  • I feel the same way.... I would rather go to the gym then hang out with friends or I plan my day around my gym time. I am sure some are annoyed by this but it's just the way it is.
  • To tone the arms - do push ups, pull ups, tricep dips.. Basically anything to hit that tricep muscle. That is the toughest area for me to tone as my bat wings like to fly. But I have noticed that doing the push ups have really toned them up.

  • Jumping jacks, jump rope, glut kicks, taking a walk/jog/run around the neighborhood, sets of doing push ups, squats, lunges. Body weight is actually a great way to stregnth train. If you have the desire/motivation/and mindset to workout at home, it can be done!

  • Try to get lower into your squat if doing a standing squat. You can also do squat jumps (start in a squat, jump as high as you can, land in a squat). Or add weights as someone suggested. You probably have built up the gluts and need to add more to feel it. Good luck!

  • Try adding MIO to your water, it is a water enhancer.. 0 calories, 0 sugar. It is excellent! Right now I am using the fruit punch, but they also have berry pomegrante, peach tea, strawberry watermelon. It is sold by the crystal light and is liquid versus the powder. Much easier to mix up.

  • I agree that it is a personal choice. I admit I am obsessive.. sometimes I do it morning and night just to see. But truly once a week is sufficient. For my 90 day weight loss challenge at the gym, we weigh in weekly.

  • Welcome! And yes grilled food is good too. Be careful on how it is prepared/marinated to avoid using lots of butter!

  • I know how getting the call for further tests is scary. Without the knowledge of really knowing what is going on, we tend to always look for the worst in any given situation. Even though you have to go back, it doesn't mean the worse case possible. What if the imaging center missplaced or the views didn't come out clear…
  • Thankfully Grad school is over! I worked full time during my grad days and got into cycling. That helped a ton to not eat all the crap they offer. Good luck!!

  • The band works if you follow the program. I had it done in 2007 and lost a ton of weight. Now the health issues are gone! However, if you don't change your lifestyle, the band won't be successful. It is simply a tool. Their are drawbacks to the band. I had to have Emergency Surgery to have it removed as my stomach flipped…
  • I used to not do push ups either. Even the bent knee were tough, but as you build your upper body stregnth, it will come. Now days, in boot camp, it is not uncommon to do 100 plus pushups in one class. Just go slow.. and don't get discouraged!
