  • I completely agree about the fruit. I was with WW for about a year and once my BMI dropped out of Obese into Overweight, it's as if WW stopped working for me, though I suspect it had to do with all of the fruits that I was "allowed". OP, if the accountability is what you're looking for, there are a lot of supportive people…
  • Grilled PB&J is delicious! I make it like grilled cheese as well. Everything melts together and is so good!

  • I see so many positive things! I love it! For me, the biggest change for me socially was that I lost a lot of people in my life that I thought were friends. When I started losing weight, I had several "friends" that tried to make me feel bad or guilty for making these changes because I no longer went out several nights of…
  • I am totally in for this. I didn't even know that there would be one in Milwaukee! I was supposed to run it in Chicago last year, but ended up missing it. This looks like so much fun!
  • I would love to be a travel host - someone like Rick Steves or Anthony Bourdain. Traveling to different places, finding non-touristy must-sees, trying lots of new cultures (and their foods!). All of it sounds amazing to me.

  • Started C25K w4d1 first thing this morning and I have an 8 mile training walk for the SGK 3 day planned for later.
  • There is also the Rock 'n Sole for Summerfest in Milwaukee on June 23rd. I'll (most likely) be there since it's just a few blocks from work. Is anyone else thinking about it?
  • I had never even heard of quinoa until I found this recipe (http://glutenfreegoddess.blogspot.com/2010/10/quinoa-salad-with-pears-and-baby.html) and since I tried it, it is the best thing that I have discovered so far in my weight loss journey. If fact, for dinner tonight, I made quinoa stuffed peppers…
  • Wow, amazing! You look really good. Congrats! :)
  • I'm 5'4" and my initial goal is around 145 but I'll play around with the ultimate goal depending on where I feel comfortable. I think 135 is probably going to be my ultimate goal.
  • I just signed up for the Chicago 3 day. This will be my first time and while it seems like a difficult task to raise $2300, it is definitely not impossible. Besides, it is a small price to pay for the cause. If anyone else is doing the 3-day (in Chicago or anywhere else I suppose) and wants to trade advice and support,…
  • If you're looking for transportation between major cities, take Megabus into consideration. The trips are usually pretty reasonable and I've never had a problem with them. I also used to live in Boston and I loved the MBTA, but the worst part is that it stops running so early (midnight or so).
  • Oh that picture of Tennant. Perfect. I love Doctor Who and while I like Rory and Amy, I actually really miss the Rose and 10 ship.
  • I love oatmeal and I have it every morning. If I'm making it fast in the microwave, I love it with a tablespoon of simply fruit: blueberry and a 1/4 cup of raisins. However, I also really enjoy slow cooker oatmeal. Steel cut oats with apples, cinnamon, vanilla extract, brown sugar, and walnuts. Amazing!
  • A salad of 2 cups of 50/50 mix, 3oz (about 8) of grape tomatoes, and Walden Farm Raspberry Vinaigrette, as well as a whole wheat sandwich of DW gourmet lite turkey and muenster. (I took some of the lettuce w/ dressing on it and put it on the sandwich) Yum! and only 400 calories for the whole meal, plus 25g of protein.
  • I use Wii Fit from time to time, but I don't find it very challenging. I LOVE EA Active, though it is less like a game and more like an actual fitness class (lots of upper body exercises like shoulder presses and bicep curls, lower body like squats and lunges, and cardio like boxing and running.)
  • This thread is so inspirational! I'd love to join you all in this! I'm currently 189.6 at 5'4" so the idea that I could be in the 150s by June is a big motivator for me. :) Feel free to add me if you'd like. Most of my real life friends aren't so supportive about this change that I've made, so I could really use some push…
  • Shorewood here (though born and raised in Milwaukee) I notice all of these posts about snow, yet I don't think we've gotten more than a dusting here all season. *knock on wood*
