  • You guys are so awesome! Thanks so much for all the tips and encouragement. I wish it was already 5 so I can get out of work and get on that treadmill! So far I really love C25K and am really glad it exists, but I think covering up the phone and timer is probably the best idea. Tonight, I'll try putting on a Friends DVD…
  • That's so awesome! I definitely want to keep at it, I'm probably just being impatient. How long did it take you to reach your goal?
  • Thanks so much for those! I'm definitely going to check them out!
  • I think I'm going to stick it out with Week 2 for the rest of this week...and then maybe try week 3 next week. I'm scared of it lol
  • I run on a treadmill, and give myself tons of distractions lol. I watch TV, listen to music, AND read haha. I much prefer running outside, but I moved to this tiny little town with NO sidewalks! I'm also a juvenile probation officer, so going to the HS track is out lol. There are a few parks that have trails and stuff, but…
  • My calories were set at 1200 cals and, while it is rough, it's easier to achieve than you'd think!
  • That was very interesting! I didn't know about the ice water. I'm definitely going to be drinking more of that!
  • I'm not a morning person and don't have much time either. Smoothies are always great for the mornings and there are a TON of recipes out there, from fruit smoothies to chocolate peanut butter! You can make those the night before and just grab n' go the next morning. Oatmeal is always great too. If you have a crock pot…

  • Bumpity bump =)
  • Yes!!! These types of cakes are SO good! My favorite is using Diet Big Red with Strawberry cake, Diet Coke with chocolate cake, and Diet Pineapple Soda with yellow cake, or Diet Sprite with Lemon cake. These come out a little spongey and sticky, but I like 'em like that =)
  • That totally makes sense. Thanks! It not being in the database was probably a sign that I should have stayed away from it
  • I don't...or at least I haven't been. I exercise late at night, usually around 9 or 10, and i don't really exercise for that long (yet). For the last couple weeks I've only done C25K and maybe an exercise DVD. The most I've burned during a workout is 500 cals. I can't imagine working out, being exhausted at 11 p.m., and…
  • McCormick makes this awesome one dish packet. You mix it with milk (I use fat free milk). Then you put chicken breast on top of rice. I use about 3 chicken breasts (fiance likes to eat 2) and I also use instant brown rice. It also calls for mushrooms, but I hate mushrooms, so I use green beans or corn (sometimes both!)…
  • This is my second go round with C25K. Even though I quit after two weeks the first time, I still love it and hope to actually get through it this time. I'm on week 2, day 3 (the time I quit the last time). I can breeze through the first week, but this week was giving me some problems. I HATE running, but I love this…

  • People who aren't my family or close friends and who haven't seen me before all this weight gain tend to tell me, "WHAT! You don't need to lose weight! You're a tooth pick!" Or they call me Skinny Minny. I HATE that! I want to say, "Just because I'm thinner than YOU doesn't mean I'm where I need to be!" But I don't...
  • That's genius! It's going to be difficult to convince her that I now crave apples and not candy (I have a crazy crazy crazy sweet tooth, and everyone knows it haha) but I really think that just might work! She's definitely the kind of person who hears what you say and remembers it. Once for my birthday I said a couple…
  • My fiance is the same way. I told him he can go out and buy his own groceries and make his own fatty dinners if he wants to be so picky. At first I kind of felt bad, but I got over it lol. Now he eats whatever I make!
  • That's probably what I'll end up doing. I'm determined enough not to inhale the whole thing, so I might break it up and have a teeny piece in the afternoon whenever I crave chocolate.
  • That's a good idea! The funny thing is, my secretary just told me about ten minutes before handing me the Twix that her doctor told her she needs to lose weight lol.
  • I should totally do that! Except that one of my coworkers (who works in another one of our offices) is morbidly obese, and actually had that happen to him! I'm not there at all...so I don't think she'll believe me lol. I should get a little dog to keep under my desk to feed all the tacos to haha.
  • We're the same height, and I could be your before picture's twin. Just about the same weight any everything. Where you are now is RIGHT where I want to be! I almost want to put your picture on one of the walls in my exercise room for motivation lol (I so won't though, that's totally creepy!) If you haven't already answered…
  • Heya from another fellow Texan, Corpus Christi =) Best of luck!!!!!
  • Oh yeah I forgot about Alli. I've never taken it, but I think all it does is make you afraid to poop your pants, so you don't eat so much lol. After the QuickTrim incident, I am DONE with diet pills! I have been tempted to try AbCuts (again, damn those celeb endorsements!), but it seems like an expensive path to an…
  • Corpus Christi, Texas! :drinker:
  • I might try those. I need something to munch on at work that will keep in my desk. I usually have lower sugar or weight control oatmeal in the morning with coffee (it's best for everyone that I have my coffee lol), for lunch a LC or Smart Ones, and for dinner something with chicken, lean beef, or lean ground turkey. It's…
  • I cannot thank all of you enough! Each and every one of you all make so much sense! I think my major issue (aside from being impatient! ) is I might be taking in too much sodium. Because I work a busy 8-5 I don't have much time to eat things that are fresh, so I eat a lot of Smart Ones, Lean Cuisines, and canned…
  • I am a MAYJAH night owl! I used to come home and get to running or doing some form of work out right when I got home at 5 after work, but I'd end up procrastinating and not getting started until 7. And then after working out, I have to make dinner, and that could sometimes be at 8 or later! Plus, after a work out, all I…
  • I have always been a brand name snob, but one time I couldn't find what I wanted and all Wal Mart had was the Great Value version (I can't remember what it was). I can remember thinking, "Holy crap! This tastes the same!" Some of my favorite GV stuff is: Fruit Smilies - yummy 100 calorie packs of fruit snacks. Frozen…
