From previous posts and my own knowledge you should moisturize like crazy using something like coconut oil or cocoa butter, you should drink lots of water, you should lift weights, skin brushing, and losing at a slow pace. Then, once you get to maintenance weight, you may need to give your skin a year or two to tighten up.…

Tea? Coffee? Diet drink (if you drink those)? Sometimes having something with some sort of taste helps.

When I would have really bad flare ups with my lungs, I would be placed on this. I am no longer allowed to go on it though, as the last time I was on it I started to hallucinate (which is actually a very common effect). Also, while I did not eat any more, I retained so much water that I gained 10 pounds. My entire body…

Scales are always best. Really just commenting so I can see the video's later. I think I've already seen one, but I'm not sure if I've seen the other.

I'm so tired of seeing the clear pee thing. Truth is, your body is mostly water. You need to drink water. Certain biological processes that we participate in daily require significant amounts of water. A great example is breathing. There are several studies that show a link between asthma an water consumption. Your lungs…

I would suggest trying to change your calorie amount. Change it, and then give it a few weeks to see how your body responds. Also, you may want to look at where you are getting your calories from. Carbs over a certain amount make me hold onto weight (and I love my carbs). I still eat a fair amount of them, just not as many…

I'm 5'4" and my thighs are 24 inches each (at their widest up top). I hate how big they are and I would kill to have your 22" thighs. Are you really over 6 feet? If so, then I would think you would not want your thighs to get much smaller. Maybe tone them, yes. But not smaller.

I think part of the reason why it switched from "calories in vs calories out" to "eat clean" is because of the changes in the standard diet of most developed countries. Our dinner choices how switched from home cooked meals that had whole grains, smaller portions of meat, and fresh veggies. Now it's either take out, or if…

Portobello Parm (its a portobello cap filled with sauce, mozz and parm cheese) over a mix of pasta and spinach.

Also, 2 inches off your hips is no small feat! My god, thats already a difference in pants size!!!! I wish I could lose 2 inches off my hips, but mine are going no where I'm afraid. You have lost a lot, not a little. Make sure you have the right perspective here.

No. Keep up with the weights. You may not see the pounds move as quickly, but I bet you'll see other differences (i.e. posture, the way things fit, how "jiggly" things seem, etc). Plus, as a woman weight lifting is so important as it helps maintain bone density.

Showering as often as you are is making the issue worse, not better. The water actually dries out the skin, making your body want to produce more oil to make up for it. When you first started eating better, you probably were detoxing to an extent. This can go on for a few weeks tops. Now, its probably your body getting…

NO, weights made my arms look toned and firm, but my measurements went down on each one :) Weights will not make you bulky unless you actually train with the intent to do so (i.e. calorie surplus)

Leading up to my wedding I def cut a little back on carbs (Still needed enough to feel like I had energy for my workouts though!) upped the protein, made sure to lift (heavy!) and made sure I had a lot of cardio as well. I pretty much did about an hour of cardio most days (at least 6 days a week) lifted at least 4, though…

I agree. Don't weigh in then. How do your clothes feel? How is your energy level? Do you take measurements? Have they changed at all? Nothing you do tonight will have any impact on your weigh in tomorrow. You've basically already answered your question in your original post.

Also, do squats! And do them with heavy weights! they will do wonders for your legs and bum :)

You can still have it in a normal weight, but it typically reduces at the very least. Make sure to be building muscle, not just losing weight. Also, make sure you drink enough water, eat healthy fats, skin brush, and moisturize. All of these things can help a lot with your skin. And while excess fat can cause cellulite,…

I knew this topic would spark debate, and that I would hear many of the comments posted. However, I did want to correct one argument. Someone posted about Inuit being healthy and living long lives. In fact, this is not true. Many Inuit live to about the age of 50, with the average age around 43. I've also seen reports with…

In the past running has always been the best thing for me. And weight training heavy. Those two help reshape me. Even if I'm still a pear, its a much smaller, more toned pear.

I think you could still make weight while eating 1200 calories. This is how: Lower carb (around 100 grams, so not terribly low), higher protein (lean) reduce dairy or cut out (digestive reasons....most adults are not designed to properly digest milk and milk products after young childhood), lots of veggies, lots of water,…

I have a heart valve that goes two ways (Mitral valve prolaps) so my heart rate is always faster during exercise. This has not appeared to have much of an impact on my ability to lose weight though.

I have MVP. Was diagnosed years ago when I thought I was dying,, that's how much my chest hurt. Mostly now my symptoms show up more as anxiety (many people with MVP can have severe panic attacks). I tried cutting out caffeine, but I love the stuff, so I just make sure to have adequate water (more than the 8 cups a day). I…

I'm 5'4", and 149. I want to be 110-115. Really I want to be a size 4, so if I reach that before I get to 110-115, then I'll stop. I remember in high school (I was the same weight as I am now) that I was told to lose weight by my dr when I was between 125 and 135. And this was later in high school, not the first year or…

Don't forget to take measurements!

I am not taking it off, per say. I may not be fully in my calories, but I have set a limit on how much I can eat. My husband and I are going to eat some pizza and split a pitcher of beer. After that, it's water and diet coke. I have to get up early to go to work the next day anyway.

Proper shoes, possibly inserts ( I had to go through several before I found some that work, but I have other structural issues) stretching, calf raises, toe point/flex. These will all be beneficial. Also, you may want to look into icing after workouts, at least in the beginning. If all else, fails, KT Tape works great…

I don't have a HRM right now. I want to get one, just not in the budget right now. Thanks for all of the input everyone :)

A very common side effect (though not very well known) of birth control pills is hair loss. Have you recently changed what type your are on? Or recently gone on/off bc? Everyone elses suggestions were really good. I would get a blood test that tests your overall health (looking at white blood cell count, vitamins, etc) as…

The difference between quitting smoking and changing your eating habits is this: When you quit smoking, you cut out cigarets and never had to touch another on. When you quit eating junk, you still have to eat food. Food addictions or poor relationships with food are so hard to break because you always have to eat. You…

I've taken slim quick. They are basically a caffeine pill that also works as a diuretic. I liked the extra boost of energy I get from them for my work outs, but I can get almost the same boost from drinking a cup of coffee. IDK. In the short term, yes I think they helped a little. In the long term, not so much. My weight…
