Make small goals and revel in those pretty-quick successes. Seeing the declining numbers--both on the scale and in my clothing sizes--works for me. Some folks, however, like to reward themselves with treats, gifts, prizes for specific successes along the way. Do whatever keeps you motivated--and be sure to read the success…

-- This is an important point. If your clothing is already tight, it will take longer for you to need to switch to the next size. If you have been wearing your clothing bigger to start, you will drop sizes more quickly--at least for the first size-drop.

WOW!

Yikes!! 5 lb weights?? Back down to 2 or 3 lb weights to start. Then you'll be able to function the next day even though you will still be sore!

Well-said, anonymous. You often show your brilliance! (Sometimes I think your real name must be e.e.cummings because you so rarely capitalize your name!)

Welcome to MFP. How do you like the 17 day diet?
-
Wow. You folks are inspirational. Well done!

I'm not trying to start an argument either: one reason some people comment on the grammar or sentence structure of others is that the forums are all about communication, and clear communication is aided by--and often dependent upon--proper sentence structure, correct spelling, and reasonably-accurate grammar.

Yep. If you want to run, just start running. Do as much as you can each day and push yourself a little harder day after day. Lots of folks like the C25K program; starting with that is a good idea. You might want to log your minutes running/walking and note how you feel each day. I think you will be surprised that you see…

Welcome to MFP. You will find many encouraging folks and read plenty of inspiring stories here. All the best to you!

Plan to eat enough in the morning--maybe be a hobbit and enjoy two or three breakfasts before 11am. You'll be hungry after a good night's sleep and will need to fuel your amazing running machine. Terrific run! Congrats!!

I am less concerned about dinner tonight and more concerned about your over-eating--by your own admission--several times this week. Look at the bigger issue--you are not sticking to your daily caloric goal. If you want to lose the weight, and do it the "MFP-way," you need to reassess your daily eating patterns. Well, I am…

Blouses that are fitted in the front--with seams that run up the front of the top-- rather than tops that just have side darts--tend to fit better. And don't hesitate to wear something under the blouse and use double-stick tape where needed.

Stay out of the kitchen....and don't take food into any other room.
-
Well-done. And hooray for an attentive, supportive husband!
-
You can always do the high impact exercises in the apt hallway (outside your own apt) so your neighbors won't hear you  .

Elizabeth Barbone's book Gluten Free Baking has an excellent GF sandwich bread.

You should try to get close to your calorie limit each day. However, unless you are really under-consuming, my theory is do what works for you until it doesn't work any more--then change it up! Congrats on your loss; that is terrific!
-
Perhaps you need a lovely new dress...in a new size...and a Sat night date with your husband. He still might not notice your weight loss, but he'll notice YOU....which is more important

Some high schools, community colleges, universities, and local hotels have accessible gyms and swimming pools.
-
Sincere thanks to all of you for the work and sacrifice you engage in on behalf of our country and the rest of the world.

Target has Champion up to size 2X.

If it is affecting your relationships, and you say it is, it is a problem. I agree with some of the others--take a serious look at OCD. This is not insignificant.

BREAKFAST Like many others, I need a relatively quick breakfast. These are two of my favorites: 1) Bowl of Breakfast: 1/2 C regular oats 1 6 oz Greek yogurt --any flavor (sometimes I use a cup of vanilla or plain yogurt--always high protein, though) 1 C fresh or frozen fruit Cook the oats. Stir in yogurt and fruit. This…

You will need more than snacks for those long days....you need real food--some good protein. What about cans of tuna or chicken. Carry a can opener and some little mayo packets if you need them.
-
This is the place for you! Welcome!

Do you have access to a swimming pool? Around here, some of the hotels allow "the locals" to use their pools--sometimes for a small fee.

You could try planning your meals the day before. If you are supposed to eat 1200 calories each day, try to eat 300 calories for each meal and 300 in snacks. For breakfast you could have fruit, cereal, an egg, toast...whatever you like...that adds up to about 300 calories. Do the same for lunch--a sandwich, fruit, even…
