At the beginning--just about everything shocked me. I bought and ate SO many bad things throughout my life and never really realized how much junk I kept pouring into my body. For one thing, sweets were always my weak point, even now. When I first started counting/watching my food I was utterly amazed at the calories that…

Don't rely on the calorie burns on those machines--they're almost never correct. If you want a true calorie burn you'll need to invest in a simple heart rate monitor/watch combo. Look up Polar, they have some for less than $100. You need an accurate record of your heart rate, weight and height to get a real calorie burn…

I'm sorry to sound immature but.... "slipped dics" LOL!! I'm thinking you meant slipped "DISCS".

I totally agree! I did that in December 2012 cause I was like, "HEY, I could work to do a half marathon!" I did and finished my first half marathon that December. I kind of got burned out on running but am trying to pick it back up again. I SO need a group or partner or something to run with because running as a loner is…

It became noticeable to others when I lost my first 30. When I lost 20 I thought it would have been more noticeable and actually was disappointed when no one saw it. When I lost 30 and beyond that's when everyone was like, "OH MY GOSH, you're SO skinny!" It's a great feeling to have when others notice the difference and…

Consider investing in a Heart Rate Monitor--Polar brand tends to be pretty reliable. Go look them up on Amazon. If you're weight lifting that's actually really good for physical results. Other's are correct though, eat more and try to eat as "whole" as you can. Cardio is important but so is strength training, wish I had…

Yup, I'd have to agree with those findings. I've read a little about Paleo and it suggests some of those things and the reasons behind them. I don't agree with people who try to buy "Low Fat", Frankenfoods, as Jillian Michaels calls them because they're packed with all kinds of preservatives, scientific ingredients that…

Haha! Not quite, but thanks! Clothing does wonders to cover the flabby belly, which I believe is skin/fat just tends to linger there on me.

sorry for the huge picture (the second one) I was trying to resize but it didn't seem to work...

I've been eating the best I can, at one point I was eating pretty clean. I still try to, just depends on what's available produce-wise at the store. I loveee sweets so I try and limit those (note I said limit, not eliminate). Here is my before at 182 lbs. and my most recent pic when I was shopping for honeymoon clothing,…

Agreed, I don't believe in the "fat free' craze! I read into some Paleo and agree with their take on some things, eating the more whole versions of food is more important me now than squeezing out as many calories as possible through altered "non-fat" items.

Haha! Guilty here!

BAHAHA! Agreed!!!

Spelling. The number of mistakes I see about losing weight versus loosing weight. UGH! That and sweets. I a piece of me dies every time I see how many calories are in a favorite sweet treat. I love cupcakes, cakes, and cookies...

And yeah, we've taken into consideration those bad things happening (being out of country and whatnot). HENCE the reason I ask about who to buy insurance from if we do buy. I just read some really cruddy reviews from people about buying travel insurance, doesn't exactly give me the warm fuzzies knowing that even if we…

For the people who think I'm talking about regular insurance or whatever that has to do with finances, cheating partners etc... I'm not talking about prenups or anything of the sort. I'm asking about travel insurance in the event our trip is interrupted due to illness, weather.... wow. just wow...

Great work fellow soon to be bride! :-D I'm getting married in May!

Awesome work! Amazing transformation! :drinker:

There we go! Sorry about how many edits this took! Anyway, I started back in August 2011, hit my goal in May 2012. Right now I'm trying to get my butt back in gear and really pay attention to food again. I kind of gained a little recently and it's all because I was having the "OH, I'll work it off" attitude...

Basically, it's impossible to go around nitpicking everything and saying, "I can't eat this, that..." Just make sure you aren't OD-ing on the stuff. It does inhibit your ability to fight off sicknesses etc... It all has a chain reaction in the body, but what doesn't? Do your research if you're that concerned but take what…

I know that feeling! I too notice a difference when I eat badly now. My stomach doesn't appreciate bad food. I'm affected, negatively, when I use my body as a dumping ground for "not foods". Recently I've been cleaning my diet up to reap the full benefits (noticeable muscle tone) from eating more "clean". I'm not perfect,…

It depends on the person. When I was heavier I wouldn't be caught dead wearing the cutesy spandex pants and tight tanks. I stuck with loose fitting athletic shorts or capris, a good sports bra, socks and athletic shoes and a t-shirt. Yeah, regular cotton shirts don't hold up well with sweat, but really there's no point…

I borrowed the book, Practical Paleo by Diana Sanfilippo, from my fiance's co-worker and at first I thought, "this is stupid, why would anyone want to restrict themselves that much!?" I read through most of the beginning and began realizing just how much I was missing in my own diet. I was all for the low calorie, quick…

Like my dad was saying (he's a cyclist and has been for at least 10 or more years), he knows what it takes to do what Lance did and he's (my dad) not surprised Lance doped. Many cyclists at that caliber most likely dope, it's whether they admit it or not. Lance was an idiot, in my opinion for lying that entire time. Now he…

Healthy and fit. And to anyone who says no butt, no boobs means stick figure then you obviously don't know what you're talking about. I have some curve because of my frame/structure but by no means do I have boobs (A cup) and I have a butt though it doesn't stick out like most "large bootied" women. I can't control either…

Oh wow! Awesome transformation, I seriously wouldn't have thought that was the same person! Congrats on your HUGE loss!

That went through my mind as well!

I enjoyed it. I think JM was doing her job, it was her job to teach, lead and yes, motivate. It probably appeared (through editing and tv 'magic') that she was taking out a contestant who should have been there, but seriously, if the girl didn't think she could handle it mentally then she had no reason to be there. I…

If we could see your diary then maybe it'd give some of us an idea of how few/many calories you're consuming and what kinds of calories. Consider eating MORE if you're at the low end (1,200 calories a day). I know, it's scary, but I'm too still learning about where I should be in eating calories (and I've already lost the…
