^^this, and zero carb is virtually, impossible.

Happy Birthday, but you look younger! Congratulations!

OMG. I can't believe the things some people will do to lose weight. So sick and pitiful. Much easier, and may be more sustainable in the long run, just to learn portion control & moderation.

Thanks for the tip! DD ordered watermelon as part of the menu for Father's Day. I am off to shop and will look for the yellow spot. Good to know!

Great question, I would like to know this too. Love watermelon, and all melons. I could live off melons and berries in the summer! So refreshing, low calories and satisfies the craving for something sweet.

Maintaining is harder for me. The weight coming off and going down clothing sizes was motivating. Now, I have to keep reminding myself daily to stick with the program. The alternative of going back to old habits and becoming morbidly obese again just can not happen. I do overindulge on occasion, but I have managed to stay…

While losing weight, it was the results that I was seeing daily. I have been on maintenance for over 2-1/2 years now, and what keeps me going is the goal of reaching 5 years on maintenance. Everything I have read, says that 80% of the people that lose the weight, gain it all (some gain back even more) within 5 years. My…

Sure can! Keep it up!

We had these donuts yesterday at work. One was a raised, glazed with maple frosting and a piece of bacon on the top. We cut it into 4 pieces and shared. It was amazing!

I got obese because I love food and the food I love tastes good. I can really relate to people that feel this way. I have lost a lot of weight and kept it off for over 2-1/2 years now. I honestly miss being able to eat whatever I want, whenever I want to eat it..................but, I really love being a normal size and…

Partly to your comment, but mostly the comment comparing this to real life saving procedures. Bottom line is nothing is 100% safe, and who knows what may result from emptying the contents of your stomach repeatedly are. Besides the abhorrent idea of eating what you want and then pumping out your stomach. It is just too…

My take on this as a stepping stone to more invasive weight loss surgery is this. If you do not have the ability to try to moderate your food intake, electing for having this tube inserted and continuing to eat as much as you want, when are your going to learn to eat less calories than you need for weight loss? To relate…

This reminds me of the old SNL skit about the Romans and the vomitorium. People need to take some personal responsibility about their health and not look for quick fixes or questionable devices to allow gluttony. It is just bizarre to me that this would even be an option. No, just no!
-
It really wasn't losing the weight, it is keeping the weight off. 2-1/2 years on maintenance and it is still a struggle keeping my calories from going above maintenance and knowing that I will never be able to eat whatever I want, whenever I want to eat it.

OMG, It's the end of world as we know it. Many things make me sad about society today, but this really is going too far. What next? Makes me glad I am old.

No one knows better than ourselves, what will ultimately work for each of us and be maintainable. I can not possibly speak for what will work for anyone else. However, I can tell you what worked, and is still working for me. Shop for, prepare, and eat what you like. You want a plan that will take from loss through…

You lose weight by eating less calories than you burn. I don't see how smoking marijuana could aid in weight loss. In some states, it is prescribed as a drug to increase appetite, suppress nausea, and ease pain for some cancer patients. Long term use of marijuana is open for debate as to the health risks, and it is illegal…

64, maintaining @ around 130# for about 2-1/2 years. (160# total loss) 5'2 3/4". Around 1800/day. Moderately active. 65 minutes of cardio/day at gym plus any additional walking. Average 20,000 steps per day on my fit bit.

Everyone I know who has died in my immediate family (mother, father, bil, sister, fil, mil) has been thin or normal weight. Dad had cancer, mom had emphysema, bil had type 2 diabetes (he was very slender), sister had cancer(3 different types, breast cancer @ 39 (no family history) brain and adrenal cancer at age 54 (which…

Do you seriously think that every overweight person gets a health issue directly because of being overweight? Because that simply is not true. I know this for a fact, because I am one of those people. I was morbidly obese for most of my adult life. I will be 65 in September and have been a normal weight for over 2-1/2…

Well, there are no guarantees in life. You could be in perfect health, with a "perfect" life. Go in to the doctor and get the news that you have some inoperable disease and have a few weeks to live. What then? No guarantees in life, no matter who you are, or how healthy you think you are. It is not just about overweight…

Exactly! Everyone has something to worry about, it does not mean they can not be happy. Saying someone couldn't be happy because of how they look is ludicrous. You can not possibly know they are not happy by looking at someone. And it doesn't matter how much she weighs, she says she is happy, why can't you believe her? It…
-
It is prejudice to say no one can be happy if they are fat. Same as any other prejudice. You can insert any demographic or characteristic and claim the same thing, "you can't be happy because you are rich, poor, short, tall, fat, thin, blue eyed, brown eyed, live in the city, live in the country" pick any identifying…

Not possible for you, but you are judging by your standards. How can you say it is not possible for someone else.
-
Honestly, for some people,(and I am only speaking for myself) they overeat because they love food, and eating food makes them happy because it tastes great. I Love Food! The result of overindulging may not make us happy, but getting there sure does. I know for a fact that I am not happier at a normal weight than I was when…
-
No one can possibly know how someone else feels. If she says she's happy, why doubt it? Because you wouldn't be happy? Holding someone else to your standards of what makes you happy, or unhappy, is not necessarily true for anyone else. Anything is possible, why not take her word for how she feels. She knows herself, the…

I can relate a little bit to your story. I lost 100# in 7 months. It took me 14 more months to lose 60 more for a total loss of 160#. I have been maintaining for over 2-1/2 years now. Everyone is different. What is good for one person, may not be for another. No one is equipped with the knowledge to tell someone else what…

Once a day at the same time, in the morning right after I wake up, before I shower. Record it once a week. Weight can vary greatly throughout the day.
