Those are my stats! I started at 190 and am currently 150, working on the last 5lbs. My profile pic shows the progress so far :)

I had a goal of losing 30lbs and decided to reward myself at 10lb intervals. When I started out I hid $50 in the back of my wallet, to be used for a massage when I hit 10lbs, which I did this morning! Now I can treat myself with a non food related reward and look forward to my next goal.

For me it's Greek yogurt, fruit and nuts like almonds. Eating those things throughout the day keeps me full until dinner and uses way fewer calories than the frozen Lean Cuisine meals I used to eat for lunch.

Yes, I was doing the same thing as you. My goal was 1200 and I was netting 600-800 cals because I would work out, and I totally stalled. I upped my calories to 1500 (I calculated my BMR to be about 2100, much higher than what MFP told me) and started eating back my calories, trying to never go under a 1300 net. Once I…

I'm the same way! At the beginning of the year I decided I was only going to drink once a month or so, instead of 1-3 times a week, and it certainly helped! I was always really good Mon-Thurs and would often lose 2-3lbs, I'd gain it right back on the weekend. I used to drink, then mindlessly munch on fried bar food. Then…

You can search the database for dance or aerobics. The calories per hour for that are pretty similar to what my heart monitor said, around 400/hour.

If 2000 is the number you can have to maintain, and factors your general activity level, then you should be NETTING 1600 to lose. So if you burn 500 calories exercising, you should be eating closer to 2000-2100. I was eating 1300 and not eating back exercise calories and got totally stuck. I then found out my BMR is 1500…

Absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. Assuming you've gotten to know him pretty well before moving in, who cares how you met? I met my fiance almost 4 years ago, we moved in together after a year and are getting married in 3 months. After a few months of dating him I learned he was more honest and trustworthy than any other…

This was seriously the biggest issue for me when I started losing weight. I used to go out and drink probably 500-1000 calories, then hit the drive through late at night and/or the next day, and I'd miss the morning workout I planned cuz I was hungover. It was terrible. The first step is be ready to leave that whole…

-11 here in Michigan. If you really want to skip the gym why not just work out at home? There are plenty of bodyweight exercises you can do in your own living room!

I have a rotating list, but as this moment in time I'd say... No Doubt The Beatles Gavin Degraw NSync (don't judge me, in addition the objects of my 15 year old self's affection, they were actually talented) Michael Jackson Carrie Underwood Pink Aerosmith Eminem Luke Bryan To say I have ecclectic taste in music is an…

I always try to look at the nutrition before I go. If what I want is a little calorie heavy, I'll know to scale back during the rest of the day, and maybe get a good workout in to compensate. Just be sure not to order something just because it "looks" healthy. I've ordered fish or grilled chicken salads at some restaurants…

If you say you do mostly cardio, throw some weight training or body weight exercises into your routine. Contrary to popular belief, strength training doesn't make you "bulk up" if you're eating a relatively low cal diet. And weight training helps you burn more calories AFTER your workout.

<--- I'm a "moderate" shorty, about 5'4. I've gone from 190 to 154, and went from a size 14-16 to size 6-8. Still trying to tone up and get down to 135-140. It's taken some times and some ups and downs, but if my former fast food loving, running hating self could make a total life change, I think anyone can!

Hi Bella, feel free to add me too! I've previously lost 40lbs but gained 10 back last year. Now I need some serious motivation and dedication to stay on track and lose another 15-20lbs before my wedding in May!

Been there. I lost 40lbs a few years ago and even though had a goal of losing 10-15 more, I ended up gaining 10 back last year. The summer killed me with wedding buffets, bbqs and beers at the beach. I also wasn't really tracking on the weekends so even if I lost during the week, I was being counter productive on the…

French fries are totally my weakness! Just gotta be careful about portion sizes though. Even running 3 miles a day will not undo eating huge 500-1000 calorie plates of fries on a regular basis! Learned that the hard way ;) But after I got over the initial withdrawl of greasy goodness I'm now totally satisfied with a small…

Feel free to add me as well. I lost 30lbs from 2010-2011 but then got stuck on a plateau for over a year. Now I'm getting more serious about workouts and tracking over the weekends (I'd always be good Sun-Thurs then blow it in Fri and Sat). I've lost 5lbs so far since 1/1/13 and am trying to get down another 15-20 before…

My favorite thing to do is to crock pot one type of meat at the beginning of the week (chicken, pulled pork, roast) and use it different ways each night. This week we roasted a chicken and had it in salad, on whole wheat pizza dough, in spaghetti squash pasta and in quesadillas. To break it up we may throw in a meatless…

I started a bodyweight training bootcamp class a couple years ago and lost about 20lbs. The best thing to do is intervals that incorporate cardio and strength training. For example, you can do a circuit where you do pushups, jumping jacks, squats and a plank. Do each move for 45 seconds and rest for 15 seconds in between…

I agree with the post about striving for a certain "body image" rather than a specific number on the scale. If you do strength training you'll lose fat because muscle burns a ton of carlories AFTER your workout. And because you're building lean muscles while losing fat, you'll look more toned. Doing cardio alone may help…
