Glad you clarified OP, cuz your title topic says 30 Day Sugar Free, not 30 Day Avoiding Added Sugars, kind of a difference there, and pretty close to impossible to do.
-
Cutting back is one thing (which most people would agree with), going sugar free (OP's topic) is quite another thing.

Sugar, from any source affects, and is processed in our body's the same way. What difference does it make whether or not it is table sugar, processed from beets or cane or corn or anything? Just wondering as you think what others are saying is incorrect.

Seriously though, what are you going to eat during this 30 days that you will be eating no sugar. Besides the obvious, candy, cake, pie, donuts, bread, pop, juice, processed foods, fruits, vegetables, dairy. Just wondering.

More and more restaurants are posting calorie information on line. We don't go out to eat much anymore, but I always check on line before we go, so I pretty much have a good idea of what I will eat. Otherwise choose items that are grilled, salads foods without sauces. It there is no calorie information, try to use the data…

I agree that many people have trigger foods (mine is chocolate) but many have taught themselves moderation and how to control the food. Some can not resist and overindulge. But it can be any food, not just sugary things. Each of us has our own of dealing with it. Never going near it or moderation. I do not agree that any…

A lot of people pre plan their meals. I do it myself most of the time. It is really easy to pre plan on MFP.

Over 80% of the people that lose weight gain it all (some gain even more) back within 5 years. No matter how the weight is lost, or how fast or slow the weight is lost. The fact is, to keep the weight off, you have to not revert back to eating more calories than you burn. Not many people succeed at this. Weight gain occurs…

Fact. The only thing you have to do is eat less calories than you burn.

Glucose is sugar. Full Definition of glucose (Merriam Webster) 1: a crystalline sugar C6H12O6; specifically : the sweet colorless soluble dextrorotatory form that occurs widely in nature and is the usual form in which carbohydrate is assimilated by animals 2 : a light-colored syrup made from cornstarch Eliminating foods…

It is impossible to totally eliminate sugar, nor should you, your body needs it.

^^True words! Turkey bacon is not worth the calories, yuk. Real bacon is well worth the calories, as with all foods, moderation and fit it in to your calories. Bacon candy is to die for!

No matter what you call it, you have to eat less calories than you burn to lose weight. That is a fact. It is logical and common sense if you just think about it. Your friends are not using much logic and common sense.

Well done young lady! Terrific attitude!

If they really worked, everyone would be thin and no one would need MFP. Besides, do you really want to take pills for the rest of your life, or learn moderation and portion control? Which can you feasibly do for the long term?
-
Easy to make it yourself and you can control what goes into it to make it less calorie dense. However, peanuts are high calorie without anything added so be careful. All nut butters are easy to make. I use sugar free jam/jelly. My favorite is Smuckers Blackberry.

May be useful for some people, but what happens when you reach your goal. Learning moderation and portion control go a long way towards long term success. Starting out eating regular food helps you transition into maintenance, but everyone is different, so whatever works for you is right.

For me, it is the best motivator I have ever had to get me to move more. I love mine! I have had a fitbit for over 3 years now. First a One, then the Force (discontinued), and now the Charge HR. Their customer service is stellar, they truly stand behind their product. Most of my activity is step based, so it is perfect for…

My favorite is shredded chicken breast with Frank's Buffalo sauce. topped with blue cheese crumbles, and shredded lettuce. Also like mashed avocado spread on the wrap with turkey breast, sprouts and diced red onion.

It is great and I eat it every day in moderation and correct portion sizes. Oh, and I have lost over 160 pounds and kept it off for over 2-1/2 years. Works for me.

As long as you do not consume more calories than you burn. So if you do not increase the calories you are eating, you should lose weight. As Rabbitjb said above, "you can't outrun a bad diet".

Eat less calories than you burn to lose weight. That is it. I have been at this for over 4 years (maintaining for over 2-1/2 years). I have found that it is less expensive than it was to eat whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. You can cook from scratch and eat everything your family eats. It will be healthier for you all…

^^Agree Most people get enough water from their food and drink to keep hydrated. If you are thirsty that is a sign you need to drink. For most people, the 8, 8 fluid ounces is a general guideline, not a carved in stone, minimum amount of water everyone needs. Some need less, some need more. Your body tells you through…
