  • Hello Sarah, congrats on moving towards a healthier you. Remember slow and steady wins the race. You have it in you to make this your year!!! No need to hope, just make it happen.
  • Congratulations! You look fantastic. My biggest struggle is staying motivated, i know what works but somehow I lose focus
  • I would say strength training is very important and it will give you a nice toned/lean body. And make sure you get plenty of protein and healthy fats. Congratulations!
  • I usually do fruit in the morning and a variety of nuts in the afternoon. I also love cheese and raw veggies. I've read that a small daily serving of nuts helps your body release fat stores plus they're very satisfying. Good luck!
  • My situation is different from yours but I do want to suggest you cut out the processed carbs completely...cereal, bread and pasta just for 2 weeks. I did that and the result for me was better quality sleep and energy all day (no afternoon sugar crash) so even now 2 years later I only indulge 1-2 times a week. I am a mom…
  • I lost 45 pounds in 5 months without counting any calories or grams...I just ate real food and nothing from a box or bottle. Workouts were Jillian Michaels DVD's 3 times per week. I just started logging my food now that I just have the last 10 to lose. I did however include a protein source and a healthy fat at all 3 meals…
  • I think when craving something sweet you're best bet is to make it yourself...if you're not a baker...here's a recipe for fool proof brownies. One box duncan hines brownie mix and two cups pureed pumpkin, mix with a spoon, bake at 350 for 25m and enjoy (and either share or freeze some for later) at least you sneak some…

  • I completely agree, not all calories are equal, quality nutrients make a huge difference with how you feel and even your mood
  • I think the carb is too high, most people feel great and lose well with 40/40/20 carb protein, fat. I never weighed my food I think the most important thing is eating wholesome nutritious food. Good luck you can do it!
  • Try the whole 30, it worked amazing for me (and I'm almost 40) it'll set you on the right track. You absolutely can do it!
  • When I started on my journey I had sunday as a cheat day, that way I could be disciplined the entire week and have something to look forward to. I still lost steadily, if taking my kids out for fast food or pizza, I'd eat a cup of fresh veggies first (mainly to avoid feeling guilty) Good luck!
  • Hi, I lost 40 pounds in 6 months. I did not count calories at all but I ate a healthy fat serving with every meal to stay full and reduce cravings, I limited saturated fats (bacon and 35% cream) Now that I'm on maintenance mode, if I'm craving carbs I try to eat them earlier in the day or right after a good workout. Good…
  • I eat about the same calories as you...but I am new to tracking them . The most important thing is the quality of food you eat, if some of your calories come from processed food, I would advise to cut down until you just eat bread/crackers/pasta once or twice a week. You'll feel so much better! Have lots of natural and…
  • I had the same struggle, I cut out all sweets and after 30 days, my dessert would be berries with vanilla whipped cream or a piece of dark chocolate with nuts. The kicker with sweets aside from calories and zero nutrition is they lead to increased cravings.
  • To make life easy...I marinate 5 breasts on sunday in olive oil and lemonl, garlic and sea salt and pepper, then grill, now I have a healthy protein for my lunch all week. Also I start my day with a 30 gr whey shake.
  • Lots of protein, read more on bodybuilding sites. Stay healthy, I have an active son and he is very skinny (only 8 years old) With the right eating plan you should be able to fill out, give it time. Good luck!
  • Hello, first of all good for you, congratulations. Embarking on this journey will be stressful, I lost 50 pounds in 7-8 months so I know first hand. 80% of how we feel and what we weigh is because of what we eat. Since there is such urgency for you, I would highly recommend that you cut out all sweets and all packaged…
  • when we eat anything sweet it has hormonal effects and increased cravings. I completely cut sugars out of my diet for 6 weeks, and all fruit except an apple a day. Cravings were gone, I felt awesome and now I feel good with only one teaspoon of honey in my daily tea and 2 fruit servings. If you are going to keep eating it…
