I think it is, but I buy the plain kind that doesn't' have added sugars. Basically, it's strained yogurt; for the same volume of yogurt, you're getting double the nutrition.0

Yes. It's got calcium and protein and all sorts of other good stuff. And because it's plain there's none of the added sugars/sweeteners/artificial flavourings sneaked into some yoghurts.
And, it comes in regular, low-fat or fat-free depending on how much they skim the milk they make it from.0 -
Yes it can be a really healthy alternative to regular yogurt, or sour cream. Just watch how high the sugar and fat is depending on what brand and what type you are buying.0

It has a lot of protein considering how many calories it has. It's low-carb, and has a reasonable amount of fat. It's typically lower in sodium than comparable non-Greek yogurts. The bacteria in Greek yogurt is good for your digestive system (same as regular yogurt).
It's not a magic food. If it tastes good and it fits your macros, then it's not a bad thing to eat.0 -
Full fat yogurt, in general, is better for you. Usually have less sugar added too.0

Greek yoghurt doesn't have sugar added - it has nothing added to it at all. That's why it's so good.0 -
I bought some plain Greek yogurt this week and mixed in a little Simply Fruit and it was delish! The fruit or flavored kind are so high in sugar. Simply Fruit adds sugar, of course, but not nearly as much. It made an awesome low-cal grab and go breakfast.0

I eat plain, non-fat greek yogurt with 1/4 cup granola and a bit of no-sugar-added jam to sweeten it for breakfast regularly... it's so yummy and keeps me feeling satisfied for a long time. Totally love it.0

I eat it everyday--plain non-fat. Besides sugar, compare sodium. I've found that some are really high (165mg) and some are much more moderate (85mg).0

It really depends on the type you buy. Plain Greek yogurt generally does not have added sugars/sweeteners, but flavored varieties almost always do.0 -

Oh - I think that must be an American thing. Greek yoghurt has always been plain (Greeks add honey to it at the table).0
