the box gives the raw weight and calories so I'd go with that (you can probably find cooked weights in MFP - just need to make sure you look up whichever way you have weighed it - but raw will be more accurate).

you realize colonics will do nothing for fat loss, right?
-
you will never put on muscle at a rate that outpaces fat loss though - that's the thing. and to grow muscle you need something to grow it from - a calorie surplus (not just protein). 1000 calories per day would not put you anywhere near a calorie surplus. you must have been eating more in the past (while lifting) to gain…

why are you eating "up to 1000" calories per day?? that is not nearly enough for an adult! you are certainly not putting on muscle mass eating that little either. the good news/bad news is you are likely eating a lot more than you think you are - enough to be losing 1kg/month - but if you were truly eating 1000…

no - it doesn't work that way. increasing your calories is never the way to lose weight - unless you are suggesting that when she started eating more she also increased her activity? a much more likely explanation is that she is eating more than she thinks - as noted above.

another vote for diet - coke zero for life!!

I mix 40g of regular pancake mix with 40g of protein powder - simple and quick (makes one large waffle in my waffle maker). Tastes better (to me) than kodiak due to the protein powder flavor and cheaper! (I use either water, egg whites or milk to mix with it - depending on what I have or feel like at the time)

I was waiting for the j/k at the end of this but it never came. as others have said, there is no "toning" a muscle and certainly not doing this. lower body fat (through calorie deficit) and building muscle will help you get the look it sounds like you are after.
-
if you want to drink your calories there are so many better ways to do it - make your own smoothies, shakes, etc. - you can make them taste better, have better macros and cost a fraction of what those shakes do.
-
Another vote for protein powder - whichever flavor you want - gives it taste as well as ups the protein!

900lb man who refers to himself as "just big-boned"

repeating this doesn't make it any more true. why are you assuming it is the diet pepsi that caused their problems? probably lots of things they all do (i.e. drink water? watch television? own pets?) - as others said, correlation is not the same as causation.

protein bar? granola bar?

coming up on a year from the first post - would be great to get an update!
-
if you just eat less of whatever you were eating before you will lose weight and save $$$
-
how are you measuring your calorie intake? that matters more than the hours at which you drink green tea, the amount of water you take in or the walking that you are doing. edit to add - you are not putting on muscle mass walking if that is what you are thinking either...
-
what exactly were you hoping for here? people to say "omg, a diet pill is probably the magic fix no one else has thought of yet''?? think about it, if there was a magic pill for weight loss wouldn't everyone just take that and not bother with the whole eating well and exercise thing? if all the fad diets you tried in the…

have you seen the bodies of long distance runners??
-
why does it have to be a drink and not something that you just pop in the microwave? frozen meals? leftovers from the night before? lots of food options that don't require any "meal prep" work.

fixed the wording in my response - but glad you knew what I meant! even if it means driving a bit further to a different gym, I'd rather do that and love the place rather than going through what you described above!
-
someone asked this in a previous post, but you may not have seen it among all the other responses: are you using 15lbs for every exercise you do? because that doesn't really make sense. no program should have you doing chest flyes (just as an example) with the same weight you are squatting. I am confused by this too.
-
find a new gym that you like? build one at home? if you don't like the place it will be very difficult to stay motivated enough to keep going to it.
-
tried it and thought it tasted like *kitten* - is really just like overpriced protein shakes. if you want to drink your calories, you can make your own protein shakes for a lot less. or, you know, eat regular food at a deficit to lose weight.
-
this is all very disordered thinking. you said this gives you a lot to think about, but have you thought about going back to treatment or a therapist about all this??
-
she is looking for a guided exercise app - don't think MFP takes you through any specific workouts/exercises.
-
first week is usually a big loss due to water weight. give it some time and it will likely level off pretty quickly. keep in mind 1200 is the lowest MFP recommends - any exercise you do on top of that you should eat a portion of those calories back.

another trip to another walmart and completely sold out of mint chip :-(
-
If you believe all this is true, how do you account for people that use IF to maintain or gain weight?
-
muscle growth is something measured in months and years - not a week or two - as other said, weight loss isn't linear and it is most likely water weight.

I've had trouble finding the Mint Chip version of this. found that walmart stocks it, but it is usually gone by the time I get there and my Metro doesn't even stock the Mint Chip one. Have people found the Mint Chip at any other Metros (wondering if it is worth driving somewhere else to track them down)..
