Hi Skinny Mini Members! I am so excited to be a part of this challenge and to be doing it with you ladies. I recently started participating in the forums and meeting new friends on here, and being more active on this site. This site has a lot more to offer than I originally thought when a friend of mine asked me to join…

I don't normally go over my calories. For breakfast I'll usually have a banana, an egg sandwich with one whole egg and one slice of wheat bread and a piece of cheese. I'll have a snack about 3 hours later.

Thanks for sharing! I've seen many forums on here talking about calories and I do believe that all calories are not created equal. Some have differing opinions, but I'm sticking to what I think ;)

Thanks for the info! I feel the same way, that I'm eating too much. So VeganChick, question for you, when you are zig zagging calories, on your low days, do you eat back some exercise calories to then be at a net of say 1200? Today is my low day.

I'm so glad there are others like me that feel that way about food! Yay to us for doing what is best for us!

I would love to be a part of this group if there is still room!

I usually workout for 20-120 minutes 6 times a week. I am doing at home workouts after getting rid of my gym membership to save money. I've realized that strength training is sooo very important and I love the strength training DVDs I do at home. I'm a former "Cardio Queen" so this says a lot. I love the S.W.A.T. DVD's,…

I don't wear shoes, I'm working out in my carpeted living room. I've thought about this and it might be better on my feet to wear shoes, but I would definitely wear them if I had a hard surface I was working out on such as hardwood floors. I'm on the 3rd floor of my apartment and I don't want to disturb my neighbors below…

Thanks! I'll see what works for me. I'm 5'1" so maybe that has something to do with my calorie setting being a bit lower.

I think I answered my question. Here's a website that calculates calories based on height, weight and age. So, it would make sense that this would need to change as you drop weight. <http://www.freedieting.com/tools/calorie_calculator.htm#>

If my goal caloric intake without exercise is 1460, set at losing a lb a week, what would my caloric intake be for the low days and the maintance days? Or how would I find out this information? The idea makes sense to me, but not the math. I would like to try zig zagging my calories. Can someone help me out? Thanks!

I do measurements once a month. Its really surprising to look back and see how many inches can be lost in a month when you're on track!

I do daily weigh ins. I suppose it's not necessary now that I'm counting calories. I can see how it can become obsessive though. I used to play Russian Roulette with the scale before I was counting calories because I didn't know what was the right amount for me to eat and wanted to see what I could get away with. Counting…

Good for you for being at your goal weight! Some people say calories are calories, but I tend to believe that foods that are better for us such as veggies with dip, or a piece of fruit, would be a better way to get calories rather than ones full of sugar such as cookies. Me personally, in the past I would eat a bunch of…
