  • Almost 5'6 and lost 135lbs. Just updated my start and current as my profile pic.
  • I drink 16ounces when I wake up. I drink 16 after breakfast, at lunch, midday, at dinner, and then if I work out I usually consume 32+ ounces. It really helps in weight loss. There are times when I know I am not hungry but in need of hydration. Before my lifestyle changes I mistook my needing water for being hungry. Keep…
  • Emotionally do you feel the treadmill is more restricting than the outdoors in your freedom? Suggestion - make sure treadmill is placed by a window for outdoor scenery, cover up the treadmill buttons etc., put in your running music, and start running.
  • I swear by my crockpot. We make apple oatmeal, chicken & noodles, chili, bbq chicken, hot & spicy chicken, bbq roast, veggie soup, pumpkin cake, baked potatoes,....my list is endless. I received a crockpot recipe book for Christmas one year....minor ingredients, well balanced yummy meals. My most favorite is the pumpkin…
  • Protein Shake 1 scoop - Designer Whey Vanilla Protein Powder 1/4 tsp sugar free vanilla pudding dry mix 6oz cold water half of a banana (I like mine to be frozen) 1Tbl of Natural Peanut Butter 1Cup crushed ice Blend away - if you would like it thicker or creamier you can sub water and use skim milk.
  • I have also tried various recipes. They are good and very simple to follow.
  • I have been on MFP for over a year + and yes I have read some of the rudest posts. Everyone seems to have an opinion which is what we want we ask a question but they could keep their "supreme" opinions to themselves. One person will tell you 1200 calories is way to low and another person will tell you that 1200 is too high…
  • My Opinion - Does MFP have your carbs set at 55%? Mine did and that is way too high as it caused me to be hungry. It was ok at the beginning of my journey as I was training myself to eat properly but then I learned fast I needed to adjust my macros.
  • I make low calorie chili, taco soup, chicken and noodles, tomato spinach brown rice soup, and chicken in rice soup in crockpot. We eat soup at least once a week in my household. I have a cookbook that is nothing but crockpot recipes. I review the recipe and then make a few changes to make the macros better. Chili - Can of…
  • Weight lifting, added protein, reduced fat, and added carbs (good ones) to help my muscle. I NEVER eat the same amount of calories everyday. My weight loss is a lifestyle change so everyday is different. I just had a rough two months and could not figure out why my weight was maintaining and not dropping....I reviewed my…
  • RULE 1: DRINK A GLASS OF WATER BEFORE EACH MEAL: NO EXCUSES RULE 2: DON'T DRINK YOUR CALORIES RULE 3: EAT PROTEIN AT EVERY MEAL OR STAY HUNGARY AND GROUCHY RULE 4: SLASH YOUR INTAKE OF REFINDED FLOURS AND GRANI RULE 5:EAT 30-50 GRAMS OF FIBER RULE 6: EAT APPLES AND BERRIES EVERY SINGLE DAY RULE 7: NO CARBS AFTER LUNCE RULE…
  • First - do you eat five times a day or just three? Second, to continue moving your metabolism you need to eat every three hours. At the beginning of my journey I set an alarm to remind to eat breakfast, early snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, and then evening snack (if needed) - two years later it is normal for me but…
  • Thanks! I have been varying exercises and some food. I did move calories around some but my mental state freaks out that I might gain weight back. My goal was 2lbs a week, but I do not think that is realistic anymore at this point. MFP has me at 1175 to lose 2lbs a week - yep, not gonna happen. I am going to reset my goals…
  • You can do it Bruce!! I have lost 125lbs over the last year and have 90 to go! MFP is great!
  • Great Job!! Your definition is there and you will see more over the next year of your transformation.
  • Cereal = bad before bed. If you need food before bed - protein is best. It will help your hormones and the fat breakdown that takes place while you sleep. Also, I have learned when my enzymes are really at work my belly makes hungry sounds and I feel like I need food which happens most often at bedtime. After a year of…
  • Welcome to MFP - it has literally changed my life. In June 20111 my weight was 362lbs. I now weigh 241lbs and I am still working toward my final goal. I have been obese my entire life - not just my adult life, but my childhood also. I currently weigh less than I did when I graduated high school. Advice is easy to give to…
  • Keep moving forward and you will be rewarded. I started at 362 and just weighed in at 246 a year later. My goal is 170 and it was hard to imagine to weigh less than 300 a year ago and I am now only 76lbs from my total goal. I have weighed more than 300lbs for over 19 years so I can assure you, you will succeed. One day at…
  • Box of spice cake and one can of pure pumpkin puree. Mix together and bake. For a topping, I took fat free cream cheese and added a sugar substitute ( a little at a time until I was ok with taste) and yummy. Office folks ate them all up.
  • No, I do not adjust as weight will go up and down 1-3 lbs. Sodium with water retention also has alot to do with weight. I came back from vacation after 12 days and was 3lbs up and two days later they were gone along with two more pounds. I do however, only show that I have lost a pound when my scale reads the same thing…
  • What wagon? Throw the wagon in the garbage and move forward. MFP is just a tool for you to assist in your life choices. You do not answer to it or need to follow it. You use it to your benefit. If you eat 3000 calories, log them, if you eat 1200 calories, log them. MFP allows you to go back and review previous days,…
  • Why stop something that is working for you? Even if you are at maint. MFP is tool for your healthy lifestyle. I worried about this just recently because I am getting close to my goal and after logically looking at everything I decided I am not dependent upon MFP to eat right BUT I love when I am our and want to eat…
  • Yes, mine has been resized two times and once I am goal will probably need done again. I was not wearing them because they were falling off and my spouse was not too happy. It was great to get them resized and I am glad I did not wait until my total goal.
  • You can enjoy food and still log into your MFP. Suggestion - take a week off from MFP. It is a tool to assist you NOT your life. Another suggestion - Continue to use MFP but log your food in at the end of the day or if you are a meal planner, then log your total day in at the beginning. Good Luck! Sorry - this is for the…
  • I will also reassure you that 4 cookies is not binge eating. If you find yourself having a heavy carb day then make the next day a low carb, high fiber & protein day with LOTS of water. You will be fine.
  • Great job on your loss of stones. Suggestion - you could lose the other 2 stones by getting rid of the person calling you fat. That I can assure you is NOT true love.
  • Yep - no fad dieter here. Every pound loss was done the old fashion way...through hard work and determination.
  • Cute jeans to wear with the $850 Michael Kors brown boots I want with an awesome tunic and a great crossbody bag to finish off the outfit......sigh.....maybe some day.
  • 1/2 cup egg white, one medium egg, 1oz feta cheese, fresh spinach leaves - turn into an omelet if I have any extra protein laying around I throw it in. Add salsa on top or non fat, plain greek yogurt and paprika
  • Depending on your calorie intake, here is what I normally eat - Soft shell beef taco with beef & cheese only. 10-15 chips and salsa also. If your calorie content allows then I would add another taco. Most mexican places use iceberg lettuce - it is empty calories so I always hold the lettuce. No nutrition and waste of my…
