  • very late checking in, but sadly no loss in sight. it's a tough week here with Halloween, rehearsal dinner and wedding for my son. time to just enjoy and work hard to not go too far overboard. health boot camp to follow next week! Happy Halloween to all!! Joyce
  • Happy Wednesday! Great posts! I'm steady this week - the colder wet weather and getting dark earlier has limited my walking which is making it even harder to lose. But I'm still on the plan and will stick to it. Hope to see a loss soon!! - Joyce
  • Hi all- I was sick last week and didn't post, also lost several days of any kind of exercise. But I'm much better now and was pleased the scale went down 1 lb in spite of not much exercise. First pound lost in almost a month! I'm also trying to get a least a couple more pounds off before the holidays that are coming our…
  • Can't believe its October! Last week was tough with a business trip, limited exercise and too many events surrounded by food. Gained two pounds. Very disappointing for sure. Back on track this week but it hasn't come off yet! The cooler weather and lack of morning daylight has pushed me inside to the dreaded treadmill. But…
  • Hi Diane, I'm 62 since Sunday and I have been off and back on a diet since I was 14. It is so much harder than it used to be! I am petite and have a pretty slow metabolism. I can survive the zombie apocalypse with very few calories. This will give me an advantage should that happen! I started my new fitness plan in June…
  • Down one pound this week! It is 100 days til Christmas!
  • It is a great approach;. I get up every morning and focus only on the day before me. I do not allow myself to think about long term and feel deprived. Instead I remind myself how truly fortunate I am to be at this age with good health and such a comfortable life. And in return all I need to do is be good to myself and my…
  • Hi all, Down one pound this morning, just in time for Wed weigh-in! Down 13 since MFP, 17 since early June. Quite pleased about that of course. Charlie - you are such a positive influence for us all! But I agree attitude is everything and some days it's hard to maintain. Also the cooler weather made me just want to sleep…
  • Here I am late again, but I get to add another pound lost! Hope we all have a great week! Joyce
  • I am in, a weekly checkin for us should work. Call it Christmas Club? I only have 10 more to lose but I am a Slow loser so it will take me that long !! Joyce
  • Nice post, hope we keep it going. Grateful for a wonderful family and everyone's good health, my dear H of 43 years, two kids and two granddaughters. Still working long hours but starting my countdown _ aiming for 2016! Boy that morning coffee routine with friends sounds heavenly right now, enjoy! Grateful for my good life…
  • September goals - Enjoy something each day! Sometimes the most enjoyable thing I do all day is take my walk. Walk 120 miles! I walked 105 in August, one day at a time. Lose 4 lbs! Each one is getting harder. Embrace my daily habits as a life long plan for health, not a short term diet plan.
  • Hi to all - lots of good news and steady progress! I'm back after 10 days on an RV trip. Did well, did not gain! So no loss, no gain for the last 2 weeks. Back to focus mode and hope to see some progress soon!
  • Happy Wed to all- I'm on the road til Monday - a week in the motorhome with no scales. Scarey! I've been mostly good, only a little bad. Hardest part has been keeping up with my walking. I have my fingers crossed I will at least be the same next week
  • WOW! So many really great losses and accomplishment! Happy to say I'm down another pound as of this morning- From start -13 Start of MFP -9 Heading out this weekend for a week on the road with no scales. But I will stay focused, do lots of walking, and enjoy myself!
  • We all do this I think. Even now when I look at family photos over the last 43 years of marriage - the first thought in my head when I see myself in a photo is whether I was up or down that year. I think 'Oh that was the year I did really well on that diet and looked good, or Oh I was really at my highest weight that…
  • Very touching and thanks so much for sharing. You are awesome! The comfort of being in your new self will come and you will relax as time goes by. Great focus!
  • Having a good weekend - hope you all are too! Really hope to knock down one more pound this week. Leaving next weekend for a week of RV vacation. No scales and too many temptations. My controlled routine is my friend and it's always harder with a new restaurant every day! But I will ramp up my exercise with my extra time…
  • Happy Anniversary! Made me cry and smile! Great post` Joyce
  • I remember when I turned 60 and it did a bit of a number on me. I truly let down my guard and I think it was partly just like you said - when I was young 60 was just plain OLD! I stopped worrying about what I ate or how I looked. Now I'll be 62 next month, and this summer I started thinking about retiring soon and all the…
  • Thanks for sharing your deep personal emotions on eating. I think everyone here can totally relate. My earliest memories of good times are closely tied to food as food was a reward and sweets were the highest reward. We associate food with celebration and food with solace, food with friends and family. If we don't eat and…
  • Had a great week - exercised every day and lost one more pound! lost 12 since June 1 lost 8 since starting MFP lowest weight in over two years! starting to feel like I'm getting somewhere  Hope you all have another great week and everyone's scale creeps down!!
  • Wow- some great progress this week! I'm down another pound. Very slow, but steady. I'll take it. Sticking with the program, didn't miss a day this week (minimum one hour a day of exercise.) Welcome to our new friends! Joyce
  • August always seems more like the end of a year to me - summer is ending, school is starting, holidays will be coming at me in no time! It's been a good summer so far as I have really taken a serious approach to improving my health. Just looking forward to enjoying each summer day - getting outside as much as I can. We…
  • August Goals: Walk every single day without fail. Eat to improve my health with just a little to satisfy my spirit Lose 4 lbs (that's one a week which is a struggle for me) Try to enjoy something about every single summer day before it slips away! :glasses: Wishing everyone good health and a good month! Joyce
  • So much good news for all for the week and the month of July! If I take credit for the 1 lb loss i posted last Thursday, then i can say I'm down 1 lb this week! My weight loss is terribly slow, but i've stuck to my plan for two months and feel great about my new healthier lifestyle!

  • Hi all- Rebamae - i'll chime in on coffeemakers. I've got at least 3!! I bought a Keurig pod maker about a year ago. The cost is much higher for coffee and it is more limiting. I love experimenting with flavored coffees and the smell of a fresh ground bag. You never get that with the pods. They are very convenience, but…

  • I know it's already Thursday- but I was down 1 lb this morning! Had to share - Joyce
  • Welcome and thanks for starting your thread- I've only been with MFP a few weeks and just started my health plan the first week of June. I had put it off for two years and lost control. I'm already down 9 lbs! 5 since MFP start date. I have a new (for me) approach- exercise at least an hour every single day! It has made a…
