  • I know what you mean. I'm 31 and I have no kids, most of friends are still child free and our weekends tend to involve plenty of boozing. Not to say that we don't do plenty of non drinking activities too - but at this age every weekend is a wedding, hen do, 30th birthday, long weekend away, uni reunion etc, especially in…
  • Yep I'm doing London South on the Sunday this year. Did it 2 years ago and loved it, but I feel a lot less prepared this time around! x
  • Yeah... But aside from that, I'm a pescetarian and have been for the last 15 years or so. But I am trying to cut down on dairy too - no idea what that makes me. *kitten* the labels though. I think anything that makes you more adventurous with food is a great thing :D There are lots of good veggie/vegan threads on here and…
  • Hi ladies, I did one in 2013, and am signing up for this years London South when I get paid tomorrow (these things don't come cheap!) When I signed up for the last one I was the fittest I've ever been - still no athlete, but a regular gym visitor, could run 10k and had been doing a bit of weight/body weight training - only…
  • I'm veggie, but I do eat fish. I try not to rely on Quorn and stuff like that too often, and if I do eat it I get the mince or the pieces and incorporate them into homemade dishes like chilli, curries etc. I'm eat lots of lentils and beans and pulses - they are SO cheap, filling and a great source of protein. If time is an…
  • Never thought of sushi with cauliflower rice! Genius! :)
  • Porridge (oatmeal for you lovely folk across the Atlantic) with milled flax, almond milk, peanut butter and strawberry whey mixed in and a cuppa tea. Delicious, filling and 365kcal :)
  • Bump Anyone tried this with Almond milk? x
  • While I am all for health and fitness - my meals at home are usually cooked from scratch and relatively clean and macro balanced I am still of the opinion that life is too short to skip out on the social/happiness factor you get from eating out with friends, sharing cake etc. at family celebrations and having the…
  • I eat out all the time and have managed to loose the weight I wanted and maintain it for 6 months or so (bar a VERY indulgent xmas...). If it's a chain it's pretty easy to find the nutritional info online. But to be honest I am all for supporting small local restaurants wit freshly prepared interesting choices that change…
  • Haha! Naan is SO yummy! A friend just sent me this one: http://dairyfreecooking.about.com/od/soupschilistews/r/lentildahl.htm Looks pretty good :)
  • Thank you guys :) Some really awesome tips x
  • I've signed up to do it in the UK next June. Currently running a couple of times a week, slowly increasing my distance, just started some weight training and doing circuits classes a couple of times a week too. I'm nervous about it - I was the weediest least sporty kid in school, and know that I'll feel so proud of myself…
  • Well done, you look utterly fabulous! Glad you had a wonderful summer :) x
  • My boobs were a 34DD/E when I started running. I completed a 10K in June. I've now reached my GW, my boobs have shrunk a bit (about 34Dish now) and I'm still running. In fact I've signed up to do Tough Mudder next year (a 10-13 mile assault course). If I can do it anyone can. Start out gradually and see how you feel.…
  • Hi, I'm Lotty. I live in Bournemouth, and never thought I'd be a fan of running (although I do like adventurey stuff - but it's been a good few years since I've done any), but this year I trained for the 10K Race for life and surprised myself with how much I got into running. 10K is the furthest I've done, and I've been…
  • Of course!! Me too, with the help. I'm beginning to wonder what I've let myself in for!! X
  • Yep, you can easily do that. If you're running 4 miles now you can easily run 6ish in 7 weeks. I trained for a 10K in June and did it in about that time. You'll be fine. Goooooood Luuuuuck XXXX
  • Blend it up with peanut butter and greek/vanilla yoghurt. Or put it in oatmeal with a banana. x
  • I don't like the idea of classifying foods into treats/not treats. It makes me feel like I should look forward to unhealthy snacks, and like I'm depriving myself if I don't eat them. To be honest with you, I love to eat. I try and make sure every meal and snack I eat is delicious in it's own right and really something I…
  • I will never give up booze. I just try my best to allow for it. On days when I know I'll be drinking I make sure I work out a lot and that I leave plenty of calories for the evening. Luckily I'm not a fan of sweet drinks - my drink of choice is a Gin & Slimline tonic )around 50cals) I like beer too, but rarely like to get…
  • My advice is to make sure when you do eat to make sure you have proper balanced nutritious meals. Research online food that keep you fuller longer. High protien, high fibre stuff. Oats for breakfast usually keep me going until lunch, a sugary cereal bar won't, so it's worth investing a few extra calories in proper food…
  • bump! These look awesome!
  • Easily 10lbs in a week. I find it's the lead up too, I know I'm going away and going to be bad, so I kind of give up a few weeks before I go too. But holidays are for relaxing, counting calories isn't relaxing, and I'm sure you'll find it'll drop off in no time :) x
  • 50g would be the dry weight. I usually have about 35g of dry oats and add in extras. The oats alone work out at about 120kcals, so 190 for 50g makes sense. Hope that helps x
