It is working correctly for me now.

Hello everyone, I'm 55 and want to lose 65 pounds. I used MFP in the past but lost my motivation after my business partner and good friend died last August. I did a lot of emotional eating. I've been back in the groove for the last five days with eating and exercise. I'd like to join the group.

Longevity is nothing without vitality.

I still indulge in a glass, or two, of wine. If drunk moderately, I believe wine has some health benefits. On these days, I try to cut back on something else or exercise more.

Welcome to MFP, I hope you enjoy it. There seems to be a good community of support here.

Hilariously funny post, one of the most entertaining that I have read on MFP. I think your jest and optimistic outlook would be a great motivator. I sent you a friend request, if for nothing else but to keep up with your future posts.

Hmmillinor, I would love to hear more about the things you have found to curb your sweet tooth. I thought I'd beaten my sweet tooth cravings, but they keep managing to resurrect themselves.

Thanks for the links. Bookmarked for future reference.

Congrats on adding the nursery! I workout at home as well, I find it more convenient. Gym includes: treadmill, stationary bike, elliptical, weight machine, few free weights.

According to Mayo Clinic, abruptly stopping your caffeine intake can cause short term depression and irritability. This is assuming that the soda you drank contained caffeine. See the following article for more information:…

Welcome to MFP! Tracking the amount of food I eat has been a big eye opener for me. There is also a lot of good advice in the forums and great inspirational stories.

To add a weight loss ticker to the bottom of your posts, Click APPS (located on the blue bar at the top of the page), then click Tickers (Which will be located on the second blue bar at the top of the page, after clicking APPS), select the style you like.

Fantastic job! And thanks for sharing some of the vacation pictures as well.

As with life outside of MFP, it takes time and common interests to make true friends. I may be out in left field, but I wonder if age has more to do with it? I only have a couple friends in real life that are 20 years younger than me. Maybe it is not as big of deal here, but I thought I'd throw it out there for discussion.…

1/2 cup of oatmeal with a few raisins and pecans, coffee, and 8oz orange juice

Thanks for all the helpful advise! I will learn more about how soda effects the body, try seltzer water, and try to find an alternative drink. If I drink one, I am afraid that I will go back to binge drinking them. In the past I easily drank 5-7 sodas a day instead of water. (BTW - made it through yesterday without…

Terrific inspiration, thanks for sharing your journey with us.

Job well done! Your slider bar is great as well, it will inspire others and prompt them to read your story, if they haven't already done so.

Kmiller, I browsed your profile and I'd say you are pretty incredible. Your raising kids, which is no easy task; appear to be a loving wife; and it sounds like you are an amazing cook. All that from just a short profile bio. I know I used to measure my self-worth by comparing myself to others, everything was a competition.…

jfauci - Glad you enjoyed the post and thank you for the encouragement. drojen - Thanks, and yes I am enjoying the new retaining wall. #tambam69 - No worries on the perception of your post, I enjoy all feedback. I sure hope I've had my last soda. If it becomes a habit again, my son may tear down the retaining wall. (Just…

Hello and welcome to the forum. Which virtual hikes do you use?

Thanks to those who responded. I think I have a good "Gentleman's" beginner's routine developed. (I didn't want to use the word old. ) 1) Warm up for ten minutes on the stationary bike (2 miles). 2) Octane Fitness Cross Circuit (Intervals consisting of 2 minutes of cardio, followed by 1 minute strength, repeated for…

What you feed grows, I will no longer feed the glutton. Longevity is useless without vitality.

Sleep apnea can also cause heart problems, which is actually what lead me to be tested. My AHI was 67. While a CPAP isn't a cure all, a good night's sleep will help all areas of your life.

For family use, each person could have his or her own code to punch in. Need to market one for the pantry door as well. However, if people want to overeat, they will find a way around the system.
