Hey - an Alberta girl! I'm from Red Deer! I hear you got some snow today? We may get it in the morning. I love Alberta, but REALLY? SNOW IN JUNE?!!! I"m sending you a friend request - you'll love connecting with people. I started out just counting calories, but now I'm hooked on the community. Welcome!

Welcome! You'll love it here! I need a kick in my chubby butt to exercise too, so maybe we can prod each other along! Sending a friend request...

Definitely big success. Congrats!!!!

I've heard a lot of people say that they started losing again after increasing their calories. Try it for a week and see what happens. Or try zigzagging your calories from day to day. Also, try switching up your exercise to something different as your body might be used to what you're doing. Good luck!

Everything really! But I like big funky belts and can't wait to show off my waist (once I find it) and I look forward to being able to wear heels all day and not having them kill me. And boots, I hadn't thought about boots til chezmama mentioned it! I love 'em but can't usually buy them cuz the calves are too tight. Yippee…

You did it once - you can do it again!!! You know how they joke about gaining weight after getting married? Guilty!!! the smallest I can remember being since high school was around 165 when I went to Vegas to get married 12 years ago. I was 170 by the time I got home (buffets are evil) and it's been up, up, down, up, up,…

Maybe try doing some meditation where you 'check in' with your body and really become aware of how it's feeling. Just a couple of minutes of sitting quietly several times a day might help get you more in tune with your body. Also, you might want to get your blood sugar checked out - maybe that's messing with you? Good luck…

Real men - love it!

Oh. My. God. Please tell me he's blocked from more than your phone - like from your life - FOREVER! You COULD BE thinner, but you ARE beautiful! And you deserve so much better than to be treated like that! You do have one thing to thank him for - whenever you falter in your resolutions, just think about how…

Good question! It's so frustrating that you can eat a box of mac & cheese for a buck but a plate of fresh veg & some protien costs at least 5 times as much! Try googling 'eating healthy on a budget' or 'budget gourmet' or something like that and see what you get. I know there are lots of sites to help save money on…

Thank for the motivation to actually sit down and plan my goals & rewards. I'm going to make myself a wall chart and post the rewards to keep me going. I'm also looking for ideas for good rewards that aren't too expensive (and that aren't food related!) so I'll be watching to see what everyone is posting...

Might it be water retention? You said you were on a trip so your diet was probably different and I've heard lots of gals say they gain a pound or two when they come back but its gone in a day or two. Drink lots of water and see if that helps flush you out.

GREAT WORK! - You look fab!

Good girl! Facing your challenge, being honest with yourself, and not purging afterwards is a huge victory! Make sure you take some time to really internalize how you feel about it now. Reread all the encouraging posts and bask in being proud of yourself for a while so you can remember how good you feel now. Being in touch…

Wow - thanks for the reminder!!! I'm going to print that out, cuz I am SO guilty of using food for all of the above.

Holy girl! You're doing great! And looking it! Regardless of some extra saggy skin, you're still getting healthier. I've seen a lot of posts about skin, and the recurring answers are lose slowly, do strength training and stay hydrated (inside with lots of water and outside with moisturizer). Keep up the great work!

After 3 weeks I realized it was unrealistic for me to go from eating 2-3000 calories a day down to 1200 so I reset my goals to maintenance (1870) for a few days just to get used to eating at that amount. After 4 successful days I set it for 1/2 lb. loss (1630) and will do that for several days. This has taken off so much…

Haven't tried it myself by Enell are supposed to be the end all be all of sports bras - Oprah's favourite! www.enell.com I went shopping for a bra last weekend and was thoroughly frustrated by not finding anything over a 38DD. Buying over the internet is tricky with bras but I might have to resort to that. Good luck!

Ugh, can't believe I'm saying this, but I'm in. I'm (supposed to be) training for a 60 km walk that I'm doing in July so I really gotta get moving so hopefully this will help. I may have to break out the bike to get there, but I'll do it!

Great idea! I find that meditating for a few minutes every day helps me out. I sort of have a little talk with my body and thank it for all it does for me and ask it to work with me and that we're on the same side and want what's best for us (mind, body and spirit). It makes me feel at peace with what I'm doing and like…

Great Job!!! I like the reminder that we should be grateful for what our bodies can do when we are willing to get off our butts and do it! Keep up the great work!

Love Love LOVE Zumba! I've heard so many times over the years that the key is to find an exercise that you enjoy and until now I've never enjoyed ANY! I'm taking a Zumba Gold class thats for beginners (or seniors) so the moves are a little easier to learn and a slightly slower pace than a regular zumba class so I don't…

I realized after 3 weeks of battling with hunger that it was unrealistic for me to go from 2-3000 calories a day down to 1200 so I increased my calories back up and find I'm not stressing about food all day which makes me less hungry cuz it's not always on my mind. I'm probably averaging about the same number of calories a…

CONGRATUALATIONS! I can relate to how you felt - I did the Weekend to End Breast Cancer 60km walk a couple of years ago and finishing it was the most amazing accomplishment of my life. I'm doing it again this July (in Calgary too) and am trying to train but it's been slow going so I don't know if I'm going to be in much…

Cool - I'm in! There's also a program for 200 sit-ups. I wonder if it's a good idea to do them both at the same time?
-
I'm going to guess pms. I searched on the forum posts and found that lots of gals gain between 3 & 7 pounds - yikes! Are you sure you're eating enough? Lots of people don't lose if they aren't eating enough calories.
-
That's frickin' hilarious!!! Love it!
-
I looked at your profile pics and I assume the left one is current and right one is earlier cuz I can definitely see it in your face! Looking lovely! Well done!
-
Oh, that is so not a small thing - it's HUGE! It means something has changed in your mind which is actually harder to change than your body. Good for you!

Mine was 5 days late and I've got cramps worse than I've ever had in my life, so yeah WTH??? Seems unfair to make things worse after all our hard work!
