Thanks for this link. I need to increase my calories a bit. Only 200 but that could make all the difference. I also appreciate the breakdown of percentages of fat/protein and carbs.

Bumping for later!

I prefer almond milk. Regular milk upsets my stomach, soy milk has an estrogenic affect on women and I cant have soy due to thyroid issues. So almond milk works perfect!

Hi there- I had RAI done back in early November, started Armour in January when my levels dropped. I think I have lost and gained the same 3 pounds since then. So no, no real weight gain. I have noticed that since I changed my diet, it has helped with weight and feeling better. I cut out gluten and drastically lowered my…

I am pleased to say that my migraines have gone away! Another person here on MFP who also has thyroid eye disease suggested I take selenium and curcumin every day. I started that about a week ago and the very next day the pressure behind my eyes was gone!!!! I now faithfully take the combination every night with the rest…

My favorite morning recipe is: 4 carrots 1 apple or pear 1 lemon Something easy to start off with without the "veggie" taste. I found all my recipes through this website: http://www.rebootwithjoe.com/recipes/ Good luck to you guys!

Thank you all so much for the responses. it is very apparent I need to cut more sugar out of my diet. I at one point and was eating a lot cleaner, recently I started to eat some bread and processed food again, maybe that on top of thyroid and adrenal issues is whats causing these darn migraines. eating clean starts again…

Unfortunately, the only two meds they give out is Armour and one synthetic. I can ask though. I know my numbers are still hypo, but a huge improvement in just a 3 weeks period, so I'm hoping it will continue to go towards hyper. I take more blood tests the last week of March, so will see if there is more improvement.

8 years???? Holy Moly Island Monkey!!! I dont know if I can deal with all this for 8 years! I am working on getting my immune system on better track so that at least I can be a bit healthier! I was reading somewhere last night that swollen face and eyes are a symptom of being hypo, so hopefully once my meds are at a…

. I just turned 45 years old last month. I have only been on thyroid medication since January. Currently I am taking 60mg of Armour. I work a 9 to 5 job and have a very strict schedule for bedtime. I go to bed between 9 and 10 every night and wake up at 7:00am. I know that my adrenals are sluggish and currently my body is…

My vitamin D is in liquid form. Five drops equal 400iu which the bottle recommends. Sounds like I need to triple that amount. Will start doing that this evening. Is there a time of day that you take all your supplements? I take armour at 6:30 and 1:00 so I usually take all my supplements in the evening before bedtime.

I just had my vitamin D levels checked with this last blood test. I was at 21 and the range is 20 - 79, so I'm low on that as well. My doctor told me to continue to take the iron supplement, (Ferritin is low but other iron levels are fine) and then to start taking 1500 - 2000 IU of Vitamin D a day. I have stuff in liquid…

Hi there- I was hyperthyroid with Graves disease. I am now Hypothyroid. A website I found really helped me was www.stopthethyroidmadness.com. Dont get me started on my eyes!!!!! That is my biggest complaint right now!!! My upper eye lids are sooooo swollen and droop over my eye lashes and I have puffy pockets under my eyes as well! I look horrible! My eyes are dry, sticky and itchy! Thought I had an infection, but doctor says all clean! So frustrating, looks…

Thanks for the article! I thought that the eye disease caused by grave's was only the one where your eyes started to protrude and make you look surprised all the time! I didnt realize my puffiness, dry eyes and soreness were all part of this as well. It surely doesnt help that I'm a smoker!!! Once I was diagnosed with…

Feel free to add me! I'm a mom of 10 kids, some are grown and married now or just out of the house, but I do still have one at home and plenty of experience with all the kids at home and juggling work, kids, exercise and just "Me" time.

I guess my next question would be when does the puffiness in my face go away? I noticed a lot of puffiness around my eye around where it wasnt there about a month ago! Not liking it at all! Does this go away once I'm at a proper dose? Please dont tell me I have to look like this forever!!!???

I take my meds at 6:15am and then again at 1:00pm. I dont have to worry about calium intake since I dont really eat any diary, I take my supplements, that have calcium in them, around bedtime, so about 11:00pm.

Can I still join????

I went gluten free sometime last year! Made a huge difference with bloating and such. I wasnt hypo at the time though, I was hyper. Now I'm hypo and it still seems to help. I went GF because I have an intolerance. I also started eating Paloe, which made a HUGE difference! I do allow myself some cheats, but I feel it the…

Alot of people tell me that they split the dose so that they can get a consistent amount of hormones flowing through their system during the day. I'm starting to see why. I'm full of energy in the morning but seem to falter around 3:00 if not a bit before. Will try splitting and see if it works.

I take my armour at 6:30 in the morning before getting out of bed. I chew the tablet (30 mg) then drink it down with water. I take my supplements in the evening before bedtime so that they dont interfere. I dont eat or drink anything other than water till around 9:30am so that should be the cause of anything. I will try…

Thank you everybody! I know my ferretin is low, but doctor has not addressed that yet. I should really ask her to check all my adrenal functions and such. I'll start taking it earlier to help boost cortisol!

Two eggs with spinach and pico de gallo! YUM! Coffee and non-dairy creamer.

Thanks! My lethargy has gotten better, I am no longer sweating all the time, but now I'm cold (but that was always normal for me before becoming hyper), my skin is fine and my hair no longer comes out in clumps! My weight is steady, after the initial loss, I am now loosing maybe 1/2 pound every week or so, but no weight…

Ive been on the paleo diet for medical reasons. Cutting out grains and dairy has not been hard for me, because these are the foods that make me feel miserable. www.paleoplan.com/recipes is a great site! I'm not calorie deprived, never have been on this diet. I hate to cook and this has been very easy for me to follow. I…
