  • I completed the programme about 6 weeks ago. I think I'm one of the few 'graduates' that didn't fall in love with running! I'm really glad I did it, I'm even more glad I finished it and I definitely improved my fitness and got a sense of achievement...... but I still don't enjoy running  It did however give me a fab…
  • Well this is me. I swear, if I thought about anything useful as much as I think about biscuits/cakes/chocolate I could solve all the world's problems by lunchtime.
  • It's probably hunger!
  • Absolutely. The one thing I would suggest is to look at how much you're drinking each day. You definitely need proper medical advice with regards to both the constipation and your eating habits - but an extra glass of water a day never goes amiss.
  • Also worth bearing in mind that a lot of entries don't have full nutritional info added. So even though the calories may be correct, they may just not have their iron content listed as it's another number someone needed to add.
  • Didn't do it. Will try (yet again) today.
  • I'm going to make it through the day without binging.
  • Well if your BMI is 22 you're clearly not "slightly oveweight" and he clearly doesn't know what he's talking about.
  • Do you weigh less than 2 months ago? If so, your calories burned for the same activity are going to be less as you're moving less around.
  • I've been really struggling with binging over the last 6 months or so. Yesterday I went to a supermarket on the way home from work (always a difficult time for self-control) and just bought the cat food I'd gone in for. No biscuits, no crisps, no family pack of doughnuts..... yay!
  • I managed to convince myself that a sainsbury's peshwari naan was 220 calories (which was clearly never going to be the case lol). That was actually the amount for 1/2 of it. Oh well!
  • My goal right now is to stop the upward trend (which means stopping the binges). Right now I'm not thinking about losing what I've regained (that can come later) - if I can just stop things getting worse that will be a good start!
  • Whatever time you'll be able to fit into your schedule, stick to and enjoy. Really does vary for everyone.
  • You've made a really good start in finding a therapist (I totally agree with the recommendations to find a new one though!) Just making that initial connection and asking for help is something a lot of people really struggle with, so you should be really proud of yourself. I hope you manage to find a different therapist…
in BED? Comment by teranga79 June 2019
  • Yep, I swear there is no food out there that will actually make me feel full.
  • Definitely the latter for me. Once I get started I will just eat all the food - not just all the fopd I have in my hand at that particular time, but all the food. A couple of days ago I was stuffing bran flakes and currants in my mouth, I'm not even that keen on either of those but it was all I could find.
  • At the moment it feels like all I have are trigger foods! Generally though it's biscuits (as in cookies), cake or chocolate. I so wish I could have a slice of cake and be happy with that but as soon as I taste it that's it, all bets are off!
  • Well over 10,000 calories in last two days. Wtf!?! 😧
  • Oh hell yes. Unfortunately! I've never understood how people can eat 2 or 3 biscuits (cookies) with a nice hot drink. For me, it's a case of stuffing the entire packet in, hiding the evidence and then feeling guilty and stupid.
  • Lots of us don't have anything like that level of control! A binge day or two turns into six months of full-on BED (with associated self-loathing and other mental health issues).
  • Never has 'no brainer' been a more accurate phrase... *rollseyes*
  • @HitTheRoad it really does sneak up on you! Life just gets busy (and often gets pretty rubbish), and before you know it you're rummaging in the back of the wardrobe for your biggest clothes. We've all been there! Sorry to hear about your dad and your other family issues, I hope life is on a more even keen right now. Hang…
  • Assassins Creed
  • Quick check in from me. Facing a v stressful day and am already leaning towards massive over-eating as a coping mechanism. Am hoping that posting here will be a little shot of accountability. My goal is to post again at the end of the day having got through the stress without a binge. Hope everyone had a good weekend and…
  • I think there's definitely something in this. Again, am talking from my own experience here and not any sort of scientific knowledge. I don't know what the science does/doesn't say. What I do know (believe me, I KNOW this) is that the more cake, biscuits, chocolate, processed bread etc I eat, the more I want. And it's not…
  • @nowine4me yup!! Fell off the wagon again yesterday - back to three binge days in a row now. Arrgh!! Off for a serious chat with myself.
  • So glad I found this thread! My SW in Jan 18 was 157, got to GW of 132 in July 18 then spent the next few months putting it back on. On Jan 1st this year was back at 150 and v annoyed at myself. Just about got to 140 in April but have been really struggling with binging and was nearly 145 again this morning - which is not…
  • This has explained exactly what I go through so much better than I could have expressed it. I know, rationally, that of course I can stop, that's I'm the only person who has control over what I eat (and how much of it). But mid-binge, and pre-binge, a herd of wild horses couldn't keep me away from the food.
  • Yep, am exactly the same (only with much, MUCH bigger binges lol!) For me it's biscuits (cookies) and cake. Also chocolate to some extent, although am slightly better with that. If I have a biscuit or piece of cake I won't be able to sit still until I've found and demolished enough for at least 20 people.
