  • Last time I tried MFP, I got really demotivated when I wasn't losing exactly two pounds a week or more. This time I told myself that a little weight lost every week is PROGRESS, and PROGRESS is the most important part. Now that I've lost almost twenty pounds, I've gotten into exercising, which will help that progress! You…
  • Hello all! Restarted my MFP journey a few weeks ago. Got to the point of tipping the scale at 300 lbs and felt awful, awful, AWFUL! Goal weight is currently 175 and then gonna see where I need to go from there! Feel free to add me so we can help each other along the way! :-)
  • I was just recently diagnosed with celiac - I haven't done any specifically gluten-free cooking (i.e., substitutions in recipes), but I am eager to try some soon.
  • I understand what you mean - a weight gain plateau. Yeah, my weight high was hovering around 290 lbs. I would eat fast food every single day, sometimes twice, because I was always on the go - working 10-12 hours 5-6 days a week. So I think I was JUST barely burning enough calories standing/walking at work so much that it…
  • I once bought some cookies which said ''100 calorie servings!'' without reading the facts on the back, only to find out when I got home that one serving was 1 little cookie. I read every nutrition label diligently before placing the item in my shopping cart. If it's not calorie-cost-efficient for me, even if they're…
  • This is why I weigh in on Friday mornings!
  • Depends on really how overweight you are and how much you have to lose. I need to lose 100+ pounds to reach my BMI goal. I have lost 28 now, and only the people I see only a daily or at least weekly basis have really noticed. I don't think I even look any different.
  • Woo! Thank you! I never go over my total carbs, just that darn sugar. And, sodium is still a problem, but I'm combating it with water, water, water! Thanks folks! :-)
  • Must be nice, lol. :noway: In all seriousness, yes, this will help you. I have a skinny friend who has been trying to put on some weight and muscle, and he's been using this site in the opposite way I have. Just enter a goal weight higher than the starting weight!
  • You look fantastic! Congratulations! You are inspiring to us all - it can be done! :-)
  • I have never had the confidence to approach men or go out on dates, and I am 21 years old! I am in the prime of my life and should be having fun! Instead, the fact that I ballooned to almost 300 lbs. and currently wear a size 26W is holding me back. One of my biggest motivations for losing weight - I want to feel…
  • Yes, yes, and YES! Walking is GREAT exercise. I take my dog on a 3.5 mile walk 1-2 times a week, and alongside tracking my calories, have lost about 24 lbs. Walking rocks! :-)
  • Hello! I'm new too - 3 weeks-ish here. I did Weight Watchers a couple of years ago, too. Lost 50 pounds fairly quickly, and had fun at the meetings. But, I didn't like having to pay $10 a week and I also felt very hungry the whole time I was on the program. I am having much better luck just plain ol' counting calories.…
  • 21 years old, 75 pounds to lose! 12 down so far. Good luck to everyone! We can all do it! :-)
