Chili's QUESADILLA EXPLOSION SALAD--1400 calories. Who knew??

If you have the opportunity to study abroad, definitely take it. I teach at the university level and see a big difference between students who have seen the world and those who have been land-locked. Chicago, Philadelphia, New York....all great ideas. How large of a city do you want to conquer??

I drive a paid-for 2004 Ford Explorer--red--with running boards:smile:

I agree. Also, be sure to measure your food. It is easy to guess what a cup of rice or a 3 ounce piece of chicken looks like, but unless you have mastered the "measure by eye" approach...and spot-check periodically...you (we) all would benefit by measuring each food.

almonds....bottle of water on your desk...I'm a teacher, too--my daughter makes a breakfast muffin that I am going to take for "second breakfast." It includes rice, beans, cheese, salsa, eggs....send me a message if you would like the recipe. It is easy and easily adapted to suit your tastes.

It is always best to check with your doctor regarding starting and stopping meds. Also, he/she can advise you regarding the weight gain/loss.
-
1. You might want to check with your doc. 2. Have you tried using an over-the-counter knee brace? 3. I am sorry your are having knee trouble.

Be sure to get enough sleep before hand so your resistance is at its best.

I use three flours: white rice, sweet white rice, and brown rice--usually Bob's Red Mill and Arrowhead Mills brands. I buy them at my local grocery store and at a natural food store. I also order them online. Once I used the King Arthur GF flour....but only once! My favorite GF baking book is Elizabeth Barone's Gluten-Free…

Sweet!

It is also at Target and Sam's Club....

Pulling myself out of a rut: I joined an MFP challenge; it began today. I'll do better with my eating and logging in because my teammates are tied to me and me to them. I am not usually a "group" person....but I needed something to help me snap out of a tough July; this is it. Don't give up--find an accountability partner…

Thank you for the confirmation on the start date.

Whew! First zombies, then a grammatical error....I thought I might have to drop, too! Thanks to you and your fiance for making the banner....and the correction. :flowerforyou:
-
Thanks, but it's ok about the zombie pics....I can close my eyes  I love the excitement I am reading here!
-
So, I'm ilookthetype's mom, and I have to admit....the biggest challenge for me in August will be to endure our team name and all of the images posted in reference to it....Really??? Zombies????????????? ugh! Here we go....all the best to each teammate!

Military Wives, et al: Please accept my family's sincere, heartfelt thanks for the work and sacrifice you and your families endure on behalf of all Americans...and the rest of the world. We appreciate you and are eager to support you in whatever ways we can. May God richly bless each and every one of you!

30 Day Shred is quite effective, but don't expect to master it on the first go-round. Stop to breathe when you need to, and then jump right back in with the video. Be consistent and challenge yourself to go a little farther today than you did yesterday. Since JM doesn't count, I had to--how many jumping jacks, how many…

Josh, thank you for your service to our country. My family and I appreciate your sacrifice. I am praying for your speedy and thorough recovery. Welcome to MFP. You will find lots of support and good ideas here.

I weigh in at the same time every day (and I do weigh myself every day, although I don't necessarily log my weight daily). It doesn't matter if I chose right after getting up, after working out, before or after eating, or before bed. Consistency is what counts--pick a time and stick with it. All the best to you!

I cook old fashioned oats in water and then stir in some Greek yogurt. I also add some fruit...yummy. If I don't use the yogurt, I add just a little brown sugar and fruit. I used to add a little chocolate Slim Fast...my family thinks it is gross, but it worked.

Most of us here on MFP are experts at gaining weight. Come on over; I'll feed you!

Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte and A Room with a View by E.M.Forster--all my favorite novels....plus Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.

The 30 Day Shred is a Jillian Michaels' DVD. Most people that I have heard from find it effective. It only takes about 20-25 minutes, so it is a concentrated workout. I do the workout and then run outside afterwards to bump up my exercise minutes.

I have not looked at your diary, but I would start logging on weekends...
-
That sounds like fun! I would definitely break my neck on roller skates, but it seems to work for you! Well done!!

My favorite GF baking book is Easy Gluten-Free Baking by Elizabeth Barbone. I have bought and given away seven copies of it. My GF (adult) girls love the bread from this book. We tried and rejected all of the store brands of bread...and were desperate for another option. This bread is kneaded in the mixer; it doesn't…

Done.

Wow, who knew? Perhaps I'll bring a basket of apples each day for my Fall 8am students...or at least tell them to grab one from the cafeteria on their way to class! Thanks for that good info.

Hey Katie, You and your husband can do this, especially since you are both committed to it. Give yourselves more time to get into the swing of things, and be sure to log all of your food. All the best to you!
