Thanks all for sharing. I do agree the home made ones will beat anything in the market. However, I find Quest bars really satisfy my hunger, one moment I'm hungry, then BAM Quest bar and I'm full for a couple of hours. I don't feel guilty having them. I do agree the texture can be better. As for shakes, not my thing :)

Cut in half, steam with garlic in steamer for flavor, sprinkle lemon pepper, zest of orange, throw in a few raisens, voilla! For alternative middle eastern twist, add garlic to saute, sprinkle sumac, olive oil.

Being middle eastern, here is my advice: Use a nice squeeze of lemon, extra virgin olive oil, normal tahini, and a nice clove of garlic, sprinkle some paprika ;) And use natural chick peas not canned, it makes a HUGE difference. Just soak them in water for a few hours.

Favorite healthy food is a simple salad of tomatos cucumbers and shredded lettuce. Reserved food is usually dates, I love dates especially majdool. Special treat is pizza that I bake myself. Bread and selective cheese as well.

From where I come from we always have bulgur as an alternative to rice, for hundreds of years. Hi Luluzete, I need to lose 90 lbs, and started 3 days ago. I find it easier when I drink plenty of plain water. It fills me up, and I'm suspecting that when we feel hungry, we are usually thirsty.
