  • It's weird, I started out at 182 and I'm now around 131.6-132. I lost SO much weight and I know I've changed a lot--size 14 to size 6ish, maybe 4 and my belly still looks the same to me. I guess it's something you have to get used to, I still have a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that a small or even extra…
  • I have had the same issue. I started out with a goal to lose 40 lbs. but once I hit my original goal I realized my small bone frame just didn't hold that particular weight well. I've lost ALMOST another 10 lbs. and I'm a lot happier with my belly area, I don't know how much more I have to lose to get rid of my belly. I can…
  • That's awesome that you've changed that much! Congrats and keep it up! I too say measurements and pictures mean a WHOLE lot to anyone who loses a considerable amount of weight. It's the only thing that kept me sane when I felt I hadn't changed much.
  • OMG that's awesome. Congrats on hitting your original goal!! You must feel great!
  • AGREED! Funny thing too, those locally owned joints have FRESHER food than the mass chains you can find nutrition info for. Keep that in mind next time you eat delicious, locally owned restaurant food!
  • Awesome job, you look great! :flowerforyou: I too am at 137! I started at 182 this last August and I'm hoping to get down to 130 or so sometime soon-ish.
  • I was sort of like that at the beginning. Once I noticed the whole tracking food thing actually worked in helping me lose weight I didn't want to go back to randomly snacking on cookies, cake, bread, etc. Honestly, I think it takes time to really know what's going to HONESTLY mess up your entire "plan" and what isn't. I am…
  • My goal at the beginning was 140. I started at 182 and I'm now 137-138, I'm working toward 130. I thought my belly would have fixed itself by now but I'm thinking it'll take more weight loss/strength training-type workouts to get rid of the remaining belly.
  • Like many others on here, I too enjoy 30 Day Shred. It's challenging, short, easy to follow (for those of us who are rhythm challenged), and I like the kinds of exercises Jillian chooses. It forces me to work other areas of my body I wouldn't normally work.
  • When I started using my fitness pal I began with mostly walking. I was able to run (slowly for a long time) but preferred walking because it was less impact. It seemed to work pretty well in building my stamina. I walked 45-60 minutes everyday until that became 'boring' then moved onto trying out the 30 day shred, I…
  • It's probably right. If you keep track of what your average heart rate runs and your Max you'll start to have a better idea of what'll equal a higher calorie burn etc. I'm 137 and run a heart rate of 167-180 running for 40 min and burn 450ish calories. You'll burn more if your heart is elevated for a longer amount of time.…
  • I get it. I don't live with my dad anymore-- got lucky that my boyfriend was fortunate enough to find a job before graduating school. I on the other hand haven't been so lucky to find a job after graduating. Anyway, my boyfriend and I live together and luckily he doesn't mind the healthy foods, he too is semi-health…
  • I'd do it but I don't have a swimsuit that fits anymore. The two I had were from 40 lbs ago and are now very loose. I would buy a bikini and post in that but I'm likely to out grow it (shrink out of it) anyway so really, all and all, it'd be a waste for me to buy something just to take pics in.
  • That's awesome! I too am trying to get rid of my belly fat. I talked to my dad and he said he's always had a gut (and he's in great shape) and his dad always had a gut (basically, in my family it's genetic). I'm working diligently to get RID of it-- or just shrink it drastically. Anyway, congrats! Looks fantastic!
  • Yup, like everyone else, the first mile or mile and a half is the most difficult. I'm running 3 miles every other day and trying to get myself to do 4.5 miles (because of how the route turns out if I repeat after 3 miles it's another mile and half, otherwise I'd be working on doing just another mile). I've also noticed my…
  • So many have posted so far considering this message is now on the 6th or so page. Anyway, I've done it 2 times around. Just finished my 2nd round today (day 30). I did the shred every day (some times I'd miss a day in between). I noticed the biggest difference when I was doing it every day combined with my normal cardio…
  • hahaha! My boyfriend would have gotten a kick out of that!
  • I've done an entire first round of it and I'm on my second round. I'm now on the third level and I can say I'm MUCH stronger now than I was the first time I did it. I still break a sweat but it's a little different compared to the first time. It's SO worth it if you're not one to lift weights on your own or do any kind of…
  • Awesome job!! Great video!
  • Thanks!!! Great points! I'd have to say I've been measuring ever since joining my fitness pal and I've consistently seen a change in my numbers in regards to waist and hip size. Not always have I been lucky to see a change in weight as often. It is SO motivating to put clothes on that once fit tight and are now LOOSE! I do…
  • Awesome! I totally understand the bikini goal. I too have been in the same situation--unable to wear a bikini since being out of diapers! You look great! I can't wait until I reach a bikini appropriate belly. I'm nearing it. I actually just went to the store the other day to try out bikinis for the first time. I look…
  • Awesome!! Congrats to you!
  • Wow, thanks for that information!! I was stuck at 150-152 for a while and then the other week or two my weight dropped to 144. I'm still at 144 point whatever. I went back and looked at my diary and some days I ate just the minimum protein. I'll be sure to keep better track of my protein for now considering I've upped my…
  • Wow!! Awesome job! You don't look 188-- you look smaller! Great work, keep it up it's obviously working for you!
  • Good job! I can see a difference! And yeah, the belly takes a while to shrink-- it does look smaller though!! I've been here since August 2011 and started at 182 lbs., I'm now 143 lbs. and I feel like my belly still looks the same. I have been measuring every two weeks and I certainly have lost inches in that part. I…
  • Wow! You look marvelous! Great job!!
  • Oh my goodness! You did awesome!! Congrats, you look great!
  • Agreed!!! I've never run a marathon, nor have I run a half marathon-- heck, haven't even gotten to running 5 miles. 3 is my average. Anyway, that is really irresponsible of this guy to have done that. Not all sports are created equal. My dad is in really great shape and can ride his bike 75 or so miles just fine but if he…
  • The only weight things I do are either following my 30 Day Shred with Jillian Michaels or using some of her moves while I'm in the gym doing my own thing. I do lots of cardio and used to think I only needed cardio but I noticed when starting 30 DS I had better results incorporating some weights and resistance to build…
