A calorie deficit is the only way to lose weight. A digital food scale will help with accurately determining how many calories you are eating. Excersize will help you maintain muscle while losing fat, and help contribute to your calorie deficit and health. Check out the link provided above and read the stickied posts at…

Sounds like you already found what works for you. Why would you switch to something that makes you feel restricted if you already enjoy iifym. I prefer iifym, due to the flexibility and no guilt. Also it's worked perfectly for me. I've never found the paleo "science" all that plausible or convincing.

^^this Also use a digital food scale to weigh your food so you have an accurate calorie count. Check out the stickied posts at the top of the forums for great general knowledge that will help.

I <3 all the awesome advice in this thread :)

Lots of good advice. I agree with the lifting, and especially the food scale!!! If you weren't using one, your calories intake wouldn't be very accurate and that could easily wipe out your deficit. No need to give up wine, as long as it's logged accurately.

I log everything as best I can. I also keep some extra calories as a slight buffer for any logging errors.

Are you using a digital food scale?
-
Yup, calories are what's important. Using a digital food scale lets you know how many calories you're taking in. If you eat more calories than you burn you will gain weight. If you burn more calories than you take in you'll lose weight. Your body burns a certain amount of calories just keeping you alive. So the daily…

Yeah, B.C. high five!
-
Is that a thing? I've never heard of it before.

I'm pretty sure I remember you posting this same stuff before a long time ago. Read the stickied posts at the top of each forum section to learn the basics (which is what I advised last time too). Go and Google cico and macros. Until you learn the basics you won't be able to identify good advice (which you're getting here)…

Food scale

Isn't that done when you select how much you want to lose per week? If you're accurate with your logging can't you just deduct from your current weight? 1lb per week = 4lbs per month etc.
-
Yes, but only if you also jump on the bed.

I always send a message, and prefer requests do the same. I find it's usually just new people that don't know the courtesy yet. And occasionally collectors, but it's pretty easy to spot people just in it for the numbers.

Depends on if they actually answer any of the questions from the series!

That's awesome! Great work and congratulations!

I work out at home, with PowerBlocks that are an odd shape. A number of times I've been feeling badass, only to painfully nail my leg with the corner of the weights. Not as embarrassing as doing it in a gym full of people, but still leaves me feeling like a tool, lol. These things are good though, they keep us humble!

Definitely in the same boat. I find my self esteem depends on many factors. And can change often. I can be a cocky little *kitten* right after caffeine, but other than that I'm basically shy and introverted, lol. I'm currently working on developing self esteem from internal sources and accomplishments instead of external…

Try pre logging your food for the day, the night before. It lets you know what to expect and keeps you on track. You can also meal prep so you have food readily available that helps you meet your goals. If you're new, there's several great stickied posts at the top of each forum that contain good basic information for…

Agree with what everyone else is saying. Calories are key. Get a digital food scale so you accurately know how many calories you're taking in. Set a realistic goal, so you don't burn yourself out and give up. Read the stickies and most helpful posts that are at the top of the forums. Do some googling about cico and macros…

Well you've made the choice to get back on mfp, so you're already on the right track! And getting back on track at 5lbs is better than waiting till 10lbs! Set some new goals and challenges and just get started. :)

Interested to see what info people have. I've read a couple different times, that very depending in what you're doing, but I've commonly seen about 60 seconds up to full recovery between sets.
-
Haha, very true!
-
Same. Except I occasionally question the last bit.

Little miss awesome

I just fit in a snack/desert every day. Keeps me on track knowing I get a treat at the end of the day. But I've got to hit my protein, fat and fiber first.

My body's natural instinct tells me I need ice cream... dammit body!

Kaizen vanilla is pretty good. I'm not sure I'd go out of my way for any because of flavor though. I'm looking forward to trying the peanut butter cup flavors from a couple brands sometime soon though.
