Yes. The calories from fruit and vegetables can easily make your deficit disappear.

Agreed completely. I play staff as well, and have found certain moves getting easier as I've been getting healthier.

Yep, you need to make changes that you can see yourself sticking to for the rest of your life. Sending a friend request now :)

Have you tried something like hula-hooping or playing staff? I play staff myself, and burn about 300 calories in a half-hour or so, and come out of it with the time having flown by and a big smile on my face. It's exercise, but it really doesn't feel like it.

Definitely add some resistance training in there - it can be a huge help. Also, try and make sure that you're logging accurately (make use of a food scale if you aren't already).

From an alcohol perspective, a shot with soda or a diet drink will save you on some calories. Try and avoid having conversations near where the snacks are laid out - you're far more likely to mindlessly eat if it's within arm's reach. Before grabbing something, have an internal conversation with yourself as to whether you…

Set yourself goals. Specific, measurable goals with a deadline, and read them every day. They'll help to keep you on track when you have something specific to aim at.

I've done a Paul McKenna hypnosis CD, and it actually works pretty well. I definitely found myself eating more mindfully and stopping eating when I was full without feeling the need to finish everything off.

Have you considered adding things like protein powders with full cream milk into your diet? Those allow you to up your calories without the same satiety factor as whole foods.

That depends on you. Its features are fantastic for tracking your weight and calories and providing you with motivation, but you need to commit to using it. I find that when I enter my calories in there every day and am committed to tracking everything I eat and the exercise I do, it works brilliantly.

If you're not looking to count calories, a couple of things that might help are eating slowly and mindfully, stopping eating when you're about 80% full, and adding in extra fruit and veg into your meals. It is definitely possible - I lost about 22 kg a few years back without counting calories or exercising before I…

I'd personally recommend getting a set of the adjustable ones that have cuffs and removable weights so that you can increase the weight as your strength grows, and use different weights depending on what muscle group you're working.

Welcome :) Feel free to add me. There are lots of good vegetarian sources of protein: beans, peas, quinoa, nuts, tofu, chickpeas etc etc etc. First thing I'd suggest is to decide on a realistic weight loss goal - unless you have lots to lose, 2 lb a week may not be achievable. Then, make sure you log everything you eat. A…

There's something called the false spotlight effect where people think that others are paying more attention to them than they actually are. The vast majority of people in gym don't care about other people around them or what they're doing, and the way I look at it, if someone does have a disparaging opinion about me, it…

Click on settings > Update diet/fitness profile. It'll ask you a few questions and suggest a calorie goal for you based on your responses.

I also really like my scale which measures your body fat %. While it's not 100% accurate (only really measures the % for your lower body), it at least can give you regular feedback as to your body composition relative to the previous day / week.

I personally find that weighing myself every day helps to keep me accountable. I understand that water retention can cause large fluctuations, and so if I jump up, it doesn't stress me out much - it does make me look back on the previous day and assess whether there was anything I could have done better though. I also…
