  • First, congratulations on a month and a half without binging. If you’re thinking about food all day, and it’s making you feel anxious and depressed 24/7, then something about your relationship with food is definitely out of sorts. But if you're asking the question, you probably already know that. If you’re not losing, then…
  • Why do you have that as a goal? The time you eat really has nothing to do with losing weight. It's all about the calories, so feel free to save some calories for snack time or late eating.
  • I’m 36. I workout at home 5-6 days a week, by myself. I do a 3 day split, twice a week. I stick mostly to lifting but occasionally add in cardio. Almost exclusively motivated by caffeine, lol. Absolutely LOVE IIFYM/flexible dieting. IIFYM lets me incorporate a treat every day, which helps me stay on track.
  • I use FitNotes as well.
  • Ah man, it's not available in Canada :'( The Walden farms stuff is though. Going to try that asap!
  • the % will give you goals in grams. Protein and fat are minimums not maximums, it's fine to go over. Start adding food and see what your totals are. If you're low in one area start adding food high in that macro. It gets easier the more you do it. Google lists of foods high in protein and fat to get an idea.
  • To open your diary go to: settings/diary settings/diary sharing/ then set it to public.
  • Are you eating back exercise calories? If you open your food diary people will be able to give you more accurate feedback. You say you’re “usually” under your allowance, how often is usually? Is there anything else you’re not weighing?
  • The good news is you already know exactly what you need to do. And you’ve already done it, so you know it’s not only possible, but totally achievable. Life can and will get in the way, motivation will disappear, etc. Look at it as a learning experience and try to figure out a way to plan around it in the future. You’ve got…
  • One thing I've done is save treats till the end of the day. Pre-log your day and put the sugar at the very end of your day. There's less time to obsess and think about having more if you’re going to bed in an hour. It also heps keep you on track all day if you know your getting a treat at the end of the day. There's…
  • What do your macronutrient goals look like? Have you met your daily minimums for: protein, fat and fiber? Is it exercise calories giving you so much left over or are you avoiding foods that you think are "bad" If you have that many left eat something you enjoy. As long as you weigh your food on a food scale/log accurately…
  • You'd be better off if they were calorie free. Carbs don't have an impact on weight, calories do. If you find you can't control yourself around them you might have to cut them out for a bit. They're not inherently bad as long as they don't cause you to binge or go over your calories. Maybe you can save calories over the…
  • Ah, that’s probably it. There’s lots of stuff you can try to make it a bit easier. Pre-logging your day (knowing what you’re going to be eating and when, can really help). Tracking your macros can help as well (to make sure your body is getting everything it needs to run properly). upping your fiber can help you feel full…
  • Can you elaborate? How accurate is your logging?
  • I agree with everyone, it's most likely a logging issue. That and over estimating excersize calories are the 2 most common errors. Losing weight is a math equation, so baring medical issues it's about dialing in the "calories in" vs "calories out". It might take a couple weeks to figure out. Keeping track as accurately as…
  • I'm an introvert and shy. I've done, lots of friends (and it was fun and met some great people), and I've done no friends. (Too busy) Have to agree with the smart ladies. It's good to have people to talk to that understand macros and calories. Outside of mfp not many people do. There's only one way to find out if you like…
  • There's no such thing as "normal people". Everyone has something going on and you're not the first or only person that is going through what you're going through, so you're definitely not alone. There's a group on here for eating disorders that can probably help as well. You're absolutely brave for talking about it :)
  • I'd like to second this. There might be an ED group on here as well that can offer more help.
  • you can also change your "activity level", which should help mfp be more accurate
  • If hydroxycut worked, myfitnesspal wouldn't exist... neither would overweight people or the billion dollar diet and fitness industry. You are the reason you lost wieght, NOT hydroxycut! Get rid of the pills, and keep doing what you've been doing. Check out the stickied posts in each section for the best info and advice.
  • Similar to sunnybeaches, I go with macros by gram for protein, fat and fiber as minimum daily goals. Letting the rest of the calories go to carbs or extra protein/fat. Since mfp uses % unless you pay for premium, you just have to adjust the % until it's as close as possible to the grams you want.
  • I've recently started doing it first thing in the morning. Feels great to get it out of the way and have accomplished it, instead of having it hanging over my head all day. Why not try both and see what you like?
  • I do 3x2 monday - chest and abs tuesday - shoulders and back wednesday - legs and arms thursday - chest and abs friday - shoulders and back saturday - legs and arms... and cartoons sunday - rest day depending on mood and energy levels, I switch accessory lifts and rep schemes in the second half of the week.
  • It will blow your mind how much of a difference it makes! Without one, you're basically just guessing. Measuring spoons and cups can be very inaccuraten You can find entries for cooked or raw, just make sure you pick the correct entry.
  • Sounds like a complete over reaction that shows the preocupation, focus and bias of the mother. In all likelyhood the stranger wasn't commenting on the eating habits of her daughter, but playfully teasing in a "Oh wow, lucky you" kind of way. Occam's razor. She even says it was meant in a kind way. The only judgement is…
  • Sounds like a very solid plan! I'd call it more of a treat day. It's a good experiment to see how it goes. It's good information to have and you can either work more treat/cheat days in or avoid them if you find it doesn't work for some reason or try another approach. I do a daily treat, but stay within my macros and…
