I'd really love to take up judo or kickboxing, but so far all the gyms in my area seem a bit sketch :( What type of martial arts do you do?

I've definitely been there. I randomly bumped into a guy I worked with once, and he was like "wow, you've lost weight! You look great! " or something to that effect. I felt really... I dunno, sort of put off by it? I chalked it up to how surprised he sounded. I think it also helped that, if I had lost weight since I last…

If this is really 'the last 5lbs' you're working on (like you're a healthy weight for your height), then plan to loose the weight over a few months, so you aren't discouraged. It's pretty normal to loose a lot of weight quickly in the first few days of a new diet - this is just water weight, not fat. That's okay, though!…

I made a really nice vegan lentil minestrone-thing tonight. I'd say that I made around 8 generous servings at around 250 calories each. Cooking time is probably 60 to 80mins, mostly so the soup can simmer. 10ml olive oil 450g yellow onion (like 1.5 onions) 175g celery (3 stalks) 500g carrots (5/6) 400g zucchini (1ish) 2 to…

I'm always starving after I run! Do you run on a fast (like before eating breakfast)? Personally I'd probably just eat something regardless, particularly if you're worried about getting enough protien or if you need somethi g to pick you up a bit. Maybe just a protein shake or a banana?

I've been there every night, lately! :( I suppose the silver lining is that when I can see it coming, I can stock my pantry with things to binge on, and (attempt) to plan for it. I like low sugar jello, tuna in water, light PB, cream cheese, rice cakes, etc. Stuff that creates a feeling of 'fullness' without being too…

I've always found that pickles stop my cravings. To be honest, it's probably because they have massive amounts of salt in them, but they're also crunchy and flavorful, and only have like 10 calories each.

A three egg omlette with spinach, onion, garlic, red peppers, and avocado. And some parmesan cheese, since im all out of cheddar :( Anyway it was pretty rad.

What are you doing to try to lose?
-
You look fab!! (The red and purple shoes would have been my pick too :))

I feel more motivated to log when I can see that it's working, ie, I'm losing weight. Don't 'talk yourself into' doing something. Tell yourself you're going to do it, then do it. If you log for a solid week or so it will become second nature. It might help to put aside 5 minutes in the morning to log an approximation of…

I'm going through the same thing :( I've lost about 18lbs so far, but during the past week and a half I've (apparently) gained two lbs. This is despite running about 25k a week and eating under my deficit. It really sucks, but logically I know I can't have eating an extra 7000 calories in three days without noticing. I…

But it sounds like you aren't getting a morning workout in regardless, so what's the point? Maybe if you dont inturrupt your sleep with multiple alarms you'll sleep better, and wake up before 12:30?

I'm not menoposal, and I was probably at the high end of 'overweight' on a BMI scale at the time that I took Effexor or its generic version. I'd been somewhat obese in high school, though.
-
I took Venlafaxine for my anxiety/depression a few years ago - that's the generic name, I forget exactly what the trade name was for my prescription. To be honest, it made me feel emotionless. At first it seemed like it was a good thing because it allowed me to go about my day without panic attacks, but it gets old pretty…

It's something I've struggled with :( Are you seeing a counsellor or therapist?

Jucing is great for supplementing your diet if you have a hard time eating your veggies, but that said, the juice from fruit can also be very high in calories (and sugar, if you pay attention to that), so that's something to watch out for. It's not unhealthy, but there's nothing magical about juicing that will make you…

Hi everyone :) My current goal is to loose 8 to 10lbs. I'm down to loosing about .5lbs a week now, so it might take the entire 100 days to do that. Here's my stats: SW: 180ish lbs CW: 128lbs Goal: 118 - 120lbs My plan is to keep up what I've been doing, pretty much. I run 25k a week and typically get in three 45min…

This sounds like a good idea! I'm worried that all these holidays coming up, and the inevitable bad weather will throw me off track. Feel free to add me! Should we post our stats and goals here?

I'm 26, add me if you'd like :)

Zuchinni grilled in a bit of butter with garlic, and poached eggs. Lots of pepper :q And I was feeling lazy, so the rest of my protien and veggies for the day went into a smoothie. It all looked hella ugly by the time it was on a plate/blended, so no pictures :(

...I feel like you may not be measuring your calories right. Are you weighing everying with a food scale?
-
Honestly this is your first week of dieting, so you shouldn't worry about the scale yet. Your weight is going to fluxuate pretty drasticly due to things like water retention, when you last ate, bodily cycles, etc. This is normal - I can weigh 129 and 135lbs on the same day, and some people fluxuate way more than that.…

5'6" - 129lbs - 26yrs I'm 'lightly active' I guess? I run like 5/6 times a week and lift 3. I've gotten a little lax about these last 10 lbs, so these days I cycle my calories based on how hungry I am. Some days I'll eat 2200cals, and others I might have 1300. I just try to keep to an overall deficit of around .5lbs a…

I used to be able to do that. I called it my 'latte' diet. I'd have a whole milk latte for breakfast, and that would tide me over until about 4 (early dinner, as I was up at 5am). It... sort of worked? There was like a 20% chance that I'd get hungry between dinner and bedtime and binge. My diet was also pretty carb-heavy,…

Drink lots of water, maybe go for a run or do some yoga. I'd personally just write it off and keep going. We all slip up a little sometimes. I did the same thing this weekend, unfortunately. Keep looking at the big picture and don't let it bother you too much :)
-
Have you gone over your food diary to make sure you aren't accidentally underestimating what you eat? Do you weigh and measure all your food? As we loose weight our body needs to burn fewer calories, so if you're still trying to loose weight on the deficit you started at, it could be that you've slipped into maintenance…

Haha I get this all the time. Thankfully my SO and I are on the same page about diet/exercise, but (literally) everyone I work with have formed an anti-sugar brigade. I mostly tune it out :) they have their diet plans and I have mine.

I wish I liked stevia, but it tastes disgusting to me. Ive tried liquid and powdered types, but it's always bitter. I just use Sugar Twin, haha.
