37 here, 38 before the end of the year. 40 on the horizon--yikes! Feel free to add me

I'm a little shorter than you (5'4") but with the same weight goal and also in need of friends--add me please!!
-
Congrats! That's terrific!!

I have the same schedule as you, and because of my work schedule we don't get to eat dinner until 6:30 or 7:00, so that is usually the last thing I eat. Occassionally I'll have a little bit of ice cream with my kids around 7:45, but then that's really the last thing I eat.

If you have a Sports Authority or a ****'s Sporting Goods or other type of sporitng good store, try shopping there. They will have a much larger selection (and I wouldn't want to pay for shipping!). Also, a lot of people have suggested craigslist for weights--some have found full sets for very cheap. ETA--omg, that is…

I'm doing P90X *most* days--I try to really hit the weight/strength days because I know I can make up the cardio days with running. This is the second time I've attempted and am now in the first week of phase 2. I'm counting on myself to keep up my motivation to finish the whole program this time. 8 lbs in a week is…

I can totally relate--I do the same thing. Unfortunately, what got me over the 150# threshold was a case of food poisoning. I do not recommend.

If I'm feeling like I really worked out extra hard with P90X, went for a run, or woke up a bit hungry (I work out first thing in the morning, before 5am), then after my workout I'll have a glass of chocolate milk. Then I have a regular breakfast about an hour later--usually egg white/spinach/feta scramble--and I'm fine…

If I had been actually drinking coffee, it probably would have come out my nose just now.

So you screwed up breakfast. Make the rest of the day the best it can be. Maybe you'll go over you calorie target again, maybe you won't. Go for a walk or run or bike ride or whatever. Rule your day, don't let it rule you. And then start over again tomorrow and improve what you can.

nice work!

The bacon pop I found to be gross.... But let me tell you what "Fat Maria" did once.... I made some bacon..... and then stove popped the popcorn in the bacon fat.... and the crumbled up the bacon and added it in there when it was done. DELICIOUS [/quote] ^^^That does sound yummy. I'm not surprised the bacon pop is gross. I…

Thanks. And what's a buffalo chicken cupcake??! I'm intrigued.... Looking at the last week or so, it looks like you're doing pretty well. Could always up the green veggies, but we all could! That few hundred calorie deficit (average) might not be a problem.....

you can look at mine....it's definitely not perfect, but I fit in the same range

Haha! My husband totally believes this! I've never been "regular." The more water I drink, the better.

Usually a school track is 400 meters (roughly 400 yards), or 1/4 mile. There are likely lane markings that can guide you to 200 yds, based on what lane you're running in. If you have an iphone or ipod, there is a c25k app (actually, I think there are a few, but I don't know about droid) that tell you when to run and when…

That sounds yummy!

Yes, you can sub applesauce for oil. I often do half/half. Google for "black bean brownies." I know it sounds gross on the outside, but they really are good--and my family never knew the difference! Also, there are flourless recipes. Instead of white flour I use whole wheat pastry flour. It is as fine as white so gives the…

We have Costco here and it is NOT a better deal. The cuts of meat are better than most grocery stores, but the prices reflect that. When you compare prices by the ounce, pound or item, Costco is nearly always more. We'll go there to stock up on some pantry staples, but I can do MUCH better shopping at my local grocery…

Basic baking ingredients to have in the pantry: flour (try to find whole wheat pastry flour - same consistency as white, but WW!), sugar (can't avoid it for a lot of baking; there are subs, but baking is chemistry and sugar is a main component. I use organic unrefined (it's a little tan)), baking powder, baking soda, oil…

Oh, I wanna be one of those girls too! I had your same starting stats (now about 152) but dreaming of seeing the 140's, 130's and (gasp!) 120's again. Hard work, determination and TIME. Thanks for the reminder that it is achievable!!

Shiritaki noodles! My mom turned me on to them--they are in the refrigerated section (of the natural food section of the store) and though they aren't an exact replica of pasta noodles, are really close and have zero (or close to zero) carbs and calories. They come in different sizes (think spaghetti or fettuccine) and…

If you get up and exercise in the morning, you might find that you're not a "morning monster" and actually have a better, more energetic day! I work 4/10's, 7:30AM-6:00PM with 2 elementary schoolers and a husband that leaves for work between 6-6:30AM. Up at 4:30, exercise done by 6 Shower, eat, ready kids by 7:15 Work Home…

I think it depends on whether you tried or not.

Here too! I got sick of myself at 176 (June 2010) and have been as low as 140 (October 2011). Now back at about 152 but hoping for 125-130. Not sure how the fat loss/muscle gain equation will affect the number on the scale--I'm more concerned with what I see in the mirror and how my clothes fit. Which right now is not to…

Knowing that I won't have the whole day to talk myself out of it or "not have time." Get it done and it's already done!

I think it is hard, but not impossible. Groceries have definitely gotten a LOT more expensive--my grocery bill is up 30-40% every week and it pisses me off! But we have to eat.... There are some sacrifices I have to make with our grocery list--sure, I'd rather have the organic chicken, but the big frozen bag goes a lot…

I eat it everyday--plain non-fat. Besides sugar, compare sodium. I've found that some are really high (165mg) and some are much more moderate (85mg).

I saw that you have a goal with a firm end date (basic training) and are reluctant to slow your mileage increase, but if you don't slow it to 10% a week or so, you're going to end up at 0 (I'm saying this from experience). The more you push yourself to overtrain right now, the more likely you are to develop multiple…
