Echoing the commenters above. Bolthouse Ranch is very good, I actually prefer it over any of the Kraft/Hidden Valley full fat ones, much less greasy tasting.

I try to do my breakfasts and lunches for the week on Sunday. Here is what I did last night, probably took me just slightly over an hour. Breakfasts--cooked steel cut oats, divided into five small containers, added dried cranberries and a sprinkle of cinnamon. (I'll add 1/3 cup of almond milk each morning, and then warm in…

Same. I love popcorn. Movie theater popcorn is the best. I would be sad to give it up entirely. OP, don't let trying to lose weight hinder your social enjoyment! Canceling plans with friends because of your fear of indulging in junk food sounds like a very lonely and sad way to live. A big part of success for me was…

Breakfast--Oatmeal or low fat yogurt (watch the sugar and calories if you buy flavored) Snacks-Fruit, vegetables, etc.

Make sure you're eating enough throughout the day, as has been mentioned a few times above. Personally, sometimes the urge to snack is more mental than true hunger, like when I'm watching TV in the evenings, I try to pick something that takes a long time to eat and is fairly easy on calories, like air popped popcorn and a…

Whatever fits your calories and your life. Regular pre-sliced wheat bread is something that I can pretty easily do without, but include sometimes (eating a PB&J sandwich for lunch, because it's what I had on hand). It's fairly high calories for how much I enjoy and feel satiated by it. However, a nice sourdough? I love it.…

Try to preplan your 3:30 snack. You can definitely budget in some chocolate that time of day, but make it one or two pieces, rather than a whole candy bar from the vending machine. If drinking more water is difficult, get a water bottle or two to keep at your desk. Both of these are things that have worked for me. Good…

Very similar results using the Charge HR Fitbit, estimated my hot vinyasa class at about 350/hour , regular vinyasa flow at about 200/hour. Like posters have said above, the calorie burn for a class like this isn't super reliable, but I would err on the low side of an estimate, rather than the high. I don't eat back my…

It sounds awful, plus adding 2tbsp of butter or coconut oil into coffee adds easily 200-250 calories. I could enjoy some yogurt or toast and eggs for breakfast, and feel much more satiated.

Trader Joe's Peanut Butter and Jelly greek yogurt. I know, it sounds super strange, but it is delicious! Fage peach, and blueberry are my other favorites.

I'm 5'9", I started at 220 and dropped down to 180, unfortunately back up to 192 due to getting lax with tracking combined with a stressful stretch of work (i.e. no time for exercise). I notice a significant difference between how I looked at 180 and how I look at 190. I can barely fit into size 12 pants, the medium shirts…

I prefer skim cow's milk in general, but I like almond milk in oatmeal or smoothies for the taste. Calorically, you're not saving that many calories with a nut or soy milk over skim cow's milk. I was also warned by my GP about soy and the impact it can have on female hormones, particularly if you take any sort of birth…

Weekdays I do a smoothie or oatmeal. Smoothie--1 cup greek yogurt, 1/2 cup skim milk, protein powder, 1/2 cup of frozen mixed berries, 1 banana. Oatmeal --1 serving Steel cut oats, 1/2 cup almond milk, 1/4 cup dried cranberries and generous sprinkle cinnamon. Weekends I do eggs over roasted potatoes. Ham or bacon if I have…

It does reduce the calorie burn, because you're not naturally engaging your muscles to balance yourself. However, as posters above have stated, many people need to do so for safety reasons, or comfort reasons. Ultimately, walking while holding on to the treadmill is better than not walking at all, so good for them!

Stick to the veggie and fish based ones, rather than anything tempura or with cream cheese (like philly rolls, etc.) Fond this with a quick google:http://www.shape.com/healthy-eating/meal-ideas/6-best-low-calorie-sushi-rolls Rice is more calorie dense than I realized when I first started paying attention, so if you can do…

I like to add spice to roasted vegetables to make them a little more exciting. I like Trader Joe's 21 seasoning salute. (to the poster above about mashed cauliflower with laughing cow...I totally just added to my shopping list for next week. I'm intrigued!)

This is why I make a point of eating breakfast. If I wait until lunch I am really hungry and don't feel satiated by a normal meal, and would end up eating way more. But, if your patterns work for you, that's awesome! That's what it's all about is making what you are doing fit your life!

Echoing all of the above. I dabbled with yoga for awhile, then bought a groupon for a studio in my area, which turned out to be the best thing ever. I did an introductory series (1 class a week for 4 weeks), that taught all of the basics. It was a wonderful way to learn the poses and proper form and alignment.

First of all...they are just a food. They are not any magical element that will cause you to lose weight. They are a seed, just like pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, etc. They are a good source of fiber, which in turn can help you feel satiated. I enjoy adding them to yogurt, overnight oats, or smoothies. I have also read…

Ha! Yep. Anytime anything gets mentioned about "toxins" in yoga class, I roll my eyes. Absolutely love yoga, but have to tolerate/ignore a lot of the pseudoscience, homeopathy, etc. that it seems to be paired with frequently.

I do a batch on Sunday and portion it out for four days (typically treat myself to a bagel or breakfast sandwich from a coffee shop on Friday). Boil 4 cups water, add 1 cup steel cut oats, cook at boil for 5-7 minutes, then simmer for 30. Portion out into separate containers. IN the morning I'll add 1/4 cup of dried…

I like pounding them thin and then cooking on a grill pan. Seasoned with Trader Joe's 21 seasoning, or a little Mrs. Dash. Or, toss some in a slow cooker with a jar of salsa, then shred. Perfect for Tacos, quesadillas, etc.

I have never done it personally, but if you Google similar topics, many people have. For how hard it feels like you are exerting yourself in yoga classes (even hot power), it's a pretty normal level of calories burned. Based upon the little bit of research I did the MFP calculation of 150/hr is pretty reasonable.

Very interested!

lol at above. Though as a Packers fan, I'm much more grumpy about the Seahawks. Veggies and hummus, chicken skewers, baked meatballs are all somewhat healthy options! I made really delicious chicken skewers for a party by just cutting some chicken breasts and thighs into chunks, marinating them in teriyaki sauce (I like…

Be careful with the Naked juices, and other smoothie/juices, they can be complete calorie bombs. Water helps me to feel more full, and being properly hydrated has done wonders for my skin.

High in vitamin A and C, good fiber source, fairly low calorie...read the nutrition facts. http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/fruits-and-fruit-juices/1905/2

Have you gone to see a Physical Therapist? This is an article explaining why PT is often better than seeing Chiropractor http://guidedoc.com/4-reasons-why-physiotherapy-is-better-than-chiropractic I think the most convincing point to seeing a PT is that their goal is to train you to not need to see them again, whereas for…

Not possible for some people (like me!) who work in an office all day, in the Midwest, where it sometimes isn't sunny for weeks at a time in the winter. I take a vitamin D supplement on the advice of my doctor, and try to get in lots of foods with vitamin D as well. As far as milk, drink whatever you like that fits into…

This! Now that I think I hopefully have a better handle on calories/nutrition, I think it is a healthy experiment to let myself not track for a day or two every once in awhile and see where I land. I think of it as baby steps into a true lifestyle change of healthy choices, as I certainly don't plan on meticulously calorie…
