I do a cheat meal or day if I notice that my weight loss seems to be slowing down, going with the idea that my body is becoming too accustomed to the amount I'm feeding it. Or when I have a party to go to, like last night. It was catered by Red Hot & Blue. How the heck do people who eat at places like that manage to stay…

There's a couple of exercises in the database called Circuit Training that track calories burned. I've started using that.

I often think my Polar FT7 is underestimating my calorie burn also. Curiously, the burn rate has gotten better as I've gradually update the weight data to lower weights. It also frequently loses the heart rate altogether. I've changed the battery so it's not that. I'm strongly considering getting some conduction gel for…

My band size has definitely decreased but the cup size is about the same, unfortunately. I think they are a little smaller because they fit better in the cup and don't "pillow" out, but I don't think they are going to shrink away. Still, I think my appearance in front is much better now.

I started out working with a trainer who was into crossfitness (for lack of a better word.) He was interesting in strengthening my whole body, particularly my core, as well as helping me lose weight. We discussed my diet but since I'd been dieting for awhile with pretty good success, he didn't interfere unless I asked his…

It happens to me too. I don't know why. It's a bit irritating but I just try to push through it.

I love 'em. I have one every night as my dessert and have never had any problems. However, my sister said she had some issues of that sort. Of course, she ate two of them, so maybe they aren't good in quantities.

I follow the Abs Diet for Women. It was strongly recommended to me by my doctor, and I have found it to be a very sane lifestyle plan. You don't have to count calories on it but you can if you want. It helps me to do that so I joined MFP. I also exercise a great deal.

Sounds really good. I'm going to try it.

I try to stock up on my favorite frozen, steamable vegetables when they are on sale, and I try to limit the amount of meat I buy. It's only me, so when I buy a package of chicken breasts I can usually make them last for several meals. Last night I made a big pot of soup that required several ingredients and so wasn't cheap…

I have large calves also. I think part of mine is edema, i.e., swelling. They are large all the way down to the feet which are normal-slzed. I've never been able to wear boots and straight-leg jeans are a challenge. Even socks are mostly too tight to go up around the calves where they belong and consequently bunch…

Mostly just have dinner in the evening or breakfast if I work out in the morning. However, on the weekends I love to fix a fruit smoothie with lots of protein.

I got an HRM in September. I was appalled at the number of calories that it said I was burning. I knew MFP's estimate was ridiculously high, but I thought the machine that I was using was reasonable. Nope. According to my HRM I was only burning about half of what the machine said. I thought it was wrong for quite awhile,…

A lot of the stability ball exercises. I don't want people seeing me get dumped off. At least I get back on.

I also have a Polar FT7, and while I don't use it in the pool, I do have a considerable amount of trouble keeping a connection. It will drop to 0 with little or no warning even when I'm moving pretty smoothly on the elliptical. And if I run where there's more jostling motion, it almost always loses connection now. I'm not…

I'm in a bit of quandary here. I've lost weight the past year by following pretty much what your doctor told you: I've been gradually decreasing my caloric intake (as my weight dropped) and for the most part not eating back my exercise calories. I do have cheat days where I blow out my calories so that my body doesn't…

I agree with this. My trainer has told me the same things, about temporarily increasing food intake and changing up workouts. It does work.
-
Just exercise when you can; it's always good for you. Personally, I find that I have a harder time accelerating my heart rate at night than I do when I work out in the morning, but that seems to be just the way my internal "clock" works, because my blood pressure is generally lower in the evening than in the mornings also.

Well, I have had that problem. I found that I was really full after dinner and didn't even want to eat any more. I couldn't see the point of stuffing more food into my mouth that I wasn't even hungry for just to hit some arbitrary number. Eating because it was there not because I was hungry was what got me into this…

I'm doing 2x per day, at least 60 minutes. I do strength training with a trainer twice a week, and 1-2 times per week on my own. Cardio the rest of the time. I try to vary the cardio: Mostly I do the elliptical, but I also work in time on the rowing machine, stationary bike and stepper. I also do brisk walk/jogs with my…

My bill has definitely gotten more expensive and I go more often for produce. Before: Cheddar cheese 2% milk Hamburger Helper Ground meat Thick pork chops Desserts (bakery cookies, pies, cakes, brownies--whatever looked most tempting) Potato chips Pretzels Night Hawk Steak & Mac dinners Refrigerated pasta and sauce Bagels…

I only wear mine when I work out. You don't want to drain the batteries too quickly. But I keep wearing it after my workout until my heart rate goes back to normal.

I have the FT7. Be warned: It's evil. Since I got it in September I have consistently pushed myself harder and harder every exercise session to get my heart rate up because I was appalled at how few calories it said I was burning compared to what I thought I was burning. In consequence, I've lost about 50 lbs since…

If you brew it correctly, green tea can be a delicate delight, with many having a wonderful nutty taste. However, most people don't know how to brew green tea correctly. First, it should not be brewed the same as black tea. The water for green tea should never be boiling. It should only be steaming briskly--approximately…

Lots of fruit. Also, I really enjoy Fiber One's 90 calorie brownies. They are really good!

Music is primary for me. I put on my current playlist, turn it up loud enough to block whatever music's playing in the gym and just go. I can see the TVs from my position but it's too far away for me to read the close-captioning, so I only glance at it. Watching people is more fun for me, especially if I see them doing…

I adjust my weight settings every 5-10 lbs. The other settings obviously don't change. :)

It's the elliptical for me since I don't have very good knees. I started off walking on the treadmill and then gradually built up my endurance on the elliptical. I found that I got a much better burn on the elliptical. Now I'm trying to build myself up to running/jogging, although I may not ever be able to do that too…

This is my experience as well. I've just learned to deal with it, even though it's frustrating to see a slow-down in my weight loss program. Just don't stress too much and STAY ON COURSE.

Almonds are actually supposed to be really good for you, but one ounce is something ike 170 calories! I agree with the poster who suggested measuring out the nuts next time so you won't be so tempted to keep eating them. One ounce is about 24 nuts.
