No, I was not upping the weight 10 lbs from the prior session! I was just thinking in my head that I want 45 (weight of the bar) plus 10, but put 10 lb plates on each side instead of 5 lb plates. Yes, those are my math skills, and I used to tutor Calculus in college!

I am still not sure if I am doing the pendlay rows quite right either. I think I am having issues with my starting position. In the video you posted, it looks like he starts with his back basically parallel to the ground. In Starting Strength, from what I remember, the starting position was more like the deadlift start…

Yes, I do. I have been using the Starting Strength book as my guide on form for the Stronglifts progam. I am not sure if and how they might differ.

Bump to read later.

Thanks, that is good to know. It's nice that it accounts for your weight too.

Hi everyone! I have been working with an empty bar trying to work on form. I added weights this week, so here are my starting stats: Squat: 60 lbs. Overhead press: 50 lbs Deadlift: 95 lbs Bench press: 55 lbs Barbell Rows: 55 lbs

Thanks--good info.!

I use them in Pad Thai. I think they might be weird with Italian dishes. They are closer in texture and taste to rice noodles, so I think they work well with a lot of Asian dishes.

Definitely try level 2. I actually thought it was harder than level 3. I still go back and do it occasionally. You can also up the weights to make it more challenging.

I am 5'2.5", and I am maintaining at 115. I workout 6-7 days a week (2 days of strength training and cardio 30-45 minutes a day). My maintenance calories are 1570. I eat all my exercise calories, so I generally average around 1800-1900 calories a day. I can't imagine eating 1200 calories a day or less; I would be starving!…

Here is one calculator, which also tells you how to properly measure your waist and hips: http://www.healthcalculators.org/calculators/waist_hip.asp

I've had twins, and two more babies after my twins. I am down to my lowest adult weight, but my stomach still does not look great, but ok in clothes!

I think I went down to .5 pounds/week when I had about 15 pounds left to go. I had just stopped nursing my youngest child, and I just found it really hard to adjust to eating so few calories (I no longer had extra calories from nursing). I am only 5'2.5", so I wasn't allowed very many calories for a 1 lb./week loss. I…
-
I've done that, and it works well. I now have my calories manually set to an amount that results in about only .3 pounds weight loss a week. Also, it gradually gets you to your maintenance level, instead of suddenly having to eat several hundred more calories once you get to maintenance.
-
You don't have that many pounds to lose according to your ticker. What are your goal settings? If you are trying to lose 2 pounds a weeks, maybe you should aim for only 1 pound. This will give you more calories.
-
Height: 5' 2" Weight: 120 Goal weight: 120 Daily calorie goal: 1500 (I manually set this. My maintenance is actually 1600, but I wouldn't mind fluctuating between 115-120, so I set it a little lower). Daily calorie goal when losing last 5 pounds: 1400 I always eat all my exercise calories, and about once or twice a week I…

I am 5' 2.5" and down to 122. I still am not pleased with my midsection, however, and hoping losing a little more will help. I have had 3 c-sections and also have a hernia and diastasi recti, so I have issues with doing ab work right now. Feel free to add me!
-
Will insurance not even cover the hernia and muscle repair portion? I have had 3 c-sections and also have the separated ab walls and a hernia too. I was hoping to get it repaired and throw in a tummy tuck! I can't even do any ab workouts now because of the pain, so I am stuck with this belly for now.

Have you heard of the 100 Workout? You can google it. You will also find other people's variations on it.

Check out Craigslist for used exercise equipment. I bought a used elliptical machine for $75. It is very basic. I have had it for about 3 years now. It still works fine and gets the job done.

Yes, this works for me too!

I like Applegate Farms sausage (chicken and sage flavor). My kids really like it too. It does not contain nitrates, and they use quality chicken (humanely raised and not administered antibiotics--according to the box). I get it at Whole Foods.

I did not find that weight just started to come off after I stopped nursing. I actually found myself gaining a few pounds because I was still eating the same as when I was nursing. Once I adjusted my eating, then I continued to lose about the same rate as before. I think that if you are nursing and trying to get down to a…

I count my nursing as exercise (400 calories burned). I eat these calorie and any additional calories I get from exercising, and I have been losing about a pound a week.
