2 if you like it sweet) tablespoon of honey. You grind the mixture in the processor until it's creamy. You may add a tablespoon of oil of your choice and a…

One day of lower calories than your goal won't hurt anything but if you're not comfortable with going low, you can have a handful of nuts (if you don't have allergies) for around 100 cal. and cut tat 240cal deficit you think to half.

Yes, it's counterproductive with most food. If you weight 4 oz. meat raw, you can log it perfectly fine as raw and add other ingredients but suppose you baked it without weighing raw and it say 3 oz now. It's all about the water loss and water loss depends on how a food is cooked and how long it's cooked so the meat,…

I think it looks good. Hope you're less confused about weighing raw thing. You'll get used to it once you start using that :flowerforyou:

Next time if you use the recipe calculator under the Food tab, you'll have an easier time, especially if it's a recipe you use regularly ;) Measure and log everything in raw, decide on number of servings and voila! I think 7.4 oz sounds okay, maybe a bit overestimated but it's better to be on the safe side.
-
Use the raw if you weighed the meat raw. If you haven't, just guesstimate how heavy your meat could be before cooked and add the calories from oil, condiments, vegetables etc whatever you use in your recipe.

I'm not an endocrinologist but I do know studies where goiter patients already had high magnesium levels so without checking on yours, it's not wise to take a supplement blindly. Some people with goitre also has manganese deficiency and there are few studies where a manganese supplement improved overall symptoms. It's very…

I guess you are basing it on this: That's a huge discovery! Not. They are only a bit more informed about why the BMR is increased in winters. It's quite possible to measure the BMR of people living in cold climates already. As brown fat is rumored to be activated as a heating mechanism against cold, that's already…

This is the problem for me. It doesn't specify how it was cooked. Cooking method matters for meat especially comparing 6g of fat in cooked vs 1g of fat in raw~ It surely doesn't take 27 oz of raw chicken to get 4.5 oz of cooked meat so I would definitely not use it. That's around 40 unknown calories for me. And since my…

Iodine is decently tolerable over the RDI. My mom had goitre but hers was due to iodine deficiency and took no thyroid supplement. Is yours thyroid related? Since you area vegetarian, I'd suggest kelp and cranberries over any iodine tablets, kelp has tremendous amounts of iodine. As for selenium, you can try Brazil nuts…

What kind of science is that? Can you cite the articles? Besides some authors with fad diets?

Gosh the big numbers. I'm used to using kg and kJs. Very nice! Actually human body is estimated to have a specific heat capacity of around 3480 j/g-1c-1, you don't need to assume a giant water ball. However study on mice showed that high body fat mice has much lower heat capacity compared to lean mice so your numbers will…

Mine is always open but we have a slight problem if you're pescatarian. My staples are chicken and dairy. You can still try a bit more on eggs. 2 whole eggs + any amount of egg whites you want in an omelette with vegetables (or anything really) will be decent protein on somewhat low calories.

Don't be too harsh on yourself either ;) It's not a typical 'oh, I had a bad day I need comfort food'. Operation: wisdom tooth was the physically suckiest time of my life.

Okay, sorry I completely skipped this part. Nighttime sweating and freezing may be a symptom of some conditions like hypoglycemia or hormonal problems like thyroid. See if it still continues for a week or two~ enough time to adjust if it's a dietary issue, and if it does you may want to see a physician.

Iron shouldn't be an OTC supplement. It's a heavy metal and yes, human body needs it in trace amounts but that doesn't change the fact that unsupervised supplements can lead to accumulation and then serious health problems. Please talk to a physician before you take anything.

All that I've tried! The aftertaste is exactly like cough meds for me. Also whipped cream on anything including human body, just no.

Have you tried baby food? Most jarred fruity desserts for babies and toddlers are surprisingly good, certainly not a diet breaker, no need to chew at all. Even baby biscuits in milk made me happy when I got four stitches in my mouth and wasn't able to open it even for an inch. If you don't mind the carbs and some added…

*bows* Thank you. One of the few times in life that being a movie buff helps. Michael J. Fox was in Mars Attacks! with Jack Nicholson. Jack Nicholson was in A Few Good Men with Kevin Bacon. Still, Helen Mirren!
