Welcome and congratulations!!!

My formula was weight x 12 = daily calories to mantain. Then i minus 500 (one pound is 3500). When you eat low carb you really only have to track your carbs to make sure you're below your target. Don't be scared of the fat. I eat avocados, almonds, olive and coconut oil. Your skin will look good and you won't look haggard…

Yup there are! We are in the low carb forum though. I feel my best gluten and dairy free, and i lost 45 pounds by following Marks Daily Apple. I still follow it but not as strict 5/2...i indulge a little on weekends

I second vha2 and blankiefinder with seafood!!! Boiled shrimp, tuna, my fave smoked salmon. I also have my husband grill chicken breasts so I can throw in salads or just snack on a few chunks. nuts are a fat source not really protein.

I once did the lime cayenne concoction for 3 days and lost 5 pounds. I had a headache for the first day but i looked great at the party I was attending :) I don't think that short of a time frame would do damage to your metabolism.

Eat keto, don't mind calories too much but track your carbs. Everything else will fall into place. I had a home daycare and my exercise was a wiggles music dvd, the kids loved the jumping around and I lost 2 sizes!!!

I'm on the same boat! I have 2 boys, and I spent a long time full of excuses. This is our time! I lost 50 pounds 2 years ago and about 20 has come back so here I am. Congratulations on being here.

Octobubbles...I think that to be true, that is why I cannot do the "eat everything in moderation within calorie goal"...some foods make me feel sated and carb heavy meals just make me hungrier. I lost lots of weight and kept it off for two years, then slowly started gaining again (was sliding back to old habits)

One of my faves...sauteed chicken with onion, mushrooms, green bell pepper. Once cooked, add Franks hot sauce and shredded cheese, topped with a few banana peppers

Hi there are many here with PCOS. You just need to type in the search. It's so important to weigh within a healthy range, you'll find lots of support here. Congratulations and best of luck!

Aside from fruits and veggies I take a Tbsp of chia seed twice a day, in water and sometimes in yogurt. My son has constipation, he eats mostly whole foods but a daily dose of probiotic works great for him (it also improves immune system) If bran fiber causes such a gut reaction...How can it be healthy?

I think you can try to eat fewer calories but make them count! What I mean is choose foods that are low glycemic to keep you feeling full longer and PLEASE do not be afraid of eating fat (olive oil, avocado, almonds, coconut oil) you can reach your weight loss goals just by eating right.
-
I completely agree! I cut back calories a few days before and then indulge without guilt
-
Congratulations!!! You look great.

Isagenix is expensive and not worth the money. You can make your own shakes. They claim that their protein is superior to others (to justify the cost) I think protein is protein.

Everybody is different. Generally I feel more energy and less cravings staying below 50 gr per day. And it's mostly from veggies and fruit.

I feel more energy, sleep better and have less cravings staying under 50 gr. Everyone is different.

My little boy suffers from issues and natural foods along with a daily probiotic supplement works really well.

Avocado!

Chia seeds. Add them to yogurt or I have also had them in water (it's a bit weird I know). They are a great source of fat and fiber. They also help control appetite.

Hi. Join us in the low carb forum!

I use 10 calories per minute too and most times I don't eat back those calories

Hi, you need to go to the low carb group. I cannot eliminate all carbs but i eat veggies and one fruit serving on exercise days. It has worked fantastic for me, went from size 14 to a 2! It took me 5 months.

I am not intolerant to gluten however I feel so good without it!!! Energetic, I sleep better and no bloat/gas. I don't think you need the doctors confirmation, if you don't eat it, you'll feel different within a couple of weeks. I also would advise not to eat gluten-free packaged foods, these are highly processed.
-
I don't think you can be healthy without veggies.

I can relate. I think sugar is completely toxic and it's close to being poison. However I love any kind of desserts and candy. I'm trying to focus on proper nutrition and everything else will fall into place.

Unsweetened almond milk

My favorite way to cook it starts with gently sauteeing a thumb of ginger, once fragrant add minced garlic, then dry rice and fry for 2 more minutes. Add broth and simmer 18 minutes. You can experiment with adding a diced roma or fresh cilantro or green onion at the end. I would advise against sauces as most contain too…

Caramelize an onion in a pan. Boil rice in chicken broth with a little cumin, i like to add a can of lentils at the end. When you serve it, place half of the onion on top with a dollop of greek natural yogurt. It's delish.

Any kind of sugar has the same effect in your body (causing production of insulin) i think as long as it's a small amount once in a while because it will slow down your weight loss. Most clean eaters prefer maple or raw honey.
