  • Thank you so much everyone. I weigh most things but have, on occasion, picked 'homemade' or '1 portion of' instead of weighing everything. I'm going to be more careful with that. I'm upping my miles (half marathon in October) so will see how it goes for a while. Like the idea of the weight trend app, will look for that…
  • At 19 your body is still maturing- your face will fill out, it's absolutely natural and absolutely not fat. Please don't fight that, you'll make yourself really stressed and ill if you do. I married a man who has always been slim. He's got twin brothers who were always very slim. All 3 of them hit about 20 and their bodies…
  • I've had issues with both Saucony and Asics. Asics are wider but foot burn isn't unusual for that brand- the insole is quite structured so if you're flat footed or of a different structure it'll cause issues. I'd give Nike Pegasus a whirl- wide toe box, mid sole and good cushioning.
  • It's brilliant and as it's several discs, the workouts do vary. I've had it almost exactly a year and dipped in and out of it all year (far more than I would have used a gym too!) and I'm just starting to get bored of it. Well worth the money in my opinion. Greatest results seen when you do it daily though.
  • You sound like you don't want a solution. There isn't anything that can magically change to prevent you running for another 11-13minutes. Nothing apart from your attitude towards the task. Eating differently, drinking differently, sleeping more, sleeping less- none of it makes a jot of difference when you're talking this…
  • Sounds like you've got a mental block now. You're totally capable of running that distance, don't let your brain talk you out of it. Set out slower, pick a route you like and keep reminding yourself that you can do it. There is absolutely no reason for stopping until the end, you've just got to remind your brain of that!
  • I have RA (diagnosed about 10 years ago now but had symptoms since I was about 16, I'm 34 now). I took up running 2 years ago and lost 4 stone. This year I ran 2 marathons and planning an ultra for next year. My worst joint is my ankle. It's got OA as well as the RA affecting it. I've got bits of calcification in the area…
  • I used to be like that. It all hurt, it made me feel weak and tired and awful for ages. I've run 2 marathons this year though and totally hooked now. The thing that helped me was the couch to 5k style programmes. Small, acheiveable sessions regularly that left me feeling pleasantly knackered but proud, rather than tired…
  • Well done on day 2. You'll definitely start to find bits of it easier though pressing play may get trickier! It's definitely worth it, honestly.
  • I took a year to work out what was causing my IBS. Mainly it's milk and yogurt, sweetener and sugar (as in normal sugar in coffee). I also struggle with iceberg lettuce, onion and some cheese. I've found the sweetener and yogurt to be the hardest to avoid- grabbing a snack when you're out is hard going now! I love yogurts…
  • How fast I run depends on how far I'm going or what my aim for that session is- some I run at recovery pace (which is 11min mile), so I run at threshold (which is 8min mile) and sometimes I'm somewhere between. I run 5k at 8min miles, 10k at 830min miles, half marathon at 9.09 min miles and marathon is a whopping 11 min…
  • No plateau here. I have bad IBS and realised a lot of what I ate caused the horrific stomach cramps. So I've cut all of that out but SW relies quite heavily on artificial sweetener/low fat products and dairy. I can't stomach either. So it was no longer working for me, I constantly felt hungry which led to me over eating.…
  • 1lb a week gives me 1200 cals. 0.5lb a week gives me 1350...which isn't much higher.
  • This is also very helpful, thank you Nonie x
  • This is incredibly helpful. Thank you so much, you have helped me massively.
  • No, I'm currently not calorie counting and have gained weight during marathon training. However I am 100% sure that while following SW (and successfully lost weight) I was eating more than 1200 calories a day. I just don't know how much. I've had about 4 months off any form of healthy eating. I'm effectively starting again…
  • Oh yes, stats would be helpful. I'm 5 foot 1, 10st 2. Athletic shape with heavy set legs (my legs are quite muscular from running). I think my query is around daily activity really. I suppose when I'm not running, I'm quite inactive at the moment. It's summer holidays so I'm sitting in parks watching over the kids, doing…
