I like the Chest, Shoulders and Back one where Phil tells Tony "Will you get lost!" He looks mad! I can imagine them talking smack behind his back whenever they're in the background chatting to eachother while he explains the exercises. Call out your soups!!

I lost my first dozen pounds before I found this site by just eating smaller portions and eating slower to let my brain catch up to my stomach along with a little bit of exercise.

I've tried ephedra(sp) diet pills in the past and lost a lot of weight because I would not feel hungry. I could skip breakfast, have a granola bar for lunch and pretty much anything for dinner. I drank a lot of water as well. Well that weight came back with reinforcements making it harder to turn around again. This time…

You might try this recipe! Okay not really but it's amusing to watch. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3nA2zqeX5Q

Not only do I eat them back but I eat pretty crappy foods, drink soda (non-diet often) and I'm still losing. Eventually I will hit a plateau and when I do I will change my eating habits further but until then I'll enjoy my food, stay under my calorie allotment and eat back my calories because it means more food!

The problem is that he's going to have to want to lose weight. Really want to, not just talk about it. I was EXACTLY like him. I wanted my steaks, bratwurst, McD's, pan crust supreme pizza, chinese buffet.... hmm, I'm getting hungry... what was I going on about again? Oh that's right, it comes down to him dig down and want…

Start him out slow and if he likes his food let him eat what he wants, just have him watch the portion sizes. I am 6' and was 249 when I first started and simply reducing my portion size helped me to lose about 12 pounds before I found MFP. Once he see's results himself hopefully he'll get motivated to start being a little…

You don't have anything logged prior to June 4th. Is that when you started or just when you started logging? When I first started tracking calories I lost 1 pound in 3 weeks. Just keep at it, keep working out, keep eating well and keep eating those exercise calories. Drink your water too and it'll start coming off, just be…

I only do a protein shake after my weight training days as I was told it would reduce my soreness and so far it's been great! I still feel 'tight' around the areas I worked out but it's not unbearable. Before I started adding protein I would be so sore the next few days that it would be painful just to try and straighten…

Snack during the day! If you eat a package of granola bars that's around 200 calories right there. Some of those nutrigrain bars and that sort have a decent number of calories as well. Quite a few people enjoy snacking on almonds throughout the day as well. I try not to snack that much because I have no problems filling in…

If you burn off 300 calories you need to eat 1500 calories that day to net 1200 calories for the day. You don't have your diary public but it sounds as if you only had the chicken salad as your only meal for the day if you still have 1000 calories to eat. I would recommend getting in the habit of eating breakfast to give…

You aren't fueling your body with enough calories so it is clinging on to everything by slowing your metabolism and clinging on to everything it can get. Eat an absolute MINIMUM of 1200 calories. If you work out and burn 500 calories eat 1700 calories that day.

Here's a review I did on a home body fat analyzer: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/260721-gadget-review-omron-body-fat-analyzer Now keep in mind that it's probably not the most accurate way to determine your body fat % however, if you want to take regular readings it certainly is one of the cheaper and faster…

Keep at it! My first 2 weeks my weight didn't budge an inch. I was working out 6 days a week, netting 1500 calories (meaning eating back what I exercised off) and logging everything as I should. After those 2 weeks I dropped 1 pound. Another week went by and I stayed at the same weight then the following week it just…

Polar seems to be the most popular and I've seen some people happy with their Timex as well. If you really get serious about it you can pick up one of those $300 Garmins with GPS. Whatever you do, I couldn't recommend the Sportline brand unless you're really good at figuring out gadgets without clear instructions. That's…

Now that you mention it, soda is great for cleaning off corrosion from your battery terminals. Plus you can drink the rest of the can after you're done cleaning! Mmmm, burns my throat so good! :drinker:

It's simple math, people! 1. Go here: http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm 2. Plug in your stats 3. ???? 4. Profit!!! Now that we have that out of the way we'll use my stats as a guinea pig. Age: 35 (6-17 bday so close enough) Height: 6' Weight: 220lbs Sex: Yes, please! Er, I mean male Now I'm…

You can drink regular soda and still lose weight. It all depends on what else you do with your calories and workout routine. I've cut my soda consumption down from 3 or 4 per day to about 1 or none but if I'm within my calorie count and I'm working out I don't see any harm in enjoying a soda. Sure I could lose faster if I…

I'm not sure if I can say it here...

If you break it down to 7 lbs a month then break it down further to per week using an average of 4 1/3 weeks per month you're losing 1.6 pounds per week. That's doing great! The main thing to keep in mind is that you are losing. Losing .4 pounds per week is still a loss and it really is likely you've gained some muscle…

Ack! You went over by 62 calories! If you do that for 57 days in a row you'll gain 1 pound whole pound so be careful! Hehehe, just messing with ya! Try not to sweat over plus or minus 100 calories or even 200 calories for that matter. It all evens out in the end just stay on track!
-
If you have these days 2 or 3 times a week then it might be something to be concerned over. Every other week or even once a week? Pfft, don't sweat it. Enjoy it and relax. 1 day of overeating by 800 calories isn't going to make you gain anything. If you're really concerned over it then maybe try a nice walk if you couldn't…

Depending on the shape he is in now I would suggest either P90 if he's pretty out of shape and just starting out or P90X if he's up for more of a challenge. There are others like Insanity that take it a step further if he's already decently fit.

I weigh every morning after my shower then again when I get home from work then again before I go to bed. Not because I obsess about the number but because I am curious how different parts of the day change how much I weigh. By the way, I usually weigh my lightest in the morning, slightly heaver after work and even heavier…

This is my exact philosophy, especially about going over for a day. One day isn't going to kill the cycle, just staying on the wagon is the key. Of course the frequency of my fast food and pizza meals are fewer than they were but I still have a soda when I want a soda.

I think they meant lecher. A lurcher is a type of dog.... though I guess that could still be appropriate.

HR=Heart Rate. To answer the OP's question, it depends on not only your age but also how fit you are to begin with. There are several target heart rate calculators out there you can find through google that will show you your maximum heart rate and depending on your goals and current fitness level will determine what…

If people are worried about aspartame there are plenty of sodas that don't contain it. The heading of the article would lead you to believe all sodas contain this which, to me, raises a red flag of being one of those alarmist articles to get people to stop drinking soda altogether. Hell, if artificial sweeteners really…

Wow, out of curiosity I looked up what a dexa scan would cost and it's around $200-$300. Ouch! I don't watch Biggest Loser but apparently they use this thing called a Bod Pod that you sit inside an air tight chamber and it pressurizes to measure your body composition as well. If you can find one near you, the places seem…

Oddly enough, I just posted a review this afternoon on a body fat analyzer I picked up. I included a chart and a link to the US Navy method of measuring body fat as well. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/260721-gadget-review-omron-body-fat-analyzer
