  • I often have a hard-boiled egg with my coffee and meal-replacement shake. Starts the day with protein, which is very good and low cal, and it's fast if you boil the eggs ahead of time and refrigerate. Also no added calories to prep like butter or oil for fried or scrambled (60 calories). Good luck.
  • Hello Margie! I have good news for you. I failed WW three times--the program (every one of them) was just too restricting, and I hated the meetings. Every time I went to a meeting someone would have had this terrific weight loss week, I didn't, and wanted to cry. With MFP you are your own free agent, no bloody meetings,…
  • Congratulations! Well, of course you can lose the last 27 lbs.--you're a pro at this point. People like you are an inspiration AND a valuable "go to" person on how to get it done. From where I sit, YOU ROCK! Best of luck on your last 27.
  • I believe you. Of course I believe you. I am on a plateau myself. From day one I had been losing nearly 2 pounds a week--woohoo! I was thrilled. Then I hit 10 pounds lost and things slowed down to more like 1 - 1 1/4 pounds per week--still acceptable, but no changes to food or exercise--if anything I was exercising a…
  • Thank you so much for sharing your story. You are an inspiration to all of us. Keep up the good work.
  • Just a few ideas . . . take them or leave them. MFP recently put up an article stating that if you don't get enough sleep you will be hungrier than if you do get enough sleep. Higher protein diet may fill you up more. Add even more water to fill you up. I drink an IdealShape meal replacement shake twice daily--packed full…
  • I've always believed that people persist at only the kind of exercises they enjoy, and I believe you have to want to lose weight to actually lose it. So how does one want to? One way is to know the consequences of being overweight your whole life--all of which I now know and wish I'd known sooner. Things to consider if you…
  • "OMG, I didn't know you were pregnant!" I was not.
  • What ever you do, don't give up. Let me say that again. Don't give up. I am 66 and have been trying to lose weight for years now. I've tried everything--high carb, high protein, vegan, you name it. At my age I have no metabolism, and I'm only able to do small amounts of exercise. And now finally with MFP I am losing at a…
  • Loose is what your cloths are going to be after you lose.
  • I know what you mean. My first few days of MFP I was over in sodium. It was because I was eating canned/packaged so-called healthy food. But I soon realized that there are HUGE quantities of SALT in packaged food. At my age too much salt is equivalent to asking to have a stroke. Eat close to the source--food that hasn't…
  • I'm new too. I've lost 7 pounds in 24 days. I weigh in every day and here's what that's like: down-up-down-up-lose a pound-up-down-up-down-lose a pound. That's just what I've learned to expect. A pound doesn't weigh all that much. Don't despair, I'm losing and I'm doing very little exercise. I'm 66. If it's working for me,…
  • Don't underestimate the power of metabolism. When you eat too little your body down shifts into starvation gear, burns less calories to keep you alive longer. Keep your body thinking you're fine by distributing your calories throughout the day--5-6 small meals are better than 3 big ones. Also, people think if they drink a…
  • I'm 66-no metabolism, no hormones, little exercise. No success with any other plan over last five years including vegan, low carb, high carb--you name it. Physical limitations so I can only do little bits of exercise every other day. Just signed up and MFP is working for me . . . Brilliant! I'm losing 1 pound per week and…
