  • Wow!!!! Very inspiring! We have similar body types and this is very motivating for me to keep doing what I'm doing. My birthday is later this month and I started my "diet" on June 2nd, and I wanted to lose a good chunk by then ;)
  • Your body is amazing!! I mean....wow!!!! It's awesome it sounds like you're not too militant about your diet. You are letting yourself enjoy the process and giving yourself some room for "cheats" - that's great! I am totally inspired by your post because I want your body...haha that came out wrong...kind of :p
  • No issues at all....thank god, lol.
  • I mainly walk at the moment. I actually walk to the stores a lot, since it gives me a purpose and makes it less of an aimless walk - for example, I just discovered that I love the route that takes me to Target is 2 miles away and pretty scenic. I've been walking there, picking up a few things I need that fills up my…
  • I save more calories for the last 5-ish hours of my day. I'll have a filling dinner and even dessert and that helps a LOT with the before-bed hunger problems I've had from time to time. But to answer your question directly, if I'm just a tad hungry I will just drink coffee (or diet soda if we have it) and ignore it. If my…
  •
  • That's what I'm going to do tomorrow! :) I am going to try making a mock Trader Joe's eggplant and roasted red pepper spread/dip.
  • If their regular form isn't doing it for you at the moment, my favorite trick is to roast a big tray of them in the oven. Then puree them into a soup by adding some low sodium veg stock or just water. You can add beans or meat or noodles or whatever you want to the soup.
  • What is with this obsession everybody has with working out and trying to eat only 1200 calories? Is it an airborne virus or something?
  • I heart MFP!!! I used Fitday for years which is like a solitary cold dungeon (though their progress graphs are superb). Then I switched to Sparkpeople which is colorful and happy looking, but the forum is so innocent...so vanilla. When I finally discovered MFP I had NO IDEA it would be like THIS. I learn new things all the…
  • This is exactly what I was seeking some in depth info on, and BAM, right there in front of me is my answer. :)
  • I was wondering the same thing, so thanks for making this thread! :) In the past I have noticed a difference after just 10 lbs - looser fitting clothes, not perpetually bloated anymore (since in the first 10 lbs you get that big "water weight whoosh" and you start eating less of course so I don't feel full with food 99% of…
  • Sorry, apparently my comment was not worded properly, I apologize for it ruffling any feathers - believe me, I'm not normally a, umm, feather ruffler, lol. What I meant was, as a couple people have graciously suggested on my behalf, that if humans ate and moved as we are meant to, I don't think extreme obesity would exist.…
  • 3 diff types of ice cream, mayo, hot fudge, caramel sauce.....you name it we've got it! All my evil coniving bf's *grrr* ;p
  • WHOAH!!! That difference is night & day! And...ummm...you're really cute too...just sayin'....and I love that suit!!! :)
  • 1800...250lbs, light workouts 3-4x week
  • Sounds good to me (and not just because I'm reading while hungry, lol)! But like everyone says, you're going to have to come up with other meals as well, as to not get into a rut :)
  • THIS!^^ I don't want to say a special magic number for the scale to show, because I'm losing slowly and don't wanna pressure myself. Simply not binging will be awesome!! July is my bday month so it's somehow extra motivating to do well.
  • Love this!^^^ Sure, everyone should love themselves no matter what size they are. In fact if everyone loved themselves while fat it could just possibly help them to lose the weight. Self love equals self respect which equals healthy mind and body. I don't see how you can love yourself and continue to treat your body like…
  • As a 257 lb vegetarian - this was just 2 months ago, lordy! Breakfast: 2 eggs, 2 big slices sourdough, giant globs of mayo or butter, tons of cheese, glass of milk Lunch: Fried bean & cheese burrito(s)...tons cheese, mayo and salsa. Dinner: Over half a box of pasta, endless bread and cheeeeeese. With lots of oil on top of…
  • I hope this doesn't come off too creepy, but you're sooooooooooooooooo pretty!!!!!!!!!! Before AND after, your face is just gorgeous!!! Ok, creepy part over:) That is an amazing weight loss story, and with the love aspect thrown in there I feel all mushy and warm and happy now! Thank you for sharing this!
  • This thread is making me miss my vegan days! Thanks for the interesting description of how it's going for you, looks like your body is reacting great to it. I was vegan sporadically since age 14 -- a couple years on, a few years off, and so on. Always been vegetarian though. UNTIL NOW, that is. A few months ago I started…
  • Hard for me to judge this type of diet, because I'd personally be starving. I need a lot more veg to round out meals and feel fuller. I tend to sneak lots of dark leafy greens into everything for a healthful low-cal filler. I know you say you enjoy all those foods, but it just seems so sparse...
  • Just FR'd ya:) I've dealt with this my whole life and am STILL trying to conquer it. I think I am learning, though, not to obsess over not bingeing, but instead put as much focus and energy as I can into cooking healthful foods and exercising. I may still want to down a gallon of ice cream even after having a nutritious…
  • Very thoughtful post! (Sorry to hear you're having a hard time, though.) I agree. I think everyone would help each other tremendously by actually peeking at their food logs.
  • Hahahah love this thread! We have a 3 sibling cat family!! We had their momma too, but she got hit by a car a couple months ago..and well...nothing lasts forever....I can't even think about her yet, it just makes me sick :( But we're lucky to have the 3, they are just over a year old and rule our lives! :D
  • I suppose it's fine to have extra one day and then balance it out with the rest of the week, but I'd to hear some other opinions myself. I pre-logged what I want to eat for dinner later and looks like I'll be over by over a hundred calories, eesh.
  • Since I'm just starting out (again, lol) I do not allow cheat days. I do try to leave extra calories for ice cream a few days a week though! If I were to have a cheat day I'd want it to involve lots of pasta and french bread with olive oil and cheese. Since that is my binge trigger meal there is no way I can do that right…
  • I have been overweight since I was a toddler. My mom fed me junk and I loved food and would ask for seconds all the time. I used it to sooth myself, because I was/am very shy and have terrible anxiety. I sneaked food as a kid and when I was old enough to prepare/cook my own meals I devoured as much food as I could after…
