  • I went running yesterday morning in 40* temps and I LOVED IT! Compared to the 107* I ran in in July I will take it, lol. I love winter. I dont know how I will still be able to exercise outside when the snow hits, but I will jump off that bridge when I get to it. I wish skiing wasn't so expensive...
  • I always yo yo, especially after big workouts. I recently upped my weights to 5pounds (its all I can handle, lol) and restarted the Shred. Yesterday I did 140 minutes of exercise, C25k and shred plus a lot of walking. Today I am up 2 pounds. It seems to be a pattern with me, so I am not terribly concerned.
  • I remember when I hit the 20 pound loss my mum said "are you sure you've lost 20 pounds, I wouldn't have thought it was that much." LMAO. I know she didnt mean it how it sounded. Also she is 5'4"...if she loses 20 pounds it is likely a lot more obvious than when I do as I am 5'11". By the time I hit the 40 pound mark she…
  • happy patient lovely mental (LMAO)
  • welcome!!! I live in the US now but was born in Falkirk. Love to come back whenever I can! Good luck, this is a great place for support.
  • I do the 30 day shred, I am on like. day 120...lol. But the first time I did it I damaged my knees and it was almost a year before I could give it a second try. I substitute a lot. I dont do any lunges or squats. My pushups are done against the wall. Some of the balancing exercises I do lying on the floor on my back…

  • I weigh every single morning. I was worried at first that it might seem obsessive, and since I have an obsessive personality I guess I really dont care. I need to see progress, and sometimes that means staying at the same weight for days at a time...but I need to see that the scale isnt going in the wrong direction. If I…
  • My kids don't let me stay in the bathroom long enough to require anything to do. Usually they are pounding on the door and stressing me out. I usually get about 3.5 minutes of peace from the time I sit down to the time I need to be done, lol.
  • I also have 3 children. Strangely enough I only have 2 hands. I am not a math genius but... I have travelled all over the world alone with my 3 children. This has involved airports, train stations and subways. As a way of keeping my children safe, I have used a leash when necessary. I dont yank on them or treat them like a…
  • only skinny people get to indulge? I am a fat person trying to be a thin person and every once in a while I have something really bad for me. But I dont eat like that all the time. So I am sure when I walk my size 18 butt out of McDonalds people might be thinking the same thing as you because they dont know how hard I am…
  • I try not to judge very often, but I am only human, lol. I have a hard time with people who mooch off of people I love. Specifically those who take advantage of others. It doesn't happen to me often because I don't have a pot to piss in but I do notice when it happens to my friends. Whining is a tough one. I have been…
  • I think I was on day 18 before I even lost anything. It was so frustrating. But I noticed my clothes were fitting better. Even when the 30 day shred was done I was only at a weight loss of about 4 pounds. But, if you keep at it you will find that all of a sudden something just clicks. I have done the 30 day shred about 3…
  • I am also 5'11" and I know what you mean about carrying it well, lol. I always thought I carried it well before, but now I am amazed at how much sexier I feel! You keep at it! You are doing awesome. Check out those measurements!
  • I think it depends. I walk an average of 3 miles a day. A few times a week I push it up to 6. When I do the shred I try to do it every day for the 30 days. But, if your body cant handle it it will tell you and you have to listen. Sometimes I know that it is too much and I need to back off a little bit. I think if you keep…
  • Dont get discouraged! Everyone starts somewhere. I didnt start out exercising 2 hours a day. I started out with the 30 day Shred which is only about 25 minutes and I took breaks, lol. Also, dont compare yourself to others. If 15 minutes is all the time you have right now then be glad that it is 15 minutes more than you…
  • I agree with the idea that you dont have to eat it. But putting my money where my mouth is would be pretty hard for me to do. I dont know why but it sometimes feels like my husband is trying to sabotage all of the hard work I am doing. He works for a national food company and often comes home with frozen pizzas, tubs of…
  • That I am always the person taking the pictures so in order to get one of myself I have to resort to a bathroom mirror picture. I didn't make the duck face, so at least I can hold my head high. Also, that my arms are still scary enough that taking the jacket off was not an option, lol.
  • Welcome! On April 1st, 2011 I weighed 282 pounds. I am still extremely overweight at 237 but I am getting there and you can too. I dont know what will end up being the key to your success...for me it is exercise. But whatever it is you can do this. (((hugs)))
  • I get horrible headaches when I dont eat, so in your situation I would have to pack a lunch at least and keep it at my desk. I would pack things like oranges, bananas, yogurts, grapes, etc. Sometimes I look at my food diary and it looks like all I ever do is eat, lol. I eat way more now than I ever did when I was heavier.
  • I do this! I already entered my food journal for the day even though we havent had dinner yet, lol. This makes it easier for me not to cheat too. I wont grab a snack later because I dont want to go in and change what I already recorded!
  • hmmmm, well I think that if you have many friends it is kind of unlikely that you are actually going to really look at their diary when they publish it every night. I see that people are under their calories and I will sometimes say "good job" without looking too closely. I don't mean "good job" for eating a snickers bar…
  • 1st time I am going to admit my weight on here for everyone to see, lol. I did the 30 day shred a year ago at 280 pounds and I hurt myself. I do not believe it was necessarily because of my weight but because of my form. Be very careful on the squats and lunges and if you need to modify something then do it. I did the…
  • I weigh every day and the fluctuations are kind of disheartening sometimes. But for the most part I record it once a week...unless I am at a plateau, like I am right now. There was a time when I was recording every 3 days "Tracey has lost 2.5 pounds since her last weigh in!" Those days seem to be long gone, lol. It just…
  • the 1st time I did the 30 day shred I thought I was going to die. I even got stuck on the toilet one night (I think about day 3), lol. It gets better, and eventually it doesn't hurt at all. I am on about the 4th run through, I am doing it every 3rd day or so now in conjunction with other exercises, but I am proud to say I…
  • A kilt is a sign of a custom, of tradition. For centuries a mans tartan announced to all who he was, his family name...his politics, even his religion. It is a throwback to a time where men pledged their allegiance and honor to a chief and almost everything they were, everything they fought for could be seen in the tartan…
  • I have exercised basically every day for the past 100 days. I think there were 3 days when I was really sick and I didn't and then I went on vacation so I wasn't logging exercise but I was walking at least 3 miles a day. But for the most part I am shredding or c25k daily. I noticed this week that my weight loss has…
  • I swim almost daily and it must be doing something! But I also walk a few miles a day , do the Shred a few times a week and am trying the C25k. Everything together is working. I swam laps for an hour today and am totally feeling it.
  • good job Cher!!! I am still wearing basically the same size clothing, but I bet if I actually went shopping I might be surprised! I lost it right around my bra line first, lol.
  • My husband has gained 150 pounds since we were married. It is so hard for me to watch him do this to himself. I am overweight but I am trying really hard to change. In the past he was not supportive at all, and the same thing happened this time. But I am on approximately day 50 and down 21 pounds and he is starting to get…
  • Please dont give up! Add me as a friend. I have so far to go but the difference for me this time is the support I am getting. I dont have the money to invest in any equipment or monitors. But even if the MFP numbers are wrong I am still doing so much more than I was before I started. As for junk food. I dont deny myself.…
