As she's going for a basic membership at a gym and still has a lot to lose I think the one size fits all compound lift answer isn't perfect unless she's also planning on finding a strength coach and learning proper form. Compound lifts are great for building overall strength but not necessarily wonderful for aesthetics…

I spent the last few months eating entirely veggie (no longer). If you are a vegetarian will you eat eggs and fish? if so this makes it a lot easier. I'd check out some Indian/Nepali/Thai recipes. There are a lot of easy vegetarian dishes that have a ton of flavor. The curries are great but there are plenty of easy dishes…

Cheat days infer that you are on a diet rather than making a change to a healthier lifestyle. Rather than planning in a total cheat day have a slightly higher calorie consumption on other days but keep it constant.

Dumbbells are great but it's much easier to work the upper body with them than the lower. I'm not sure how advanced you are but the problem with dumbbells is that it becomes much more difficult to maximally load the legs (you can't rest the weight on your back or shoulders and instead rely on your forearm strength to grip…

1. A beginner lifting routine is the same for both women and men. The fact that you are a woman shouldn't have any impact. 2. If you're eating healthy and exercising eventually it's going to come off. Sometimes I'm much higher on carbs but it can just be that…

i go for any sort of fruit or vegetable. carrots, strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, mango, banana, etc. These all have lots of sugar but realistically are a bit better than binging later on.

I went from 310 lbs to 180 lbs while drinking 5-8 cups of coffee every day (pretty normal in the Netherlands). Mind you that when I was 310 I barely had coffee and now I drink it all the time. When you're used to it the effect on sleep is minimal and the added benefits of drinking coffee include reduced chances of certain…

my mom runs a weight loss clinic that sells some of these things (nutrimed, medifast, hmr). from what ive seen if you stick to it, they work and you will lose weight. problem being that restricting calories so drastically ruins your metabolism so when you stop your diet you gain a lot of weight back fast. best way is to…

used to only be able to drink sweet milk loaded coffee. try to get some good dark roast and just try it. in a few weeks you'll adjust. now I cant even drink a sip of the sweet stuff because it tastes nasty ;)
