This is something that I don't understand. Why are so many women so worried about how they look. I've read so many posts on MFP that are all about wanting to look a certain way. What about just being healthy? shouldn't that come before the way a person looks? Anyway, your BMI is 21.5. That's really good.

Yes, I'm one of those hate it then loved it runners. I started out in February running to lose weight. At first, I really didn't want to get going. But after I got passed a few good runs, I really got into it. I even did a 1/2 marathon last Saturday. Rain nor shine, i'll run because I love it. You said your shins hurt. my…

you don't need supplements at all. they do help when you're already working towards a specific goal. But there is no supplement that will do a whole lot. They only assist. Your best bet is a daily multivitamin. if you're just trying to lose 20 lbs. then do it without supplements. when you lose the 20 lbs then consider what…

You really could have messed with him. Just ask him the same type of stuff about himself. Then at the end, ask him how he got his head stuck so far up his a**.

I think you hit the nail on the head here. i totally agree with you.

that would be normal. I won't pretend to know alot about food. But from what I understand there are two different types of carbs. starches are the pasta, rice, bread, and such. The other is from fruit and veggies. There's two different fuels our bodies use. Fat and Carbs. Fat is like gas in a car. A car is supposed to run…

I'm looking for one too. Does anyone own a Garmin 405? Does that track calories?

calories burned during weight lifting is very relative. The database doesn't give a credit for those calories because it differs so much for each person. The best way to determine calories burned in any circumstances is to use a heart rate monitor. There is a formula to determine calories burned by heart rate, age, height,…

Seriously, see a doctor. it may be nothing, but if it is something, you will definitely regret it if you don't go.

leave your starting weight from Feb. it's all one journey. The journey keeps going even after you reach your goal.

age weight and height are factors. the elliptical is probably set to for a person that weighs about 135 lbs.

I tend to do an unintentional cheat day and the same thing happens to me, but the extra 3 pounds or so come off in two days. This is how I do it and I think this is how it works for everyone. day 1 (monday) - eat all my calories over 5 evenly spread out meals. I don't save calories for dinner. + workout day 2 - evenly…

This is from Women's Health magazine. If you have your pick of any time of the day, the late afternoon would be your ideal workout window. Muscle strength and the body temperature both peak somewhere between 4 and 6p.m., allowing you to work out harder with less effort. And you've eaten breakfast and lunch, meaning you'll…

I need one too. do any of these track and record heart rate for a whole workout? is there a way to view or upload data to a computer?

spinning class is awesome. It's good for all levels. go for it!

I get where you're coming from. But think about why it's offensive to you. You have a problem with yourself eating like that because you now realize the discrepancy between eating like that and how we should eat. The problem isn't you or what your friends are doing against you. The problem is that they don't realize that…

Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!

From what you described about your morning, you are pretty hard core. You get to do whatever the heck you want. You motivate me.

I set my goal lower then what I thought was possible. I hit a plateau at about 10 lbs higher than my goal. It lasted almost 4 weeks, but I just kept going the same way I had been. I also had to increase my calories for this week and I'm still about 4 lbs away. But in about 2 weeks I should reach my goal. Changing up a…
