  • Welcome! The rule around here is you eat your exercise calories each day--no "roll over" calories on MFP! Also, most folks here seem to record their weight weekly, but many weigh more often. I weigh myself daily--I don't freak out if I gain a little bit one day or another, and weighing myself daily keeps me focused. Some…
  • Greek yogurt is high in protein--14 grams/6 oz in Chobani brand.
  • Well, did your dad win??? Oh, and you look terrific in the T!
  • WooooooooooooHoooooooooooooooo!! Well done!
  • You poor girl! Perhaps you could write the grocery list for your husband, including lots of fresh fruits and veggies. He could buy some boiled eggs and cooked chicken at the grocery store so he wouldn't have to cook. Keep in mind, your body needs plenty of good calories to enable mending and healing. All the best to you!
  • HUGE congrats on your 10 year anniversary!! You and your husband should be proud and pleased of your accomplishment. Regarding a gift: I have seen some nice photos of the MLB ball parks, framed....or maybe some sports memorabilia like a signed baseball or the jersey of his favorite player...or, if you want to spend more,…
  • ...and yay! for supportive friends and bold sisters! Huge congrats to you on your terrific weight loss!
  • Sometimes folks with celiac's disease--gluten intolerance--are tired after eating a gluten-meal. Gluten doesn't just mean bread and pasta--it is in many foods including sausages, some types of chips, meatloaf, some ice cream... and Twizzlers and jelly beans--who knew?? If your fatigue continues, you should probably call…
  • Definitely dress up. You are a candidate for a new job, and you will be compared to the other candidates, so you must dress appropriately. Also, being dressed up will put your brain and body language in interview-mode rather than "Casual Friday" mode. However, I would take a change of clothes, too--no reason to be…
  • I have a question: What do you do with MFP friends? When you say you want "more friends," what do you expect from them? What will you do for them? How do you think they will enrich your life/how will you enrich their lives? This is a serious question: I am not being a smart aleck; I want to understand the…
  • 1. Tortilla pizza--tortilla on bottom, ground beef, tom sauce, cheese and broil it all. 2. Fried rice with shrimp and carrots. 3. I have a friend who likes peanut butter with pasta....just sayin'. 4. Egg in a basket: oil/butter a frying pan; cut a hole in a slice of bread, place bread in frying pan, crack an egg into the…
  • In addition to adding healthy calories, it would be a good idea to check in with your doc--either call and chat for a minute to ask advice or make an appointment for a check up.
  • Welcome to MFP. We are all about being healthy here--whichever way your calorie count takes you! Good snacks for you: cheese and crackers, half of a turkey sandwich, banana with peanut butter....
  • Consider your posted quote as you plan for your birthday: ~*~"Don't give up what you really want for what you want right now!"~*~ What do you really want for your birthday??
  • Your summer class schedule looks like my fall class schedule--but I am the instructor. I am thinking the same way you are: what will I eat??? What about keeping a little cooler in your car, especially for that 55 min break. You could pack some meat and cheese, bread or crackers if you eat those carbs, and fruit...some…
  • Just an idea: What about having a little (or big!) bowl someplace in the kitchen. Every time you pick up a "taste" of something, drop it into your bowl instead of eating it. During a break, look at your collection and decide what, if anything, you want to consume. Pitch the rest.
  • Welcome! It is important to eat at each meal. I know 1200 calories seems limiting, but once you start tracking your foods, you'll see that 1200 is plenty for a day. I keep breakfast to around 300 calories...usually I eat a Greek yogurt and maybe some oatmeal or the yogurt and fruit. All the best to you!!
  • In addition to what has already been noted, some days you skip meals. Be careful to eat at least three meals each day. Many folks eat six small meals. One more point: I only looked at a few of your days, but you are inconsistent with your calories. Some days you eat beyond your goal and other days you consume too few. Try…
  • Chobani yogurt: an individual serving has 14 grams of protein, 0 fat, 140 calories. You can buy it in a larger tub, too; that would be more economical.

  • Are you drinking 8 glasses of water each day?

  • I am doing Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred--20 min/day first thing in the morning 7 days/week. Now that the semester is over, I'll add walking the dog in the evening.
  • Well, I can only tell you what I did when I was in the same situation. I "fell off" and absolutely "gained a few pounds" a few weeks ago. However, I decided quitting was not an option, so I read through the amazing success-in-progress stories on this site, looked at the unbelievable transition photos posted here, drew…
