Welcome to MFP. I have friends who also attempted WW and was not successful. Good Luck in your journey to make great lifestyle changes.

You can do it!! I started at 362 in October 2011 - as of this week I weighed in at 284. My goal is 175 and then we will see from there. My husband was 320 in June 2011 and he is now 245 as of this week. It is a lifestyle and not a diet. There is no magic pill, suppliment, or one exercise that you can do to automatically…

It took about 4 months to lose 30 lbs, 8 mos to lose 71 lbs and I am pushing for 100 lbs by mid Oct. - that will be a year for me. I then hope to drop another 50 lbs by next May and then reach my final goal in by October 2013. I started real slow but once I started seeing the results, determination set in and I customized…

I have a 17yr old who is also about 40lbs over. First - there is a reason why - but she may not know it or does not want to share it with you. Second - teenagers are LAZY. My daughter has played soccer and basketball since she was in the third grade so it does not matter if they sit in front of the PC or play sports - it…

If you are way over your 100 carbs each day then it is time to detox and go through carb withdrawal (takes about three days) and then move forward. Depending on how far you want to go with weight loss your carb count may need to come down more, but you can deal…

When I first started MFP it set me up at 1900 Calories and then as I dropped weight, the calories declined. I read a book by Dr. Joe (got it from the library). It explained how you are to eat so many carbs, fats, & proteins in a day to help stimulate your metabolism and lose weight so it will stay off. I am 5'5 female -…

We use unsweetened Almond Milk for our shakes and other recipes that need milk. We do not drink glasses of it, however, my teenager who is very picky says it tastes great to drink.

Welcome to Fitness Pal. I was not thin in high school but I completely understand your thoughts. Feel free to add me - I am a GREAT motivator.

I am not a black coffee drink either, nor do I enjoy the taste without some sweetness. I use sugar free creamer so it is less calories, however if you just need the creaminess, then unsweetened almond milk is the way to go. Also - just a suggestion - I have switched to coffee mocha protein shakes as a substitute for coffee…

I have the same problem. I am trying to eat more calories between mid-morning snack and late day snack (including lunch) and then making dinner VERY light in calories. So far so good, but only time will tell. Good Luck!
